xfire: Your write-up is not long. I am happy that you have not allowed your grade to deter you from pushing for success. The fact remains that those that succeed are those that see the obstacles but forge ahead nonetheless. Can you name some of the trainings? My own advice is to get some experience as then go for Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance and Asset Management Option). This is particularly important as you have a Second Class Lower degree. Save the ‘a lot’ for Masters instead. Believe me, on-the-job experience (even as a maintenance technician) spiced up with a Masters degree (especially if it is foreign) will be more beneficial. Once you get your Masters, you can now begin to target professional trainings and certifications. You may even have funds at your disposal then to go abroad for trainings and short courses. Also join professional bodies – NSE, ASME, etc. In the meantime, while you are saving money and gaining experience, keep hunting for a better job that will provide more relevant experience and cash.
Cheers…. Just what I needed. on point. |
Education › Re: 11 Career Success Tips For Students by iyisco2001(m): 1:26pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
you are totally overreacting, the fact that op called 2.1 a good grade doesnt make your 2.2 or 3rd class bad, i for one have a 2.2, and i and doing averagely well with my job, some of my friends have 2.2 and are doing very well, as much as i have first class, 2.1, 2.2 and 3rd class friends who are doing fine, i also have those who are still at home with no sense of bearing at all. find your relevance in the society yourself, the write up is just to enlighten or encourage you. thanks. xfire, its been a while o. Nice write up. holusormi, pls dont quote me georgeaudu: I was enjoying dis write up until I came to having nice grade. Not everyone must necessarily graduate with a first class or 2.1 cos not everyone got the brains for it and some others really tried but could not make it and no matter what advice you give people are going to keep coming out with 2.2. the fact that u made a good grade and work in a big firm does not give u the right to write someone off from working in a big firm because he didn't make a 2.1 because you are not God and the destiny of a person does not belong to you. You people working in big firms should stop discouraging others with this your misleading write ups. So should I give up hope in life cos I couldn't make a 2.1? Am a proud 2.2 chemical engineering graduate not because I didn't study but the grades were not forth coming as I expected but I know my worth and my destiny won't be determined by the grades I graduated with. Instead of idolizing 2.1 and making it look like the guarantor of a bright future, encourage students to be the best they can be wherever they find themselves and in whatever they do cos not everybody will make 2.1 eventually. Thank you. |

smartleo: I think most of you guys may not fully understand the depth of the matter.I am also working in the said firm, recently a lot of inhumane policies were introduced such as daily portfolio at risk which is calculated by the percentage of the default you have on daily basis divided by the working days in a given month ,for those who have had an experience in mfb ,will understand how bad that volatility is and please for your information ,the basic salary plus other package monthly is 37k without bonus and this makes life harder without bonus as the portfolio at risk is tide to bonus only if after calculations at the end of the month ,ones percentage is below 2%.please your view Sleemzy3: please guys, a mail was sent to us at my work place today that we should sign a oath of secrecy by Monday. Here is the content of the mail. I just want advice before signing it. Is it normal? I've been working there for close to 2 years now. Pls good advice needed so, after we have asked you to sign the secrecy oat, u still have the gut to come and report us on nairaland? SEE YOU ON MONDAY but seriously, niggas, pls run, your yansh is about to get screwed by the poor micro finance bank |
