Means ur mains is on and ur system is not inverting at that moment, ur bypass capacity is always higher than that of ur inverter, check ur inverter manual for clarity.
Ayomipoe:
Please, my hybrid inverter shows bypass and the charging indicator is solid green not blinking even when my battery is 13.4v.
Please what is the meaning of bypass

True
Drgreatone:

But when he wants to upgrade later, u know the 180w panels and to some extent the pwm would become useless. In solar, u always want to prepare for the future in terms of expansion. I'd suggest he gets his 300w panels and a 60amp mppt charger if money isnt a problem. All he has to do later to upgrade would be adding panels +/- battery upgrade while still making use of the mppt.

How do i get a trusted distributor/seller.
I'm based in Lagos

See eh, it's almost very difficult getting anyOne trusted. Even when you get the Trusted ones (very few importers), the prices they would quote would drive you away.

na when problem start we dey begin complain.

But there are lots of them in ojo-Alaba Lagos, & Arena @ Oshodi Lagos.

But all in all, you need have idea or rely on an installer that wouldn't eat your money so much it ends up affecting the job
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 2:25pm On Feb 16
Buy original 550w jinko. 6 pieces is ok for ur 2.8kw setup. I hope u know there limit to the amount of current u can pull from ur tubular batteries so u don end up with a tired battery after just 1yr of use
U can buy from trusted distributor n sellers. Just don't buy anywhere
Mojavee:
This is Similar to my ongoing current solar situation.

The solar Engineer has already helped me get a New 2 (VACUNA) tubular battery. 220ah
I plan on running it with a 3.5va Inverter This has also been purchased by him

I had told him I would be getting the solar panels myself because the prices he gave on the quotation is actualy on the higher side. He suggested I purchase 12 solar panels (350waats/400watts),

Due to the fact that I said i would be running it with a chest freezer.

I am on the search for solar new solar pannels that would serve me

Are they anyone solar pannel brand you could recommend?

Or do you have relaible solar panel dealer

Thanks

Hello sir. I'm in Ibadan

Any installer in Ibadan?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 6:41am On Feb 16
Buy single 540 or 550w jinko with the mppt CC then. Future upgrade will not stress u n ur pocket.
If ure using 12v it's cheap to av pwm CC with 190w panel than d 1 ure considering that if u don't plan to upgrade in near future.
That 300w(2) panel ure looking into might not even produce more than 400w max. N buy from people that advertise here eg trippletems, zeestones, justcallemmanuel etc u can easily call Dem out here if dey dont supply u original.
mvphenryeto5:

I'm using 12v just one 160ah ba3, why do you suggest Pwm CC?

I'm thinking of getting two 300w Pv and 60a Cc

Both are original but different variant
mvphenryeto5:
Guys I saw two different Powmr CC of 60a which is the original?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:53pm On Feb 15
If ur system is 24v up. Just buy 400w upwards jinko from fouani, gennex or other trusted suppliers on this platform and get an mppt to it. If ure using 12v get new 180/190w panels, that's with 18v 10a ratting on their sticker n get pwm CC.

I need original mono Pv panels 250 or 300watts,

I bought a solar panel today..jinko panel from fouani, looking at the panel from one angle, a cell is slightly blueish in color instead of the normal black, is that a reason to worry?

18a is to poor for 5 300w o. I no the sun these past few days is not as bright as b4 but my 3 330w panels give 20-23a at the moment

Currently clocking 18amps at max on my 60amps mppt controller
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:58am On Feb 05
What max wattage does ur panels generate. What kind of battery do you have.
emmaniche:

Boss. Thanks.
Sud I upgarde the inverter or add more solar panels.
My mind is kind of set on upgrading the solar panels and later add 3.5kva inverter 48v.
Whats ur take?

Thanks boss. God bless

There is a seller here that sells variable output voltage charger here, Valto. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/1131#110684591

But if you don't like the charger due to cost or availability, you can buy a normal charger and get a variable DC to DC buck converter like this type from Konga with image attached below that can take a DC input (say a normal 12v charger's output) as input with variable DC output with you can use to do top balancing

Does anyone know where I can get this kind of charger in Nigeria? 3.65v 5a

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:19am On Jan 28
And I hope ur battery is either li-ion or lifepo4 cause pushing 60a down the throat of a single lead acid battery (12v) or 1400w into 24v battery (2 12v) is not advisable.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:12am On Jan 28
For 12v system with pwm u cant connect all in parallel, max u should do is 4, if ur panels really output 180w otherwise do 5 n use 10mm cable. For 24v 2s4p, that's 8 panels, 10mm cable as well.
JoeSef0:
Pwm. According to the controller configuration. The max wattage for 12v panels is 780, while 180w x5 will give 900w if I'm to connect 24v i can use upto 1500w of panels
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 5:03am On Jan 27
You can install this between your panels and charge controller to no the input amps. It's 10k or so
kristien4:
Checked a tool shop, it was 50k.. i just felt maybe i dnt really need it. Felt i misunderstood the display info on the charge controller..

Hello..can someone help me clear my doubts. I have 3 580w solar panel connected in parallel.. each panel is rated 13amps... thats 39amps. But my pv current shows 12amps and battery charging current 33amps. Isnt the pv current supposed to be higher than 12amps ,. And how does a pv produce 12amp and battery is being charged with 33amps...?? Please help me understand
