man thanks for this because I usually read up on reviews from people already there and it always seems like the negative reviews outweighs the good, that's why I asked

There are positive reviews too. Everyone has different paths you know. Just do your research, make adequate plans and prepare for the best and the worst.

Do i need to come with a letter from FRSC? When i show my Nigerian license what type pf Class 5 will i get?

Your Nigerian licence makes you eligible to do either Basic or Advanced road test for Class 5. This depends on how many years you have on your Nigerian licence.
FRSC letter is needed when getting auto Insurance, together with an Insurance no claims letter from your Insurance company.

Good day all, please people in Edmonton should help me with the 'normal' range for tenancy/apartment insurance as our property manager has requested for it. Apartment is in the northwest area. Rbc insurance saying 308cad/annum without the option of paying per monthly for the policy chosen. Abeg what's the norm for newcomers and /or alternatives. Make person no go enter one chance abeg, I thought this bill was supposed to be paid monthly. Also, hubby went for knowledge test today and was told to bring utility bill showing proof of address. We don't have that yet as we have been staying with our family friends. Opened accounts with Rbc and phone lines with public . What other document can be used for the purpose of the knowledge test ? Thank you.pls forgive my typos. Don't want to make mistakes. Please I beg to be added to the Edmonton watsap group.

You can send me a message so that I forward the Telegram link to you.

Hello good people

I would be landing with my wife in Calgary by mid-March. I'd like to join any WhatsApp group of people in Calgary where we can get help and guide with settling down. Please PM me if any is available/open that I can join.

Also, while Airbnb remains an option, please I don't mind exploring shared accommodation that we can settle for, right before landing in mid--March. Any one, with helpful information, please reach out to me.

Many thanks

Just incase you need a discount for the Airbnb, you can book through this link -->

Hi everyone, i'm new here. Please I need help in respect of this issue:

My husband is resident in Canada and he recently got his PR as the principal applicant. However, I got a mail requesting for my international passport yesterday and part of the requirement for submission is that my passport should have at least 6 months validity. Currently, my passport has 4 months validity and i don't know how to go about this. I have tried to make contacts with immigration but no one could guarantee when i would get the new passport.
The problem now is, do i go ahead and submit the old passport with 4 months validity or wait to get a new one? also i would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience.

Thanks

Get a new passport and email cic to ask for an extension, they'll give you. My passport eventually came out before my extension started sef. Those immigration officers just need extra money so grease their palms wella.

Good morning elders in the house, here is a question from a friend:
Is it appropriate for me to receive money from my Dad as a means of building up my proof of funds and should the said amount entered my account once?.
Thanks for your kind response sir/ ma

Yes, everything can enter at once and referred to as a "Gift Deed". Get notarized document from the court on this too.

Seniors in the health field pls I need your advice, I'm very confused on what to do. I got my copr last month. I was sponsored by my brother as a dependent child. I graduated as a medical Laboratory scientist last month from a school here in Nigeria. As a medical laboratory science graduate, you have to go for 1 year internship. My question is that should I just to do a soft landing and then come back to do my internship and then travel back or is it possible for me to do my internship in Canada so as to qualify to do the certification exam.
Thanks as you reply

From the screenshot you sent; I checked the cic website for the Open Work permit and they're referring to skilled workers who are here on temporary residence, and not permanent.
You can seek advice from immigration consultants though.

Hi guys, so i was thinking, i don't know if anyone has tried this before. I need your inputs and your opinion on this. I saw the highlighted while doing my research on how to bring a spouse to Canada as a permanent resident. Is it not possible to apply for PR for your spouse and while the application is in the pipeline apply for a work permit for her since work permit get approved within few months compared to PR for spouse that takes almost or over a year

Please who has used Ethiopian air. I intend to book with them as they are the cheapest so far. Are there any down sides to using them? Please awaiting response urgently.
I used them in June, no complaints. Their flights are timely and I liked the food. Some didn't like the food though, so you might want to take some snacks along.

Hi guys, someone mentioned sometime ago about an online store you could get very discounted winter jackets during the summer months. I would be very grateful if someone could respond to me with the link. I've been searching the threads since and cant seem to find it.
This depends on your location. Currently, Mountain Warehouse in Edmonton are having clearance sales.

Hello House, please what type of medications are not allowed into Canada?

Do I need to get Doctor's prescription for my medication?

I have gotten lonart, fansidar, flagyl, antibiotics, piriton, loratidine, paracetamol, eye drop, fungi cream, tetracycline and high blood pressure medication.

Will be landing next week by God's grace
No room for mistake

Thank you

I travelled with all those medication, except the one for high BP. Nobody searched me and no questions were asked.
