Career › Re: Bank A Or Bank B ??? by Iyanexbaba(m): 6:05pm On Jun 15, 2021 |
harley88: Hi guys,
Pls I need the advice of the public here. I have been an ET with bank A for about 20 months now at the bank’s head office in a department I don’t like and that doesn’t have a career path. So I’d basically be doing the same thing for years to come. The pay is basically 200k which is quite comfortable monthly. I have tried changing departments within the bank all to no avail. I want to leave the Dept asap so I don’t get stuck there due to age. I’d be 25 later this year.
I started the Entry level recruitment for Bank B a month ago, maybe to start again as an ET probably in a better department with a better career outlook. Right now, I am almost into Bank B’s training school. Bank B pays lower than Bank A, but comes with better perks such as a car. But I’m worried about having to start again and lose 20 months of work experience. The issue is I’d have to be in Training school for some months and collect about 25% of my current salary monthly until TS is over. Also, I don’t know what Dept I’d be posted to assuming I take the Bank B job offer.
What advise can you give me pls?? Also note both banks are in the top four banks in the country.
Should i remain in Bank A and keep trying a change of department or a change of Bank as an experienced hire which is a very slim chance
Or
I take the ET job and start all over from Training school in bank B From the way you have explained it’s like you want to move to ACCESS BANK, my advise for you is to stay where you are and keep growing, I once worked at UBA and one thing on your letter is that they would post you to any department they feel you can work and remember 20months in a place is experience, if you are supposed to be due for promotion in 2 months you would have to start counting again from the new place, if you move because of this what happens if you don’t get your desired department again, you get stucked and then start again? |

Lekiboboe: To the bolded, not all PG. Cert programs in Colleges have a Two year program
Sequel to that, - what did you study in school? - What is the name of your Job? - Do you have study gaps (what year did you graduate)?
you might just get suggestions here on 2 years PG. Cert Programs (if available) and colleges you can apply to based on your response to the above questions The least of your worries should be what you graduated with, I also graduated with a 2.2 which was not even up to a 3point and then I got offered admission at NSCC but then I don’t have more information as regards taking family I know you can take dependents but you need to make more research about this. NSCC and NBCC are almost the same in terms of fees so this should help you reduce cost of schooling thereby using that amount for something else |

valeriechima: Please sis, how do I go about wes sending my transcript to NSCC. Please it is urgent! If your school can send it directly it will be fine because the day they receive it is what would determine your admission, as that day would be the day your application was submitted |

I think it depends on what you want and how confident you are, the nature of the country has nothing to do with the amount you are requesting for, you can’t have a masters now and say because there is no job you want to be paid 40k and the company starting salary might be 200k for masters holders |
