Kenya is not nigeria. We are not waiting for Oil boom. All of them yes have started construction. All the 15 other CBDs in Nairobi outside - Upperhill, Westland and Old CBD are transforming from residential estate to commerical & office spaces. Kilimani is on the race to become a full Central Business Districts.

As for Tatu city - that is so far ahead - it had land dispute - but now it's on steroid!
Konza - horizontal infrastructure is being laid (roads, power, sewage) and the main project tower is nearing completion. South Korea are soon breaking ground to build something similar to their famed Science & Technology University there.
Northlands - The South Africans are busy building world class warehouses for industrial part.

Nairobi is on sterioid. The old CBD is pretty full - although there still some few ongoing constructions. We got upper hill and westland kicking arse. Then we have 15 other business districts all going crazy.And then we have 3 planned cities - mostly on the metro - Konza, Tatu and Northland. Those are self-contained cities - each planned for 250K people or around.

Nairobi itself is pretty much full. What is happening is just redevelopment. Knocking old structures for high rises.

Nairobi metro is where residential estates are being built.

Have they started the construction? That's what we're saying not by naming useless project

You're talking six desolate towers - that are probably un-occupied. Yeah it similar to Konza city (1 tower now). It far behind Tatu City & Northland City.

Look at Nairobi - new CBD - Westland and Upperhill - that didn't exist when Eko City started. The picture doesn't include OLD CBD. Majority of those high rises have been building the last decade - and lot more are underway - the same period Eko City started.

It a slowly day so let me respond to the resident idiot.

You can even aim for New York & Tokyo - why settle for Dubai in your dreamworld - but 4yrs from now - you'll have two desolate towers. Eko in started in 2008/2009 - and now it mere two towers completed.

When this thread started 2yrs ago - it was still 2 towers - and in 4yrs - we will still be talking 2 or 4 towers completed.

And note Eko City is very tiny - 5kms squared.

And 2yrs ago - This one Chinese investor had not started his SIX TOWERS in westland Nairobi - and now they are soon to be complete and occupied.

City just doesn't become DUBAI or JOBURG - you need to attract companies that will occupy those towers - and that is what Nairobi is doing - attracting global multinationals.
