Well any1 can survive in ota and still save. It first of all depends on ur lifestyle. If u are the type dat likes outings and u engage in emotional spendings then, u might not be able to save OR if u're the type dat seldomly go out and operate a restricted budget then u shld be able to save.
Anoda circumstance dat cld enable u save is if u have anoda source of income (i.e pay frm ppa). Then u have a greater opportunity to save.

As a Engineering grad, if structural, i wld advice u find a construction coy to serve with, they might not pay u much but u wld learn alot as its related to ur area of specialization. If electrical, u cld still look for a coy in dat area.

And as for better pay as regards sec schl, ogun govt pays 5k per month to corpers serving in public schls situated in rural areas. This pay wld come a d end of d service year (i.e 55k). Considerate private schls cld also pay u in addition to ur allawee.

Good evening. You mentioned in this post that some band members do get posted to abk for their ppa since their base is at abk. Would like to know if you know the base for other groups in camp or better still what other groups have their base in abk. Thanks

The band on its own is a cds unit and it is only in abk. That is y most of d members get posted there. For oda groups that have cds unit in oda LG then it is less likely to get posted to abk. But you might get promises from the leader of the group or d nysc official-in-charge buh its like 40% except the official helps u very well. Oda groups that served in camp like the doctors and pharmacist in the camp clinic have the opportunity to serve in abk also. But red-cross, sport committee etc might not get to abk easily.
Abk is an expensive town for corpers so i wldnt be too keen on going there if u dnt knw any1 der and u want to have some savings by the end of the year.

Do av a successful service year and feel free to mention if u nid any more clarifications.

U r one of the pple that I knw wld openly declare ur love for ur state and ur presently embattled governor. I rily appreciate dat btw.
But u saying he(governor) is the best u ever had has got me thinking and wondering which angle ur thinking and reasoning is coming from. Let's not forget that ur state is one of the poorest state in d country, mind u he was a sitting governor b4 now and did nothing to improve d condition of the state and lets not even go into how he was removed frm office. The fortune of d state was beginning to improve wit fayemi at d helm of affairs. But we are back to d old 'fayose era'. When fayose was campaigning he capitalised on d fact the d pple were poor and materialistic(thinkin only of demselves not abt d dev of d state as a whole) and shared rice and oil to buy the votes of ekiti pple for his use and some1 would come out and say he is a grassroot politician. Its laughable that there is something called 'stomach infrastructure' in ur state, Wise pple wld want to be taught how to make wealth(jobs,vocational centre infrac. dev.etc) and not to be fed by some1 or d govt.
Am just stating the obvious fact and i strongly believe the ekiti pple deserve more that all they are getting.
Just logical/constructive criticism which is obliged to getting a factual/constructive answer.

First things first, na to gather all dem old politicians (wey the call demselves youth @ hrt) put them for one room BOMB them throwey becos na dem be the main corruption wey dey.

Only den can the saying 'the youths are the leaders of tomorrow' become evident in our country.

What i know about them is that they request for corp members from nysc directly (i.e a the camp when a new batch comes in). So if u want to serve there, lobby ur way there or pray that u get posted there. And one other thing, they dont accept stray corpers (i.e one who wasnt posted to their org first and is trying to redeploy by getting an acceptance letter from them to take to the nysc sec.) They only accept those posted to them directly from camp.

Looking for a trustworthy and reliable nysc official is the issue now, all platoon officers are local govt inspectors. Moreso cld u tell whr the local govt is located so i cld look up the inspector in charge of the area for u. Then u cld look for the person and liase while in camp b4 d posting comes out.

Try working it to the local govt whr d coy is, if u're in d LG ur work is 85% done. All dat cld happen afterwards is dat u get posted to a schl or the coy of ur choice. Buh if d coy of ur choice doesnt show up on ur posting letter, u shld calmly go to whr u've been posted explaining to them why u cant serve in their establishment. Do this politely after which if successful u wld be given a rejection leta(make sure d letter states that the org doesnt need ur services not that u requested to be rejected). Then the ball lies in ur court and ur opponent now is the local govt inspector(lgi). U nid to convince d lgi that u have a request leta from an org and ensure she works on that for ur new posting letter or else the lgi can repost u to somewhr u may not like again and the whole circle starts allover. Good luck
