You are free to discredit anyone, but when you do try to educate the people better.

Unlike meat, fish marinades don’t require a long time to infuse the fish with flavor. As fish is more delicate than chicken or beef, avoid leaving strong citrus-based marinades on fish for more than 10 to 15 minutes or you will end up with ceviche. The acid in ingredients such as lemons or limes will “cook” the fish if given the time.

Go Dry Instead if you want to prepare your fish in advance or allow to seat for hours

If you want the convenience of preparing your fish in advance and leaving it overnight in the fridge, you're better off with a dry rub than a wet, acidic marinade. Seasoning the fish ahead of time gives it plenty of time for the flavors to get into the surface of the fish, which is naturally filled with little nooks and crannies. Most flavorings won't penetrate beyond the surface anyway, but having them well rubbed into the surface is the next best thing. Salt is an exception to the not-penetrating rule. It will absorb into the fish's cell walls overnight, so your fillet will taste well-seasoned all the way through.

Note I'm not saying you cant marinate your fish for few hours, when you do you will end up with ceviche. The acid in ingredients such as lemons or limes will “cook” the fish if given the time.

How I cook my fish sometimes. @ Akposy photo below.

It's not everything you see online that you copy and paste. You got the meaning of "ceviche " totally wrong
This is a dead giveaway. You should have proof read before hitting submit

lol. I've heard.

I expect you to start funding my fish eating henceforth. That shouldn't be an issue

you can buy ponmo or kote.

Its not a must to eat tilapia. Save your money until you can afford the more mature and ripe ones that are due for harvest

I'm not in Lagos. Thanks for the offer.....
lol @killing those poor babies. You day make me feel like murderer

Actually you are. I will NEVER eat a baby fish. Hell NO!!!!
The environment is getting degraded everyday and its our duty to protect and save it for the next generation. Not just eat anything we see because it looks good. If you don't have money buy periwinkle, ponmo or bigger but unhealthy fish like Kote lol

Don't buy/eat baby fishes whether at your local market or restaurant

The local market

In Lagos?

I can order fresh fish for you any type of your choice and all you have to do is go pick it up, cook it and post it here
They are decent sized and that should discourage you from killing those poor babies

Mariangeles:

Most fishes do not need much seasoning na...if it can't be eatable with just common salt, then it's not worth the time and effort

nah that's some damn Caucasian style.

You don't even have to use salt, throw the best natural seasoning and let it marinate for a few hours not minutes as some environmentally unfriendly and gay folks are suggesting

I am more of a saltwater fish kinda lad and I find them tastier and somewhat healthier than freshwater fishes even though I will try smoked catfish once in a while

. . . but gone are the days when roadside women just sprinkle salt on fish and fry, while I must confess it taste good, however this is the 21st century and adding better seasoning asides salt will make a fish meal more appealing and healthier.
