Donald Trump says that being President of the United States will cost him three to five billion dollars.

The former property developer and reality star made the claim about the impact on his wealth at the G7 summit of world leaders in Biarritz, France, on Monday.

Trump said: ‘It will cost me anything from three to five billion dollars to be president.

‘The only thing I care about is this country.

‘I used to get paid a lot to make speeches…now I make zippo.’

The magazine claimed that ‘Trump’s mixture of divisive politics and a business built around his own persona’ have polarized his business as Americans who disagree with his policies actively avoid his properties.

President Trump made the claim after being asked by a reporter about rumors he will hold next year’s G7 summit at one of his own properties at Doral in Florida.



That reporter asked for reassurances that Trump would not use his presidency to try and turn a profit, with the former Apprentice star quickly going on the defensive.

Trump went on to claim that Doral was chosen because it was brand new, has huge ballrooms, and is just five minutes away from an airport.

Trump explained: ‘My people looked at 12 sites, all good. Some were two hours from an airport…

‘The ballrooms are among the biggest in Florida and best.’

Forbes have estimated Trump’s net worth at $3.1billion, with Bloomberg claiming he is more likely to be worth $2.8billion.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ilorin Zonal Office, has arrested the Executive Director of the Kwara State Harmony Holdings, Adebayo Sanni, over his alleged role in fraudulent sale of some landed properties belonging to the Kwara State Government.

Also, some prominent politicians who served in the administration of the immediate past governor in the state, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, and a naval officer who was a classmate of the governor were being quizzed by the anti graft agency over alleged illegal acquisition and conversion of the state government land to their personal use.


The landed property, according to the EFCC, is located at Harmony Reserved Area of Ilorin and Galadima area of Abuja.

A statement signed by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC head of Media and Publicity, said Sanni was quizzed over an alleged conversion of some landed property belonging to the Kwara State government to his personal use.

Those who benefited from the controversial land, according to the EFCC, include a naval officer, Commodore J.A.Taiwo (retd.), a close friend of the immediate past governor and a former Chairman of PDP and later the APC in the state, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani.


The statement said, “The retired Navy General was allegedly allocated three plots of land in Harmony Reserved Area Estate in Ilorin and five plots of land in Galadima area of Abuja without paying a dime to the government.”

As of the time of filing this report, it was gathered that the former Kwara State Government officials were still being grilled by the EFCC operatives in their office in Ilorin.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has disproved the insinuations that Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, ordered the probe of Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita.

The EFCC said in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, that the investigation was based on evidence and not on political considerations.

There had been rumours that Oyo-Ita came under probe because of the disagreement she had with Kyari during the Abdulrasheed Maina saga.


However, the EFCC said that, as an independent government agency, it would not go after individuals based on politics.

The statement reads in part, “The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to reports by a section of the media insinuating that the ongoing investigation of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, by the Commission was instigated by the Chief of Staff to the President.

“The Commission wishes to state that there is no truth in these claims, and urges the general public to disregard the reports as the handiwork of mischief makers.


“For the avoidance of doubt, investigation by the EFCC is evidence-based. Most often, they are triggered by petitions or intelligence.

“In the case of the HoS Oyo-Ita’s investigation, it was prompted by intelligence received by the Commission.”

The agency appealed to the media to be circumspect in reportage and not lend themselves to actions that could befuddle its activities.
