Bimpe29: Betrayal of the highest order. Tinubu presidency lacks sympathy and empathy for the masses. We are obligated to tighten our belts while he's unnecessarily increasing costs of governance. A leader without empathy can't be said to be a good leader regardless of his acclaimed capacity and capability. Honestly @bold No empathy at all Not even giving Nigerians any breathing space |

F117nighthawk: Mumu NLC, instead of u to fight for a proper living wage,u go settle for 70k as minimum wage,I was expecting nothing less that 100k at least as living wage, now TINUBU Don show Una say he wise pass NLC. abeg make una go lick una wounds You can't blame NLC here Cause of economy hardship is increase in price of fuel, not really minimum wage. Nobody will complain about minimum wage if fuel was selling for #190 this govt met it. Even if they increase minimum wage to 100k, tinubu will increase fuel price to #1500, what difference does it make?? |

Segzy19: Surely another protest will burst out soon It's just too sure....
No one can sustain buying fuel at #855.... People will park their vehicles at home More trekkers on the street More people will take to public transport More overloading by drivers
Businesses that use power generator will surely suffer, and many will park up
Another protest bursts out soon, and this one will be so bloody.... Even the security forces will join... If NNPC is currently selling for #855, definitely most filling stations will be selling for above 1k. |

Lanruze: I see PBAT as an OTP. ( One term President). .
Without rigging Tinubu can never win a second term.
The Minimum wage reform will be swallowed by fuel cost.
Indeed PBATs albatross was subsidy removal. The bold is what they are trying to do. APC mode of increasing fuel price is through scarcity, they never come out to announce it openly like PDP govt. They make it scarce & increase the price. The most unbelievable thing about this govt is that not for once has anything been stable for just a single month since they assumed power. Prices are always on the increase. |

This increase in fuel price has made owning a car to become more of a burden than necessity. Even when u don't drive your car, u will still be spending on it to maintain & service it. In my compound, these days everyone's car is always parked at home. People go to work with public transport. How drivers are able to make profit with this current price of fuel still baffles me. |

Borrowing and lending is their way of life, they live from hand to mouth. You have said it all. Living beyond our means is what has brought Nigeria to this level. You need to compare the life style of our leaders borrowing all these funds to that of the whites they are borrowing from. You will never believe our leaders are the ones borrowing. nairalanda1: If you want queues and scarcity to end, let the marketers charge petrol at market price
Simple and short
Yes, it means fuel would cost N1800 per liter by now, and nigbati, tinubu and buhari are evil people, etc, .....but other countries around us pay just as high, and in the case of some of them like Ghana and Niger produce crude oil
Ghana has economic crisis
yet fuel costs N1600 per liter there
And they HAVE NO QUEUES
And they got two working REFINERIES AND CRUDE production.
Same for NIger. Same old nonsense! Tinubu told us there is no more subsidy, what market cost are u still talking about?? When marketers start selling at 1800, price will get to 2800 within 6 months? Fuel was 500 when tinubu removed subsidy, how much is fuel now in less than a year? When Jonathan wanted to remove subsidy it was this very same Tinubu that led the protest, so what nonsense are u saying now?? How many times will Tinubu remove subsidy in less than 1 year? Do u know it is the poor masses not working for govt that are bearing the brunt of these decisions?? Marketers charging petrol at market cost is never the solution & scam! The system is corrupt period! |

There is no benefit to the average Nigerian! Removal of fuel subsidy is the major cause of this economy mess we are facing today. The only way govt can reduce this hardship is to restore fuel subsidy or reduce fuel price which ever way they can. They have been telling the masses to exercise patience, subjecting people to extreme hardship, but they the leaders don't want to compromise at all. Fuel is now selling for 850/900 per liter & it is still going up? Reduce fuel price & see if things won't naturally come down! |

I really believe restoring fuel subsidy is possible if Govt can deal with corrupt practices associated with the subsidy and also drastically cut down on cost of governance amongst others. Don't mind them! That's to tell u how evil minded our leaders are. They are never willing to compromise at all. At this point, I expect the president to restore fuel subsidy even if it is just for few months to cushion the hardship & avert this protest, but they will never do that, because it doesn't benefit them. Very selfish leaders. |
