Am thinking of getting a refund because my sch gave me either to withdraw or get a refund. No extension can be granted. They are aware of the embassy not giving Nigerians study visa and they don't have power of it.

If you plan to differ I advise you apply on time 2027 or look into another country because this people are good in wasting time and resources. I wish I knew about this platform earlier, I might, be in another country by now.

Please, do you know If one differ, would he need to apply for visa again when the current application is still not decided on?

I spoke with a representative of Griffith overseeing international applicants from Africa and he informed me that they are having the same frustrations as applicants as the embassies are not communicating with them directly (Institutions in general) on the status of their applicants based on GDPR. I called to gain clarity on deferment as the deadline is drawing close and I have a sibling who's currently awaiting a visa decision. I asked if the current visa application needs to be withdrawn to make a fresh application in the case of deferment, or if the applicant can send the deferment letter to the embassy as an update to their existing application so they don't lose their place on the 'queue' , but again, there was no clarity on this even for them as they have not gotten an update from the ministry of justice which oversees visa applications regarding this question.
Resuming online while awaiting a visa decision was also ruled out completely (This used to be allowed by some schools in the past) as the institutions had received a new directive from immigration to not allow registration before visas are issued as there had been complexities in the past where people were denied visas after registering. He informed me that the school will issue communication to applicants by the end of the week who are yet to receive their visas and advise on the way forward but at the moment there are a lot of things in the grey regarding how the visa process would unfold with admission deferral.

Please what's the latest development on this?
If after deferal, would the applicant have to withdraw the visa application and reapply.

I deferred.

I wrote the school admission office, telling them my Visa is still on queue, my latest resumption date has passed, and I'd like to know the next possible line of actions to take.
They gave me options to either defer or withdraw the admission. I responded that I'd like to differ.

But I'm completely sad, this will be the 12th week without response from the embassy.

This lady has spoilt my mood, they need to sentence her to life imprisonment

I got a call from the embassy this morning. I was even surprised cuz there hasn't been any update on their website since the 21st. Then iwent to my Isd portal and it had gone from application received to completed

for example I forgot to attach my FSF form when I submitted my docs, but I emailed them a copy and they accepted it and added it to my file

I'm in the same dilemma, mine also doesn't have a January intake.

I think it's best to call the embassy, or better still, mail them and see their response first.

School just emailed me as today is final deadline. I won’t be able to join them again. I pray those still waiting get favorable decision. Ive been waiting for this thing since June. Hoping and trusting, yet no avail. Extremely painful

Same here, my heart is very heavy.

And the most disturbing part of it is that nobody even knows if they would be approved or denied.

Because, it will be very painful to use more than 9 weeks to deny someone's application.

Denying shouldn't even be taking more than 5 weeks, so that someone would know his stance on time and move on.

Hey guys, i submitted about 26 different documents, the gag is the VFS officer actually thought i had a good application, this is someone who has gone through thousands of applications and i'm very much aware that those who make decisions in the embassy are different to VFS staff but i was genuinely dumbfounded when my application was declined after FIVE months of waiting. The agent i used exploited me, the embassy gave SEVEN reasons why i fell short. Ranging from educational gap, insufficient funds, not enough ties to home country, no explanation on why i think Ireland is best for my course, no elaboration on why i overstayed whilst doing a foundation programme course (irrelevant because i was given yet another study visa for Essex University the following year) i'm in the middle of starting my appeal and what i'm seeing on here is not encouraging. Can anyone please advise me on the steps to take? Majority of these documents were easily obtainable such as a medical report for the gap. My agent has still admitted no negligence till this day.

Appeal can take up to one year, just apply for new one.

But the reasons for the denial were too many.

Before applying for a new one, make sure to address each one thoroughly.

On the gap on education, is it that you didn't explain it, what did they actually mean by that?

im just here to tell you guys that they wont, the irish embassy has shown their hand. they wont do any mass approval. i know someone who was denied last year due to late resumption and he had not resumed because he applied late according to them and his school had resumed.

Make sure you check the country process thoroughly before you commit, make you no jam another long matter like this one o.

But you can't apply to any country for this September, unless you are considering other countries for January, which could be UK.

Someone I went to VFS Abuja on the same day has gotten a decision.

He was to attend a conference in Ireland on the first week of September, they didn't give him a decision, then on the second week of September, they sent him a Visa denial, citing that the reason he's going to Ireland has already passed, financial issues and incomplete documentation.

Meanwhile, they haven't said anything about mine, we both had our application reach the embassy on 22nd July.

it’s so depressing, today makes it 100 days since the embassy received my passport. No movement no news nothing nothing. How can you hold someone’s passport for 14 weeks and 2 days

I feel devastated, I mean all my plans are halted because of this visa decision.

Many things I can't do because I can't tell if I will be around for long or not.
