Then finally, you must make sure that your land is fertile. Watermelon is not grown in the North alone. Cassava peels processing; Transforming cassava peels into animal feed; for feeding livestock and birds Before time, cassava peels which are by-product of cassava processing was considered as waste. This waste constitute a major environmental nuisance within and around cassava processing factories. But today, this by-product is recognized as a potential feed resources and not wasted any longer. Traditionally, livestock rearers uses this byproduct as feed for livestock but then, throws the remaining of it away. But today, it has been discovered that this wasted byproduct can be processed dried and transformed into animal feed that could last for months without spoiling. Due to quality concerns, cassava peels that are not properly processed are not marketed at their potential prices. This poor quality results due to improper drying that will in turn reduce storage period. For this reason, farmers and feed industries do not have access to processed peel of desired quality in sufficient quantities. But thank goodness for the CGIAR scientist who in 2005, developed a good process that affects drying time of the peels. Yielding high quality products for feeding livestock etc. In turn, this goes a long way to mitigate feed scarcity and also generate additional income to cassava processing companies. This will also create a new industry that offers new employment to participants in cassava processing.
