I am only saying let's stay out of people's business if they dont want us in their business. If they wanted you to advise them about the authenticity of their union they would have said it here. By the way, I wasnt the one who dropped the initial message. vhickky: I said what I said.. deceiving people for papers is a common scourge now.
For your family’s visa, follow the same advice I gave, you should get it approved. |

Omo. you people can talk o. That last line was purely unnecessary. You don't even know the couple and you're asking a question about the genuineness of their union? As much as people come here to ask for advise, let's learn to give advise and move on please. vhickky: the siblings doesn’t have to attend the wedding.
He can try to add 1) accommodation arrangements for the parents 2) proof of funds in CAD for the parents from son 3) letter from bride with PR card to solidify the application
Lastly, I hope the marriage is genuine and this family is not just using the innocent lady to get permanent stay in Canada. |

To be honest, I think these guys are just refusing applications for the sake of it, also because of the pressure in social amenities. I applied for my wife and daughter to visit me in Canada (I am an international student). We demonstrated strong ties my wife has to Nigeria. She has 2 jobs (full time and part time), we submitted all employment letters, even submitted an introduction letter from her full time employer saying they are aware of her trip and granted her leave for the period. We submitted my wife's land documents. My wife helps her aged mother to manage her residential property and we submitted legal documents for this too. Even submitted investment agreement letter for a business she has investments in in Nigeria and birth certificates and photos of my wife and her siblings in Nigeria. Still the application was refused. They said her assets and financial situation isn't enough for the trip. They also said she is not financially established in her home country. My wife earns 1m monthly, submitted bank statement with over 16m. I submitted my own statement with over 7m too. And we submitted documents to show how the funds were gotten, payslips, invoices etc. The second reason is that she 'has significant ties to Canada'. That second reason didn't make sense to me because it's because of the ties she has to Canada that she applied for the Visa in the first place, does that disqualify her? Even when she has significant ties to Nigeria. This people matter tire person honestly. We have applied for GCMS note sha. Waiting to see what it says yoyome20: This is just my humble opinion, and of course, the GCMS notes will provide more clarity. From what I can gather, the visa officer may have doubts about your intention to return, possibly for the following reasons:
You mentioned your company was sponsoring a 7-day vacation to visit your mum. As others have pointed out, this might raise questions—why would your employer fund a personal family visit? Did you submit supporting documents like your payslip or a bank statement showing your monthly income, along with how you were able to save up the 15 million in your account? These are likely the kinds of questions the visa officer would be considering too.
Did you include a letter of invitation from your mum? And did you provide evidence of your relationship and explain why you’re visiting her?
What ties do you have to your home country, and did you clearly demonstrate those?
I’m still learning too, and I’m sharing this based on what I’ve picked up here and from mistakes I’ve personally made. Hopefully, once you receive the GCMS notes, you’ll have a clearer idea of what to adjust if you decide to reapply. |

I think he said the wife is a PR holder. Not a student affoncad: Firstly, the letter was dated two months ago. Why didn't you apply then? Additionally, you are using your wife's bank account to apply for the visa. She is a student in Canada, and you both manage the account together in dollars while you are based in Nigeria and she is in Canada. How does this arrangement work? However, your situation highlights a legitimate and compassionate need to be with your family during a challenging time. Given the medical urgency, you may still qualify for expedited processing of your visit visa, as determined by IRCC. So far, the medical bills are well covered by you or the student insurance, with no need to use public funds, so the visa officer should have no issues and I hope for a swift and positive resolution for you and your family |

Hello thanks for this. When you were applying for the visa visa, did you apply from your husband's IRCC account or created an account for yourself and applied through that? I am asking because I want to apply via my own account where my student permit was approved but the platform keeps thinking I (who is already in Canada as a student) is also applying for a visit visa honeycruize: I am not an expert on this but base on my experience been the wife of an international student in Canada who had a baby while my husband is off in Canada, I'll advise you read the IRCC portal well, there are some documents you need to submit for the child, HERE'S A LIST OF ALL THE DOCUMENTS I SUBMITTED Passport data page( mum and child) NIN (mum and child) Baby's birthday certificate Letter of purpose Sponsor's letter (My dad was the sponsor since he was my husband's sponsor too) Letter of authorisation Hubby's pay stub Proof of funds Home Ties( current employment letter, land documents, CAC documents) Biometrics Invitation letter Consent letter (for the baby, since he can't fill an application by itself) Hubby's study permit Hubby's proof of enrollment Hubby's account statement Family information form(download from IRCC portal) Baby's picture(which I turned to family picture further help as proof) Upfront Medical (not necessary according to IRCC portal) Marriage certificate Sponsor's passport Data page
Good luck, I'm not an expert This is just based on my personal experience and research while applying for my husband's study permit vistor visa for my Son and myself |

Please can anyone advice on this? I will really appreciate it jayciekey: Hi guys, please I need your input on this.
I am an international student in Canada currently taking a diploma course in a college. I started my studies this September 2024. I left Nigeria in August 2024. I want to apply for visit visa for my wife and daughter to be able to visit me while I am pursuing my studies. The intention is for them to visit me.
A little background: My wife had applied for visit visa in April 2024. The purpose of travel was tourism. In that visa application we didnt mention anything about my studies because I was still in Nigeria even though I had gotten my study visa. The visit visa was denied last month, October 2024. We requested GCMS note and that rejection was because the visa officer wasn't convince she has enough economies ties back home. it says the visa officer wasnt convince that she's financially and economically established in her home country.
We applied with 8m in her account and her employment letter as she earns 400k monthly.
Also to note that we gave birth to our daughter in September 2024 after I had left Nigeria. I left in August 2024.
Now I want to reapply for her and my child on the grounds that I haven't seen my child since she was born. So this time we are applying on the grounds that they want to visit me.
So this time I am inviting them to come visit me and we are applying with over 26m (14m in my own account and 12m in hers). I am thinking of adding everything I used as my home and economic ties to Nigeria in my study visa application into their visit visa application.
So my questions are: - What are the documents I'll need? - Can I apply from my own account or we apply from my wife's account? Or that doesnt matter? - Do we need to do Health insurance for both of them (my wife and child)? - Do we need Police report? - For the invitation letter, do I just write the letter myself? Or is there anything I need to do to give the invitation letter more weight?
Basically, I am seeking advise generally on how best to put in this application this time. Thanks |

Hello please can i have you contact via mail? I just sent you a mail Trydifferentjok: Hello everyone,
I applied for a Canada visit visa back in March with the intention of visiting my wife who is now studying in Canada. During this period, the visitor visa processing time from Nigeria on the IRCC page was 164 days which came to about early-mid September for a visa decision. At the time, I already had a U.S. visa appointment slated for April, and I knew that the Canada visa process is usually smoother and quicker with a valid U.S. visa but I chose to apply in March anyway because I truly wasn’t sure I would be granted the U.S. visa, and I didn’t want to delay my Canada visa application further.
Well, I was later granted the U.S. visa in April, nearly a month after submitting my Canada visa application, and til date, there has been no response from them (now well past the 164 day period). I submitted a web form not long after securing my U.S. visa to inform IRCC of the update in my status, but still no luck.
Has anyone else experienced similar delays lately, and do you suggest I reach out to IRCC for updates and/or to inform them of my valid U.S. visa again?
Thanks so much. |

I am not looking to have my wife give birth in Canada. I was asking to know if I should update IRCC about my study permit in my wife's visit visa application. We applied for my wife's visit visa in April 2024. Thanks for your input. Got it. kennyjoy: In my opinion, since your wife is pregnant, it would be best for her to have the baby in Nigeria while you focus on your studies. A one-month timeline isn’t practical for visa approval, submitting your passport, and booking a flight, which would be costly. Additionally, it’s not advisable for a pregnant woman to fly within a month of her due date. Bringing your wife to Canada on a visitor permit to give birth could cost you between $10,000 and $15,000, or even more unless you have the resources.
In conclusion, just wait for decision, don’t worry about updating IRCC for now, concentrate on your studies and I wish your wife a safe delivery. After the baby is born, apply for the newborn’s passport and include the child in the visa applications if they still wish to visit. That’s all. |

Hello everyone, I need your inputs.
I applied for a study visa in December 2023. I was approved in January 2024 (my studies is to begin in September 2024). I am enrolled in a diploma program in a college.
In April 2024, while I was still in Nigeria, I put in a visit visa application for my wife because they had banned SOWP for spouses of students in diploma programs.
While we were applying for my wife's visit visa in April, I was still in Nigeria so we applied for my wife's visit visa independently and that she's going to Canada as a tourist (tourist visa). I didnt mention my study visa in her application and also used myself her one of her hometies since I was still in Nigeria at the time of applying for her visit visa.
We haven't gotten a decision on her visit visa yet... This month (August) I have now arrived Canada to begin my studies next month (September) and I have gotten my study permit.
My question now is, do you think i should raise a webform on my wife's visit visa application to update IRCC about my studies? Or should we just wait for a decision?
Another thing to note is that my wife is currently pregnant and may deliver this month or next..
So what would you advise we do or how would you advise we proceed at this point? Thanks as I await your responses |

Please, anyone with suggestions? jayciekey: Hi everyone please I have a question.
I am traveling to Canada this weekend on a student visa.
My course is a 2-year course (4 terms) and my first year tuition fee about $22k.
Also note that, according to my school, the first year tuition fee of $22k is the tuition fee for the first 3 terms (out of 4 terms) of my studies.
Now my issue is this, I have paid tuition for the first term (the school allows tuition paid on term by term basis). First term tuition fee is $9,826. I have my receipt and school statement of account.
I am writing to ask if I will have issues at POE because of this (I mean because I havent paid the entire first year tuition fee of $22k).
I am also going along with 6 month bank statements of my Naira account with a balance of 19.4m and a USD account of just $2k USD (both accounts have inflows and outflows in that 6 months period)
Do you think I will have any issues at POE for this reason? |
