OhBritannia: Kingdom 4 return of the great general is a solid 10/10 for me.
This movie and the entire movie franchise are too solid. One of the best run of movies i have ever seen in my life. Hollywood needs to come and learn how to create a 10/10 movie with millions of fans all around the world without adding any woke rubbish. General Ouki to me is the star of the franchise prior to his death. The man was not just an icon, he was a teacher, a leader, a demi god and the best. Whoever came up with the idea of how his death will look like, the person deserves a pay rise. That scene of his death where he dropped the sword for Shin and died while sitting on top of his majestic horse 🐴, that scene alone is one of the most memorably movie scene in movie history. I hope the actor wins many awards for his role.
Every other cast of the movie did really great, they all outperformed their roles. The movie is filled with so many majesty names and generals. And let us not forget the war scenes, the fight scenes, their ability to strategise for battles. A battle isn't just won by fighting but by strategy. A single flawed strategy will ruin you and your men.
Seeing the way things ended, i honestly believe there will be a part 5. I can't wait for it probably next year. It's based on a manga, you know. Its manga is regarded as one of the best ever. Then they adapted it to anime which also became one of the best ever. I haven't seen the show but it's good to know that they didn't mess it up. |

brain54: Do you have inferiority complex...?
Firstly you haven't heard Victor's side of the story yet. This is still an allegation. You can't jump into conclusions. Don't do that.
Secondly I can point out numerous stories of non nigerians that have done worse things. Including top white celebrities... Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Justin Bieber, kanya west, Orlando bloom, Wiz kalifer to mention a few have assaulted or punched photographers in the past. I wonder why you would come here and type to make it a Nigerian thing.
What brings wizkid's name into this matter? Has he ever acted violently before in public? How did you end up roping civil servants in all of this?
They are many level headed Nigerians with money. Your statement is quite unfortunate to say the least. It smirks of a very high level of inferiority.
You seem like you still hold a grugde against osimen about the finidi episode... Even finidi has moved on and forgetten that issue.
Osimen is human like everyone else... He hasn't become a super hero just because he has money. Why was the photographer even stalking him till late at night when he was coming from a club?
Na wah for you! Yes, tell him. I was about to curse him before but I don calm down now as I see your sensible and reasonable comment. Well done. |

izombie: American Primeval 9/10 for me. Totally enjoyed. Action galore from beginning to the end. Everyone is looking for who to kill, everyone is looking to survive. Women really struggled in those years. So difficult to be a woman then. Couldn't even go anywhere in peace. This is my next watch. I already watched one episode a few days ago and I loved it. I just wanted to finish A Shop for Killers first. |

A Shop for Killers (2024) series is a masterclass in suspense, action, and storytelling. From its brutal fight choreography to its edge-of-your-seat tension, this K-drama delivers a gripping experience that I absolutely loved. The series combines dark, emotionally charged moments with jaw-dropping action, particularly in its season finale, which is hands-down one of the most intense and action-packed conclusions I've ever witnessed.

BlackManta: That trans guy is one of the my favourite characters
He is not a weak person who wants people to feel sorry for him and he never made his whole personality about his trans thing.
He talked about his transition for like 5 minutes and never mentioned it again.
He is brave, strong, smart and did his best to protect his friends.
You know the one character that ended up disappointing me. The young man that claimed he was a marine.
They asked this guy to go get more ammo and he let everyone down.
I thought Marines were military guys.
How is a trans person showing more courage than an ex-marine?
The guy fall my hand no be small.
I wish he'd died. The trans guy is also ex military and a genuine good character. But yeah, that other marine guy turned out to be a coward. I honestly found Squid Game 2 to be underwhelming. They should have stopped at 1. I honestly found season |

Romance › Re: Ladies Who Love Bad Guys May End Up Like This. by JayVicky: 11:26am On Dec 27, 2024 |
Samantha125: The post is very true... Sometimes some of us ladies would be labelling men trash because we'd be in denial of the fact that we have a trashy taste in men.
I have this one sister who hasn't been lucky in relationships to a point that the family started looking down on her and regarded her as the black sheep of the family for being in multiple failed relationships... Because two of us are married to our high school boyfriends while one is married to her varsity boyfriend.
She's the only one with multiple failed relationships together with two kids from two different baby daddies... All her exes treated her like trash and her baby daddies don't even care about the kids... I once even confronted one of them for abandoning his own child, but the guy didn't seem to care... My sister was still willing to do anything to continue being with these guys until they finally ghosted her.
Now she's engaged to this wonderful man who was willing to overlook her flaws and adopt her children as his own, the guy's family also love her, but this sister of mine has all of a sudden started growing some wings and taking the guy's goodness for granted... Sometimes she'd be acting as if she's doing him a favour by being with him and I don't like it one bit, but there's nothing I can do.
She lied to the guy about her monthly salary and immediately they got engaged, she asked me to open a second savings account from another bank so that every month she could deposit a certain amount from her monthly salary into the account just so the guy can continue giving her that monthly allowance... If it happens that she wants something and the guy is short of cash, she'd then ask me to sent her a certain amount from that same account, so it can seem as if I'm the one who borrowed her the money because the account was registered in my personal details... I tried talking her out of it, but she wouldn't take a no for an answer.
When the guy asks her where she got the money, she'd lie by telling him that she borrowed it from me knowing very well that the guy would start feeling bad and looking for a way to repay me, but the truth is that, that money never gets to me... She'll spent it on herself... Now the guy recently bought a new car and my sister is already planning on manipulating him into giving her the car. It's really sad to see the way the world treats nice guys. They are pushed, tested, and manipulated until they have no choice but to show their dark side. |

oyaskii: That's why i would still fault the writing. She wasn't just a "desk officer", she was a MI6 agent, a former police officer and a firearm expert, so she was quite equipped for the job. If not she wouldn't have been tasked with capturing a well skilled international assassin.
My point, is that, you can't just build her character like that, only for her to go out like a light, without so much of a bloody fight!...seemed a tad anticlimactic to me, and way to many plot armour to ensure the Jackal comes out unscathed each time.
And i am seeing way too much hate for Bianca everywhere, whilst all she's ever done was to catch an international assassin dropping bodies left, right and center. Her only crime in all this, was she probably overestimated her abilities and underrated the Jackal...Big..Big... mistake. That wasn't her only crime. Remember that she also got her informant's daughter killed and didn't even bother to inform her parents. In fact, it was because of Bianca that the informant's family all got killed. I'm glad that there were eventually consequences for her actions at the end of the day. |

Predestin: No show made me anxiously waiting for the next episode like Special Ops 2. None, It was up beat from Episode 1 - 8 no dull moment every episode was a Hit back to back. Only Jackal comes close. like someone said here maybe it's because it's Season 2 already. If that's how it made you feel, then that's fair enough. This season was certainly better than the first. |

oyaskii: I know it seems superficial to whittle it down to just "race", but here is a clear context...
Jonathan Majors was casted as a main villain in our of the most successful franchises in cinema history, like they were going to make movies and series based off his character, and if you don't think, and you don't think talent got him there?
I am not saying, he's on the scale of J.K. Rowling, but his career trajectory was the brightest that it could have been, and to lose it over a misdemeanour charge in the 3rd degree??, there is no way the outcome isn't different if he was white...no way. Of course his talent got him there. I wasn't implying that he isn't talented. You have to also consider that he was working for Marvel who were on their full throttle feminist movement at the time and so, they probably felt like there was no way they could keep on a guy who allegedly beat up a woman. Him being black just adds to that. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by JayVicky: 2:27pm On Nov 21, 2024 |
oyaskii: RE:
Thinking about this again and I can't help but think her being white had a major hand
I remember how Jonathan Majors' career was headed for the very top after Lovecraft Country, like he was supposed to herald an era of young black leads, to replace Denzel, Cheadle and the likes, and how it all crash landed after those allegations, that was basically reduce to a misdemeanour in the 3rd degree, and yet his career is basically like precum, a total full stop...and no important black figure has spoken out in support, for fear of been blacklisted..... sickening.
I think it would have been a far different outcome, if he was from Caucasus Mountains. I didn't use to believe it before, but as a black man, you will need to work x4 than people of other races, and pray you don't trip, cuz there is no coming back after that....talent is not just enough as a black person.
And Black people sef, we are so disunited, no other races is taking us seriously, the way we are. Just look at how the Jews people after the Holocaust, decided to be united across the world and occupy the upper echelons of world power, and since then, nobody messes with them.... Israel is damn near commiting a genocide and a systemic ethnic cleansing, and the whole western world is turning a blind eye.... just a food for thought....
Sorry for the political digress....but we as black have to do better, we have to start pulling our weight in this world....😞 Is it just a "black" thing though? JK Rowland was able to come back not just because of her skin color but because she holds far more influence than Jonathan Majors. Influence that was built through years of hard work and pure talent. While I do agree with your point about blacks being held to different standards than whites sometimes, I just think it's a little bit unfair and simplistic to say that it's just because of their races. Also, you have to consider the nature of the controversy. JK Rowling got into trouble due to her ideological stance while Jonathan Majors faced criminal allegations. One is easier to bounce back from than the other. |

If you try to go against them you get blacklisted from roles. Post small right wing rhetoric you don enter am. Post extreme left wing rhetoric highest na apology go end am you will still get jobs.
Just fast forward through their nonsense and move. If you have kids then you have to do alot of work these days.
