Christianity Etc3 Reasons Why Some Christians Are Broke by Jbsrecord(op): 6:40am On Jun 09, 2017
1. Christians who are lazy are broke. The Scriptures admonish us as believers to be diligent in everything that we do. The Scriptures also promise us that if we are lazy, we will suffer poverty. Here are some Scriptures from Proverbs that warn us about being lazy:
"The sluggard will not plow because of the cold; therefore he will beg during harvest and have nothing" (Prov. 20:4).
"He becomes poor who deals with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich" (Prov. 10:4).
"The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent will be made fat" (Prov. 13:4).
"How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep—so will your poverty come upon you like a stalker, and your need as an armed man" (Prov. 6:9-11).
"He also who is slothful in his work is brother to him who is a great waster" (Prov. 18:9).
And in the New Testament it says this: "For when we were with you, we commanded you that if any will not work, neither shall he eat" (2 Thess. 3:10).

Remember this as well, procrastination is a first cousin to laziness because it puts off today what should be done today until tomorrow. When God gives us directions to do something, we should be immediately obedient to what He says.

2. Many Christians who are disobedient are broke. In Deuteronomy 28, God gives us a promise of wealth and prosperity when we do what He asks us to do. But when we disobey His commands, the Scriptures promise use that we will be cursed and live a life of poverty. "Now it will be, if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, then the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth" (Deut. 28:1).

Isaiah 1:19 states, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." God has promised us blessings and prosperity when we are faithful to do what He has told us. However, we can expect poverty, lack, and insufficiency when we disobey Him.

3. Many Christians who walk in unforgiveness are broke. Unforgiveness is probably the most common transgression that people commit. This is primarily because not forgiving someone feels good to our flesh. When we do not forgive people in our flesh, we feel vindicated because that (those) person(s) hurt us. Not forgiving makes us feel that we are getting back at that person.

What's so deceptive about unforgiveness is this: Not forgiving somebody does not hurt the other person. Usually the person who hurt you has no knowledge that they hurt you. And if they do, most of the time, they do not care. Holding on to unforgiveness only hurts you because God says if you do not forgive the person who offended you, He is going to judge you—not the other person.

When Jesus asked His disciples, "How many times should you forgive somebody?" Peter replied "Seven times!" Peter thought he had really said something profound. However Jesus corrected him and said, "No. You forgive 70 times seven" (paraphrase of Matt. 18:22). In essence, Jesus was saying that we need to forgive people unto infinity. Jesus then gave a warning about people who refused to forgive others. He said that those who refuse to forgive will be delivered to the tormentors (Matt. 18:24).

This word "tormentors" may also include demonization. In 15 years of facilitating deliverances, I have seen many, many cases of people who were tormented by demons because they refused to forgive someone. In this Scripture, Jesus is very clear on this issue: People who walk in unforgiveness will not be forgiven their debts. "His master was angry and delivered him to the jailers until he should pay all his debt" (Matt. 18:34).God is saying here that He will allow us to remain in debt until we forgive. Have you been praying for supernatural debt cancellation? According to the Scriptures, it won't happen until you remove all unforgiveness.

"When he concentrates on cash, or young ladies, or whatever it is outside of battling, things will go downhill. You can just concentrate on battling. No religion, nothing. You can just concentrate on that when the battle is over."

BusinessBest Ways To Move From Employee To An Employer Of Labour by Jbsrecord(op): 10:27am On Jun 03, 2017
In an economy like Nigeria where there are lots of unemployed individuals everywhere, those with low and high income jobs get so glued to it so as not to fall into the unemployment market. It is a pity that many do not realize the importance of proper timing before taking any decision because a single wrong one can make the next twenty years of such person’s life a miserable one.
If you are lucky to have a job and people are saying salary job is not reliable especially with the economic system and so on, it is very correct but with the right understanding that you cannot just leave that job feeling you have saved enough to venture into a business. Everything in life requires techniques and quality inquiry from successful people who have also taken the kind of decision you want to take and succeeded at it.
Considering the fact that multiple streams of income is the major key to unending wealth, it must also be noted that a salary job is an income and adding a business to it while still doing that job is the real multiple income. I remember an individual I know of who was a manager at Portland cement and had a son in a private university in Nigeria but got sacked without any prior notification or signs, and this is a man that gets the latest gadgets anytime he sees an unveiled one. As I put down this article, the man has gone down to a very poor state. But assuming there was a running business alongside the job, he will be cool if not to his previous status.

Main Points to be considered
1. Do not leave your job to start a business
So many individuals make such mistake always, when they feel cheated by their boss or no longer convenient with the environment and also feel they should earn more than their current income. Most of these organizations started a very long time ago and took years before they stood firm in their area of covering. As a new business man getting into the market with your business idea, meeting up with already existing brands and standing out might take sometimes with no income involved. So how do you want to survive?
2. Do not take existing staff to form your own business
Starting a business does not mean destroying an existing platform where you raised fund from. Do not (in any form) try to take away any staff with a promise of better salary package to form your business, it is not a professional approach and most times doesn’t get down well.
3. Make sure the business can survive on its own before coming in fully
A business should be able to stand on its own before you come in fully. Your own salary should not be used to pay staff or cover for any expense but if such still happens then it is not advisable you come into such business fulltime for now. Give it time and I even suggest you continue your salary job for now till the business gets its fit well.
4. Take advantage of the current unemployment
Where others see problems I see opportunities. We have numerous graduates outside bent on getting a white collar job which you can take advantage of in the sense that while doing your own salary job, get a graduate and give him a big post like Manager, Supervisor, etc but with a low income which will not affect the business survival and growth. Do not be surprised that it is the latest trend seriously working for wise business men now. They employ a qualitative graduate and give him a big post but the take home pay is nothing to write home about and of course it is obvious to the employee that the company is just starting off so he/she takes it just to earn something.
I believe with this methods you should be able to run a job and business at the same time and in my next article I will list out businesses you can run very well while still involved with a job.

EducationA Letter To Undergraduates In Nigeria by Jbsrecord(op): 12:48pm On Jun 01, 2017
A heart of truthfulness i put down this piece to all undergraduates in Nigeria giving them the reasons to think in a different dimension compared to the normal curriculum.
It has been a normal way of life to finish from secondary school with a good/average/poor result then UTME, get admission, and finish with different classes of degree then after NYSC, job hunting begins. For some job comes a year after serving their father’s land and some till about 5 years or more which leads to the acceptance of any kind of available job just for the purpose of survival.
Now, my point is this, with the same trend of occurrence for years, why can’t there be a change of thought? the university ground is an independent environment where an individual can make/mar his or her future and there are numerous opportunities untapped in the same environment.
A student should be conscious of the fact that NYSC has three (3) batches in a year and each batches also have streams. For example, each state do have three thousand (3000) core members per batch i.e. in a year every state do produce 9000 corpers which means 9000 multiplied by 36 will give a total of 324,000 corpers minimum in Nigeria every year. The question you and I would ask ourselves is which companies are they going into or how many companies are really functioning well or existing in Nigeria to cover for all of them? This is the major reason why companies make graduates pass through ambiguous stages of interview coupled with unimaginable take home pay just to cut down people. I remember when I was called for an interview at a bank in Nigeria (2015), I was told after series of test that I would be offered thirty thousand naira (N30, 000) monthly on the condition that as a marketer I would meet up with a target of three million naira monthly.

I just smiled and left immediately because I had a business in place already which is better than such but an individual which no other hope anywhere and pile of responsibilities on the list would have no choice than to take it then might leave after first or second month of not meeting up.
Despite all these issues, solutions are in the hands of everyone out there but basically for undergraduates, you can start something while in school. Learn a trade, hair dressing, fashion designing, graphic design, barbing, baking etc. We have great individuals who are making real money today without using what they studied in school e.g. MOJI CEO (mojidelano.com) a former lawyer, Linda Ikeji (Lindaikejisblog.com), Oluyomi Ojo (Printivo.com), etc. They all started very small but are well recognized today which means you really need to think out of the norm instead of carrying CV all around like everyone.

Business do take some time but you will be saved lots of time when you start from your school days coupled with lots of experiences and remember your friends, room mates and course mates will be your first customers to advertise you.
Think of the following
1. What do I love to do and will like to do?
2. What extra can I do at school?
3. How can I get extra income?
Please be rest assured that this will not affect your academics in any way when you take it as an additional 4 unit course and it is not everyone that wants to become full time entrepreneurs but be rest assured that this can bring you some income before that good job will come in.
Points to hold unto
1. Do not wait till you are done with school before asking yourself what’s next
2. Get every skill you need now while in school because you might not know which will save you later
3. Always pray to God because he never fails.
Feel free to drop your comment or opinion below.
Yours Faithfully
