A domain name is that word that begins with “www” which you normally type into your phone or pc browser when you want to surf the net. Examples are: www.nairaland.com, www.afflictionsofman.com etc. It comes in different extensions such as .com, .net, .info, .org, .ng, .biz etc.

It is much more expensive to get it “free” in the long run than when you pay for it. Surprised? Confused? Take a trip downstairs

1. You don’t really own that . blog: Just before you sign up for that . blog, take a minute to read their TOS (Terms of Service) and you will be amazed at the great risk you are about taking. That blog doesn’t really belong to you! What you own is just the content. The domain and even the blogging platform entirely belong to Google. Imagine putting 6months of hard work into your blog only to wake up one fateful morning not to find it anymore! This is the same for most other free domains/hosting.

2. Your domain is your property: As long as you have your domain registration information, it is yours forever (as long as you keep renewing it though). If you are unlucky to have a host that sucks and you intend moving to another host, you leave with your domain name

3. Having a registered domain makes your blog address short, precise and very easy to remember: The major secret behind online success is traffic! Visitors have to keep coming back for your cash to pile up. Oga edris, may God bless u for the good work you are doing here. I read from two reliable sources (yours inclusive) that its best to register a seller account on fiverr with a US I.P. Both sources were of the opinion that it will help increase our patronage, and possibly reduce the risk of being banned (unlike when you use a naija IP).

Igunnu: Your idea is good but it is not feasible. To get to level2 you must have sold 50 gigs. That means you will need to have $250 to buy your way to level2. It will also look suspicious if all your orders came from one buyer unless you intend to create as much as 10 other gigs and spread the buying. But all the same it isn't worth it, if you have as much as $250 I will just suggest you buy a premium seo tool and offer seo services that sell well on Fiverr rather than buying your own gigs and losing $50 to Fiverr as you know you only make $4 per sale.
But if you are keen on buying your own gigs, you can buy your best or most profitable gig twice using two different accounts and give yourself two different positive reviews. That way you only lose $2 and it can get you going especially if it is a good gig. I have used that trick before and it worked.
Another way is to go to any foreign online marketing forum, start a thread and look for fiverr sellers looking for sales. Contact them, buy their gig and give them a good review and they will in turn buy your gig and give you a good review. It is a bit risky though, I have never tried it before but have seen guys do it on some forums.
