The CVT on Nissan especially dem Murano n co is smthgelse. Now on documentries, its bn said d@ Honda's new CVT is beta than Nissans. Nissan n probably Mitsubishi r som of d sweetest FWD in d Asian collection. V owned a maxima n it was sweet except 4 d fuel ofcos. An avrge or shd I say a lot of peeps d@ buy Jap mobile aint afta speed so Toyota in its wisdom makes cars d@ will take u easily from point A to B n if u want d lil fun added to it u'll probably end up gettin Honda whch cld b finer dan toyotas bt Nissan seem 2 go a lil more 2 d extreme(for non car-speed freaks)whch affects dem. Well d@ bn said,i still love me some G35 (VQ engine, best engine award). |
@car doctor, nice 1 from u. Keep it up. I hav bn using Dextron III on my car,I just recently used d Sea horse Dextron III,do I still change it to ATF-Z1? How many will I need for a V6 EOD? I await ur prompt response. Thanks. |
Guys, its really worrying to read of such wicked and malicious rumor. How on earth will som1 wuz a passenger c the engine of an MD83 from inside? Yet y'all keep abusing govt,Indians etc, dont u fink we shd start with ourselves first? Fine,it isnt all of us that are aviators but its only logical to research on things b4 posting them. If u r ds dumb to believe ds crap witot researchin, then ur not fit to abuse any govt,Indian, heck u shdnt even abuse anybdy on NL. For the record,am an aviator and I DONT WORK WITH DANA. @manny4 is right,@lest for most of the things he said, jus dont b 2 harsh on dem. i rest my case. |
elektra80: +1 for u. The same point I've been trying to make. It will take something extraordinary to convince a gasoline engine user to switch to diesel. Its not a case if follow follow , or bandwagon propaganda like Mr ikenna would say.. Petrol powered cars are still most cars (by a wide margin ) allover the world, not just in Nigeria, and not just in the USA.Exactly 1 of d things I tried to say. Guys,so as to avoid unnecessary repitition, Ikenna and co don't seem to agree likewise elektra etc.I feel peeps should only post new info n nt repeat. Op wht do u think? #Just sayin |
Siena: Correct.Point taken. How about d oda points I made? |
Thermal efficiency is gud in diesel. "Accordin to d British Society of Motor Manufacturin and Traders, d EU average 4 diesel cars account for 50% of d total sold, includin 70% in France and 38% in d UK" Please take note of d 38% in UK(So its not TOTALLY a 9ja thingy) I believe its a general ish. Even with manufacturers,on d whole,u v more 'non-diesel' cars than u have diesel. Else if it was down to strictly "copying yankee',how come we have few American cars(Parent Company in America and not 'built for American market')in 9ja.How many cadillacs, chevys, dodges, pontiacs,GMCs,Lincolns etc do we v hia?'Diesel exhaust is well known 4 its xtic smell; but this smell in recent yrs has bcom much less because d sulfur is now removed from d fuel in d oil refinery.Diesel exhaust has been found to contain a long list of toxic air contaminants. Among dese pollutants, fine particle pollution is perhaps d most important as a cause of diesel's harmful health effects.''Naturally aspirated diesels tend to lack power and torque at d top of their speed range. This narrow band is a reason why a vehicle such as a truck may have a gearbox with as many as 18 or more gears, to allow d engine's power to be used effectively at all speeds. ' Naturally aspirated diesels, almost without exception, have a lower power output than a petrol engine of d same capacity whilst d same time requiring stronger (and thus heavier) internal components such as d pistons and crankshaft to withstand greater stresses of diesel engine's operatin cycle. These factors give naturally aspirated diesels a poor power-to-weight ratio.Diesel engines v longer life span but r xpensive and make use of heavy materials.Diesel is less readily available, glow plugs in diesel engines require u w8 b4 startin so it cld heat up.Diesel engines, because of weight and compression ratio, tend to hav lower maximum RPM ranges than gasoline engines, this makes diesel engines high torque rather than high horsepowa and that tends to make diesel cars slow in terms of acceleration. Many of d new diesel engine designs usin advanced computer control are eliminatin many of these disadvantages --smoke, noise, vibration and cost are all declinin. In d future, we are likely to see many more diesel engines on the road. Its worthy to note d@ an average Nigerian does not drive a car made 2010 upwards 4 example talkmore of drivin a new car, well @lest from wia I de(South West, ignore gidi) and whch means a lot of ds improvmnts on diesel engine might nt b available on wht they ride whch leaves room for only d rich n probably d enthusiast.d rich wu isn't an enthusiast(whch's most likely wht an avrage rich Nigerian isnt)will probably base hs judgement on d historical disadvantages of diesel n hence won't go 4 diesel. |
@234Customcars,cld u leme hav d contact details of d Oregus guy pls? Plus what's d details on d 328ci? Mileage, cost, VIN, color, Rim size , etc. |
Ofcos d Bimmer is a beta ride compared to d Merc(mind u,aint talkin abt d money involved o). Chk ds out. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/mercedes-benz-c240-page-3 |
GLA n CLA,cheap benz. Benz 4 everybdy,FWD. In my own opinion,d idea of FWD benz doesn't sound appealing plus d GLA looks like murano(looks more Japanese than German). Open 2 corrections if any. |
Hello @viperman,is viperautos still providing this service? If yes, which states enjoy it? |
Last price? |
Send picture,LAST price,location to jcshollie@yahoo.com Sounds like its V6. |
Well said @tolupe. Some peeps r just so stupid wif dir ignorance. |
hello house,@sienna,@yungboss and whoeva that can help, what do y'all think about an E46 Diesel that has now been converted to petrol? @shevalync,wia is ur mechanic located in Ilorin and hope he was able to fix it well. @yungboss,pls i'll need the manual of E46 2004,kindly email it to jcshollie@yahoo.com. Thanx guyz. |
i agree with @viperman. its important to remember that an average person that bus a manual car is more of a racing enthusiast (which i am too!). peeps buys cars for various reasons, its just like arguing that v6 is a better engine than I4,peeps that buy I4 should have thier reasons likewise us that likes V6. one thing you should put into consideration is that an average person(in this part of the world) sees a car as something to convey him from one destination to the other, period!the impression peeps have about manual and auto defi varies, some will tell you that 504 for example had a very hard clutch so why should they go for manual, whilst some will tell you that the datsun auto tranny was jerky then so why should he still stick with auto. the auto/manual thingy is more of a personal belief pls and not mental ish like some1 put. i like the fact that som1 even talked about arthritis(thumbsup).pls house,go for whatever makes you happy, just rmba to cultivate good servicing habit. cheers. |
hi guys, nice topic. however,i will like to correct the wrong notion about manual givin beta gas miles, not all manual transmission does that. If you get the idea behind torque converter,u will agree with me that some auto conserves gas better than thier manual variant. The secret of making a torque converter automatic work efficiently is a matter of matching gearing and lock-up with the torque characteristics of the engine.Honda has been able to achieve better economy figures for its 2.4i petrol engined torque converter autos than for the manuals. In as much as i agree with most of the points stated by sienna, i will also like to say that in this part of the world, auto cars have better second hand value than manual. |
i will like to disagree with the last comment,TCS light coming on and off has nothing to do with the road with it indicates that there is a problem with the traction control system. If you check, you will notice that the ABS light is on too, for honda, the TCS and ABS are works together and wheneva its on, it means the traction control/ABS wont work most likely because the sensor there is spoilt. Please get a professional to help you fix it, it shouldnt be expensive but if you want to leave it like that, your car will still work, except that the ABS/TCS wont work so your brakes will function as a normal/regular one. |
