And he bill me: Str4922A #13000, dish 90cm #5000, dish 60 cm #4000,3 lnb #3000,1 bundle of cable #1000, diceq #500(I have forgotten the spellings) and workmanship #3500. and he said I should pay #29000 in total of everything.so pls my boss I think his bill is high. Am thinking of given him #26000.so what do u think? .NOTE : my location Osogbo. Peace.

sammu: My 1.8m motorised dish carry 2 cband lnbs: Di electric Cband with teflon plate inside the throat and Non dielectric cband without the plate.
The dielectric receives all c band sats that frequnces in L or R converting it to H or V as applicable. Majority of cband sats fall into this category
The non dielectric cband receives sats with V or H. eg intelsat 20cband, apstar,

SULIEMAN3: remember u need di-electric plate in order to recieve irib. u this tp to track it 3964v, 30000 as symbol rate.

sammu: @jacob2012, u mentioned that ur cband lnb is working. Then run a cable from ur ku lnb direct to ur decoder that is, bypassing the diseqc switch. If it works change diseqc

sammu: The sats u mentioned are di electric c band sats and as such u need dielectric cband lnb.
Since ur dish size is 1.8m, ur cband lnb must be at the prime focus to get the sats as their frquency signals are low.
In ur case, i perceive the ur cband lnb is offse, that may explain ur inability to pick the signals.

Check the wires again with the help of a meter. Again check that remote control is ok. If above is not the problem then try this:
1. have someone inside the house to press the remote control while u check the jack. If the jack cranks and it is not moving that means the moving arm has jammed inside.
2. SO. Remove the jack box (that is lower part of jack that carry the motor, it is attached to pipe by 14'' nut screw)u will see moving stud, use plier to turn it until dish start to move. Now carefully replace the motor box.

sammu: Method One
1. drive ur jack to zero point, that is the 'moving arm' should go inside .
2. Remove the screw attaching the jack to the dish.
3. Now turn the 'moving arm' anticlockwise and it will increase in lenght. PLS NOTE: DO NOT TURN IT TOO MUCH. 1-2 INCHES INCREASE IS OK.
4. Attach jack to dish and drive to west.it should go beyond 18w

Method Two
This is more technical
Remove cover of jack
U will see upper and lower limit switch
Adjust it carefully with screw driver

sammu: No. There is no other way to track on a motorised dish. What we consider now is 1. your dish size, 2 lnb type in use. 3 dish alignment.
I know yur dish is 1.8m. answer to 2&3 may bring up ur hotbird

sammu: @ jacob2012, the sat u tracked is not hotbird but intelsat 10-02 c band @ 1west.
I guess ur dish has cband lnb.
For u to track Hotbird@13east, first go to lyngsat.com and write down some hotbird frequencies. Then track w3a@7east with 12728 H 30000. When u hit green, input the hotbird freq and move slowly further east. u should hit green on hotbird.
Pls ensure u use the KU lnb if u are on diseqc switch. Hope this helps
