If you've never dropped out of school due to paucity of funds, you'll never understand or appreciate this privilege. I'm just glad the next generation is not going to go through what some of us went through.

It's okay to hate the president or his party but hating something beneficial to the vulnerable masses is just diabolical.
Christianity Etc › Re: 100 Of Some Of The Miracles And Deeds Of Jesus by Iyobaba(m): 4:19pm On Jul 28
You're struggling to defend the indefensible, I'm not certain you're aware there are two separate laws for foreign slaves and Israelite. For education purpose, I'll make it simpler.

Ancient biblical law sets up two different rules for slaves who were Israelites and slaves who came from foreign nations. Israelite servants had temporary, limited service rights, while foreign slaves faced permanent bondage.

On genocide

However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy[a] them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you

Another example is the killing of the firstborn sons, the Israelis had to paint their doors with blood of lambs because the God in the bible does not have a database of all the firstborn sons he created 😂

You said those who were murdered showed up later, you just testified to the bible being a work of fiction 😂

Fun facts: there's no evidence to suggest that your Abraham ever existed, he only existed in the Bible because he's a myth just like Zeus 😂 😂 😂 😂

Kobojunkie:
1. First and foremost, I am irreligious. I stop short of declaring that I abhor religion at this point, as I have recently learned it occupies a place of importance in our civilization. I say this so you understand that I am not here to drag religion with you or anyone.
Second, my primary interest in this comes from your rant against the Bible, which you pretend is somehow the same as the Quran on the subject of slavery. You have yet to explain why your idea of a merciful God should speak against slavery? 😐

2. Exactly, how do the other passages on slavery buttress your points?
The above is another set of statutes that pertain to dealing with Hebrew(Israelite slaves included)

3. I am not here to argue for religion. But I fail to see how the Catholic church's slave system can be connected to the same slave system that existed in the ancient nation of Israel, of which the Laws we have quoted thus far belonged. (The Law of Moses is literally the Constitution of the ancient nation of Israel in the land of Canaan with citizens all of the blood of Israel.)😐

4. I am also thankful that those who invented the steam engines and all you mentioned read the Bible and were able to formulate what we know today as Western Civilization, which gave rise to much of it all. 😐

5. I don't believe any topic should be sidestepped, as even genocide was not encouraged in the Bible, contrary to the general belief that it is sanctioned. 😐

6. I never said that I argue from a point of belief. Rather, I am simply examining the claims made by you and others and comparing them to the facts detailed in the books mentioned to arrive at whether you are right or just misinformed like so many religious folks typically are.

P.S. There is no evidence in the Bible that the God of Israel advocated or commanded genocide. This is particularly revealed in the fact that those who were supposedly destroyed seemed to show up again much later in the stories.
Christianity Etc › Re: 100 Of Some Of The Miracles And Deeds Of Jesus by Iyobaba(m): 3:02pm On Jul 28
If the Abrahamic religions were exactly from God, I assumed such God if merciful would have spoken against slavery and genocide instead of encouraging it. Your quotes from Leviticus further buttress my points.

I'm certain you're unaware the Catholic Church used to own slaves. "Specific religious orders, popes, bishops, and Catholic institutions held enslaved people and profited from their forced labor for centuries to build churches, run plantations, and fund schools. - That's another facts that depicts the similarities between slavery in Islam and Christianity, both from a self-proclaimed merciful God.

Again, you should be more thankful for the invention of the steam engine and the industrial changes not some fictional books.

I'll give you an assignment to help broaden your singular perspective:

Look for books on how the steam engine shifted global economic system and fueled industrial growth that changed labor dynamics.

I believe there's little to no need to speak on genocide in the bible or the Quran, both books are awashed with columns of such atrocious acts.

After all I've said, if you still believe God or some imaginary angel spoke to someone in a cave then there's no reason for further engagement.

Bless your heart 😊

Kobojunkie:
1. Slaves were the first goods ever sold by men. And again, for many thousands of years, the slavery business was not only the norm in every population on the planet, but slave traders and owners occupied places of higher esteem in most populations, including your beloved Nigeria. The British made the first argument known against slavery sometime in the 19th century, and even then the nation faced an uphill battle from those who saw no reason to give up on the one business they knew they literally had the upper hand in. Basically, if the British had not shown up with their contrary views, you and I would have continued on either as slave traders, slave owners, or just people who lived in a world competing with slaves and those who have them. 😒

So, when you say neither the Bible nor the Quran condemn slavery, my instinct is to ask for the exact reason why you think each of those books should have condemned slavery. 😒

2. I am not surprised since slavery was a way of handling POWs in the books. They could be bequeathed to the next generation in the case tha the master outlived the slave. Of course, that option would be considered a lot more humane than simply genociding the prisoners, or would it not? 😒
By the way, in the same book of the Bible you quoted from, I found the following...
... essentially saying that even POWs were to be subjected to the same love that Israelites accorded their fellow citizenry. 😒😒

3. Nah! I didn't learn anything different from what I have previously known about slavery and how some are triggered by the word, and are unable to carefully analyze issues surrounding the matter.😒

It is sad because slavery has been making a comeback, particularly in Africa, and if Africans are not ready to have a serious discussion on the issue, the number of those captured will keep rising --- above 40 million as we speak --- and nothing will be done about that, too. 😒

I usually don't reply half-witted remarks but I really admire your enthusiasm and gumption even though perpendicular to the facts. Your effortless struggles without hindrance to grasp a few worded lines however lucid should be one of the 21st century wonders.

I'll try to make it simpler this time for people like you:
Neither the bible nor the Quran condemned slavery. As a matter of facts ( something you're not familiar with) the bible supported inheriting slaves or lifelong slaves especially from neighboring nations.

You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. - Leviticus 25:46

I hope you learned something new today

Thank me later if you do comprehend. 😊

Kobojunkie:
What is wrong with slavery as codified in the Law of Moses in the Bible? Have you ever read the Book to clearly understand the slavery in the Bible from the ideas of slavery you may have from elsewhere? 😒😒

2. Slavery in the Quran DOES NOT compare to slavery in the Bible. But I am guessing you never investigated any of this. 😒😒

3. The Law of Moses never encouraged genocide. I know you probably got the idea that it does from listening to other equally ignorant people. If you read the book, you would note from the fact that every single population that was claimed to have been supposedly genocided by the Israelites magically came back to attack the Israelites even after the so-called genocide. 😒😒

This is what you get when y'all keep screaming "my body my choice slogan ".
Most if not all African women now look up to western perverted women's way of life to imbibe.
Women now have zero respect for themselves, a woman has to be naked to show or feel she's confident in her our skin - that's modern day feminism.
I'm all for equal rights and sh!t but modern day feminism has done more harm than good to women and encouraged misandrism.

Who decide this " cut off point " ? Let me guess, women like you right 😂
You can't advocate for men to be deprived of the truth. The Yoruba people say " if a lie goes on for 20 years, the truth will catch up with it one day ".
It's never too late to know the truth and advocating for anything other than that is injustice.
QuinQQ:
He had all the time in the world to decide that before the difficult teen years when a child needs stability most. There is a cut-off point to everything. There are always deadlines by which time you must do something
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 3:45pm On Jul 23
And again for the countless time, it's up to the man to decide if he wants to continue being responsible for a kid if it's not his but denying him the chance to know the truth is nothing short of diabolically unjust.
QuinQQ:
Like I've said countless times it's not about the woman, it's about continuity of a teenager's upbrnging in a stable environment with a father present
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 5:51am On Jul 23
All you're saying is letting the woman get away with her promiscuity, if the man wants to continue catering for the kid after knowing that child is not his child it's up to him but saying the government to ban it just because a woman can stick to one man is codswallop.
QuinQQ:
Of COURSE! Very faithful to their hudbands indeed! But that's not what this thread is about. Let's say you're by your wife and she delivers a bouncing baby boy. You happily take the baby home and enjoy raising him to teenage years. Then at first sign of teenage trouble you scream paternity test. That's what the thread is about
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 5:45am On Jul 23
The figure does not account for people taking the rest privately and it was banned because of the people taking it privately, that alone is irrefutable evidence that the percentage was higher.
You're advocating for women to avoid accountability for being promiscuous and also denying the man the right to the truth, that's not just diabolical but also unjust.
Upstanding and faithful women have nothing to fear about DNA testing except the love peddlers .
QuinQQ:
Actually leftists support DNA testing. See below
And don't forget that 2.8% below.
You said French government banned DNA tests.
Did they also ban police investigating armed robbers?
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 11:50pm On Jul 22
Running away ?
I'm glad we don't have all that Leftist thrash in Africa, only unfaithful women would advocate for this nonsense. Talk about women running away from accountability.
What next ! The government should not allow police investigate armed robbers 😂 😂 😂
QuinQQ:
The accountability lies in you enjoying raising the child up to the difficult teenage years then looking for excuse to run away!
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 10:46pm On Jul 21
You're still on about the same thing, you're saying women should be allowed to avoid being responsible for their sexual recklessness. You can't miraculously have a kid for stranger and start preaching let sleeping dogs lie, where's the accountability.
QuinQQ:
Who is talking of whorish wives and tying a baby to anything. We're talking of letting sleeping dogs lie when it comes to a teenager you've raised from infancy!
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 10:42pm On Jul 21
It's okay if a man wants to take care of kids that aren't biologically his, however, the fact that the government deemed it necessary to ban other men from know if the kids is theirs or not is just unfair to the men and a channel to allow women avoid taking responsibilities for being unfaithful. I'm sure you see the point.

I'll reiterate, the figures were way more than 2.8 percent because they (the French government) discovered men were doing the test privately and the government decided to penalize the men for it.
QuinQQ:
You can also look at it as another way of making parents focus on parenting instead of unwarranted DNA fishing expedition that has 2.8% chance of excluding the husband
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 10:11pm On Jul 21
Nah because the men started ordering DNA testing kits privately and now you pay almost 4k euros if you're caught trying to test if your kid is yours. That's just another way of helping women avoid accountability.
QuinQQ:
Precisely because it is a waste of time - the number is too minuscle to be wasting resources
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 10:01pm On Jul 21
Humor me this, why was banned if the figures were that miniscule ?
For the government to make a policy to fine men almost 4k euros because of just less than 3 percent, isn't that absurd ?
QuinQ:
This is a lie. You forget we have Google. See below
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 9:58pm On Jul 21
Imagine paying a fine of almost 4k euros because you wanna know if your kids are yours or not.

That's how much the French government is willing to go to protect infidelity in women and their marriages.
That's just crazy 🤣
Family › Re: Why Government Should Ban DNA Testing Of Minors by Iyobaba(m): 9:52pm On Jul 21
The Bible and the Quran are both books written by a group of people, DNA test is important, the truth might hurt but it doesn't make it less the truth. France banned DNA testing because a large portion of the test should the women lied and lots of the kids are bastards, as a man it's important you know.
QuinQQ:
80% of France? Never knew. You learn something new everyday! My position here is rightist, not leftist. Even the bible does not support DNA

75 percent of illegal immigrants are Arabs or from West asia, the question is why are they not flooding rich Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and the likes but they flock to The West ?

Before you quote me, check out the privileges that comes with being born or being a citizen of Qatar and compare that to being born in the West.

The unholy marriage between Islam and Ultra-Liberalism needs to end or the West and it's values will perish.

The whole saving the planet thing is depriving Africans of a cheaper source of power.
The Europeans didn't care about the planet for centuries when coal powered their economy.
As a matter of fact, the European coal and steal community (ECSC) laid the ground work for the establishment of the European Union.

Imagine a state like Enugu without the restrictions of clean energy and what it can achieve.

I think it's time we also damn the consequences and explore cheaper energy sources to propel our economy for centuries like the West enjoyed without restrictions, it's only fair.
