Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 10:14pm On Sep 09, 2014
odilibe: from your location ..it is better you use 3meter dish or above for nilesat 102 and 201@ 7west!...MBC channels are currently on nilesat 102 @ 7west.. but MBC Will move cos there will be permanent blackouts on nilesat 102 before September 2015!keep your fingers crossed... hehehe!
This is move is bad news but not unexpected. So I'm going to lose my MBC channels in the next year? My 1.8m dish doesn't pick Nilesat 201 so over the years I've lost BBC, Fox and many other channels. I suppose I should be happy to enjoy them for so long
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 4:16pm On Sep 08, 2014
ayolacz: 11881 H 27500. Somebody who is getting badr 5 @ 26E with 90cm dish shuld input dis above frequency. That's d irib tv feed frequency. If it is scrambled,u can unlock it with d popular irib biss keys
I am seeing too much confusion on this thread. This IRIB tp has footprint for Central Asia not Maghreb. The only Ku channels from Badr 5 reaching Nigeria with 1.8m dish or less are on 12303H. For IRIB you need to use Arabsat 5 C-band at 20 east.
Talk of MBC channels at 21 east is also useless unless you have a very large dish and they are not free-to-air.

toscotech: Pls, i need help,i just got 4922a decoder. The default time is 1st sept 2009, i have not been able to set it to todays date and if i do, it goes back automaticaly once i put off the decoder. Also i cant view the information of any channel am watching, it keeps showing no information. Please help.
If you set the time you will need constant power. Instead you can set the time from the satellite. I don't have same decoder but on my Strong you press Menu and choose System Settings - Time Settings and select GMT Usage = On and Local offset 1:00 (for Nigeria). Problem is not all channels give correct time or any at all. So if I am on MultiTv position I have to move to another satellite position to get the time first. Not many FTA channels give information and sometimes it is wrong (like Joy Sports).

glassman: First, it was Fox news, busines,TVC ent, later TVC yoruba and LTV now its optima sports but som of us hav blind scanned tirelesly and didnt get ds station on amos5. CAN SOMONE PLS HELP.i use 4922a decoder. Thanx
These channels are not on Amos 5. You need to move your dish a little to the east to Eutelsat 16 east. There is confusion because some people can get both sats on a single dish.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 5:10pm On Dec 05, 2013
Easy023: optima sport on amos5 is fta nw.enjoy it b4 it's encrypt .11356h45000
Pls take care this is not Amos 5 but Eutelsat 16A close by at 16 east.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 3:18pm On Sep 13, 2013
amos 5 cband for kktv is 3553V2999 and 4 kuband is 11883v27499
R2bees1: no kktv o, but i got channels like ZTV,SS5Ni,max2,infat all dstv channels etc, all are scrambled.(ku band)
The frequencies for the 3 KKTV channels (Our TV, Megga Sports, Elijah TV) are correct. On Ku band it has joined all those French channels. If you are getting DSTV channels then your dish is in the wrong position. Move it from 36 East to Amos at 17 East.

naijaobi: ok thanks bro... So its nt receivable with ku band LNB?
No, not that I am aware unless you subscribe to MyTV or DSTV...

naijaobi: pls guys is it possible to track NTA with mpeg-2 receiver...if yes, pls at wot satellite...
Yes but to get it free-to-air you need a 1.8m dish with C-band LNB. For NTA, Intelsat 903 @ 34.5W, 3778 H 3775. Or NTA International on Intelsat 907 @ 27.5W, 4143 V 2893
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Strong Receivers Thread by jamesmac1(m): 5:12pm On Apr 13, 2013
This is very strange. I was watching Multi TV when I turned off my 4669x. When I turned it on again all my satellites are gone. In their place is Intelsat 20 with only the MyTv channels. My OTA update setting is still on User and another satellite so I don't know what happened. Any ideas? It will take me a long time to enter all my satellites and frequencies again sad
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 6:26pm On Apr 10, 2013
Lunsat: People, is any one getting Telstar 11N 37.5W on KU band? If so what TP are you using? I am hitting green at 90% on a sat in that area but I cant confirm if its Telstar 11n because no channels are popping out. Nothing special on that sat according to lyngsat, only afew ordinary channels, but FTA spirit demands I check them out for myself. Thanks.
According to Flysat there are no sub-sahara Africa beams on this satellite unless you are getting a data channel so I think Lyngsat is out of date as I can't get these channels any more. Maybe you are seeing a different satellite. Have you tried blind scan?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 6:20pm On Apr 10, 2013
Lanceosas: @ all rescan for M6 and nollywood channel on Amas sat 12562H29999
This is not on Amos satellite but Eutelsat 16 (formerly W3C) very close to Amos. M6 is French and the Nollywood channel is scrambled (part of the Africa Sat TV package on 12604 H)

kibukila: IFilm English is now on Intelsat 10 (Not Intelsat 20) @47.5E courtesy of Lyngsat, those on this bird how is it?
This channel has now gone. When I saw it before it was only showing previews of films from Arab countries.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 8:50am On Mar 12, 2013
Swanky092: which direction and dish size plz
I was confirming the report the Intelsat 10 is now at 47.5 east on 12602 V 27500. Good signal with 1.8m dish so I expect even 90cm could pick it but it is only religious channels for places like Egypt and only not much in English. Frequencies on Amos 5 @ 17 east have different signal strengths so it depends on your dish size how many you will get. I suggest you blind scan.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jamesmac1(m): 6:09pm On Mar 11, 2013
odilibe: old pas/10 or Intelsat10 is now @47.5east...12602V27500 BEAM EUROPE/AFRICA from flysat, http://www.flysat.com/is10.php grin grin grin grin
Strong signal here in Nigeria. It seems to be almost the same package as on Amos 5, 12416 V.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Multi Tv Free To Air On Astra 2b by jamesmac1(m): 4:44pm On Jan 27, 2013
alphagate: @williams85. How did u do it? What is the new freq, symbol rate and polarization?
On my 1.8m dish I notice the signal strength of Multi TV has been fluctuating up and down so maybe when it is lower then people with small dishes are losing the signal.

KKTV seems to have gone now.

ayolacz: i need some1 to help me out. I just bought western digital external hard disk for my srt 4940 but srt 4940 is not detecting it. This hard disk is NTFS formated. What could be wrong?
I don't know about 4940 but my 4669x will not recognise a disk that is NTFS. It has to be formatted as FAT32. Probably best to format it using your decoder under disk options. Also be aware that if power goes while you are recording to the disk (or even just playing from it) it may soon spoil.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Amos 17 And W3C by jamesmac1(m): 3:50pm On Jan 06, 2013
notindome: pls how do i go about it? and which particular software do i use? thanks.
I assume you are using a Strong receiver. Download the latest software for the correct model of your receiver from www.crosat.us or wizkid.persiangig.com. Install using serial cable or USB drive but make sure you have uninterrupted power. Please study the Strong Receivers Thread to get better instructions.

Jackobite: i tweak it to 83% @ 12557v29998 but infinity didnt pop up!
Infinity package is on Amos 5 at 17 East 11156 v 45000
If you are not getting audio you may need to upgrade your receiver software as the audio is AAC format.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Amos 17 And W3C by jamesmac1(m): 9:35pm On Jan 05, 2013
mide8e: whatz thr frequency
Same as before, 11155 v 45000 but sound is AAC so you may need to upgrade your receiver software
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Amos 17 And W3C by jamesmac1(m): 3:22pm On Jan 05, 2013
All Infinity channels are back and currently free to air (except CEC Channel) but I notice signal strength is weaker than before.

kd10: Guys since yesterday nobody has given any anwser to my Quiz about Infinitytv Package on Amos 17ku.
Infinity package has been absent for some days now. Nothing came up on blindscan, unless they have moved to another satellite. I don't know. Maybe they are dead!
@ james_mac, thank you so much. I'm really greateful bro but does it have picture in picture?
You are welcome. Yes, picture in picture has been there since the previous update or 2. Just press Advance button on your remote.
@All, have anybody tried upgrading his reciever ( 69x series) with the new patch? I just want to know if there is any new feature on the new patch. Thank you.
I've just upgraded my Strong 4669x to software version 3.00p.

So far I have found:
- signal indication is at less than 10% when not green, so may make tracking signals harder
- option to pause recording to USB drive
- when blindscanning you can choose the steps
- in your channel list you can choose to show only "HD" channels, but really these are MPEG4 channels as 4669x is not an HD decoder!
- also in channel list you can search for channels by keyword

There is also a daily newspaper (Peoples Daily) you can read on your TV, but it is hard to read on a small screen as you have to zoom a lot:
- move to My TV position (Intelsat 7/10 @ 68E)
- scan 12522 H 26657 and tune to a My TV channel (like FOX) - they are all scrambled
- wait for many minutes
- then press Menu and choose Entertainment - Newspaper

There may be more features I have not found yet. I have not had time to do much blindscanning but it seems like the problem of it showing spurious channels has been fixed.

I used to receive it on 4142h2893 until recently when it went off-air.
Yes, I am also no longer getting NTA International on Intelsat 907. For now you can watch NTA on Intelsat 903 at 34.5W, 3778H 3775 but I don't know how long it will last. There is also a feed of NTA Network service on 3760H 3775.

We can catch FTA channels from so many different countries so why is it so hard to watch local TV?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All About Multi Tv Free To Air On Astra 2b by jamesmac1(m): 10:56am On Jul 26, 2012
On Multi TV frequency, Life TV has changed name to Silicon TV. Also International News channel is now showing BBC World News in place of Aljazeera and also on Joy News when there is no local programme.

On my SRT 4669x the new KKTV frequency dances around 80% in the red for a long time before it goes green. Why is this?

The NWA beam on E7WA is off. So you can only get Arryaddia if you have a dish large enough for Nilesat, Badr 4 or Hotbird. On Nilesat 102 it is 12207 V 27500

Kungu: BBC NEWS back on intelsat 10-02 c band frequency 4026 R (V) DVB-S SR 7324
It appears that the "BBC English TV" channel on Intelsat 10-02 is only a feed to carry the new Focus on Africa TV programme from 6.30-7.00 pm on weekdays. You may see BBC World News at other times but mostly they turn it off sad

ibrodex: Thanks very much. But I want to understand smting. Are U̶̲̥̅̊ saying the signal can no longer be tracked on a 2.4 dish. Pls ur reply is urgently need.
Except maybe you are in the far north, but I don't know what size of dish is needed for Nilesat 201.
So it would be good to hear from anyone that can still see the channels that moved to 201, with location and size of dish.
