It's okay if you are not after luxury. That said, avoid rural and undeveloped parts of every state(they are mostly a haven for all sorts of criminals:bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers etc). Avoid travelling from one state to the other by road; most of the highways are a death trap. By the way, where are you coming from?
From Australia my friend hahahaha

Hey, I've posted here before about coming to Nigeria. I want to stay for around two months to get a good feel for all of the country, particularly the north.

Will 1.5 million Naira - about 3.5k USD - be enough for two months?

I absolutely do not need luxury and will try and stay with locals, eat Street food and travel by local transport.

Let me know!

Good people.
Do people tend to be friendlier in the north or the south? Are both the same?

I'm from Australia and want to come visit when our borders open. What should I not miss in Nigeria? I'm not talking about tourist stuff, but actual places/events which will give me insight into the country. I'm particularly interested in the north, but I'll spend time in the south too. Be as general or specific as you please.

[quote author=heendrix post=94640102]what you need the journey for if I'd ask??

let's say you publish it and ?? [/bquote]

I want to make a name for myself so I can investigate more places in the world and bring awareness to people in my country. People in Australia have no clue what's happening in the rest of the world and I want to inform.

It's delusional to think you'd be safe being a White man Boko Haram doesn't know the difference between a White and a black guy you'd get the worst treatment being a white guy even. But well, if you're immune to bullets....then you got my pass stamp buddy
Yeah that's what I mean I thought I'd obviously be more of a target being white
PoliticsWhat's The Deal With Boko Haram by jasbur(op): 6:32pm On Oct 05, 2020
I'm a foreigner, tell me: what are these people really about? I know quite a bit about the taliban and they seem relatively reasonable, fighting a defensive war etc.

But what the Bleep is up with Boko Haram? Is it literally a group that the mentally ill join? They don't seem to be able to be reasoned with at all and will kill at random. The taliban applies strict sharia but what the Bleep does Boko do? Is it literally an excuse to run around and do whatever they want? Is it funded by someone? Why are they insane?

OP State your mission

1.Gun runner
2. Mercenary
3.Or Humanitarian service/war reporter

Because any foreigner that want to visit a warzone have either of this missions
Yeah #3, reporter. Making a documentary about Boko. Would Boko kill me simply because I'm white? I would live as a muslim while I visit.

OP here. Am I unironically more likely to be kidnapped than not? Is my chance better than 50%?
TravelI Want To Visit Maiduguri, Lake Chad From Australia by jasbur(op): 5:36pm On Oct 05, 2020
Hey. I'm from Australia and I travel to politically interesting places and make documentaries about them. I'm independent and not with any organization. Tell me, realistically how safe is Maiduguri for a white guy if I was to have a local with me? What about lake chad? Is it even accessible? What about Kano? I'm not worried about a bit of danger, I've been to war zones before, but I need to know about accessibility and stuff.

Also is crossing the border to Chad feasible?
