If ur system is 24v up. Just buy 400w upwards jinko from fouani, gennex or other trusted suppliers on this platform and get an mppt to it. If ure using 12v get new 180/190w panels, that's with 18v 10a ratting on their sticker n get pwm CC.

I bought a solar panel today..jinko panel from fouani, looking at the panel from one angle, a cell is slightly blueish in color instead of the normal black, is that a reason to worry?

If u use 6mm cable with the parameters u dropped, u will AV 4.6% reduction. Not that this is bad considering d cost of cable at the moment

18a is to poor for 5 300w o. I no the sun these past few days is not as bright as b4 but my 3 330w panels give 20-23a at the moment

What max wattage does ur panels generate. What kind of battery do you have.
emmaniche:

Boss. Thanks.
Sud I upgarde the inverter or add more solar panels.
My mind is kind of set on upgrading the solar panels and later add 3.5kva inverter 48v.
Whats ur take?

Thanks boss. God bless

There is a seller here that sells variable output voltage charger here, Valto. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/1131#110684591

But if you don't like the charger due to cost or availability, you can buy a normal charger and get a variable DC to DC buck converter like this type from Konga with image attached below that can take a DC input (say a normal 12v charger's output) as input with variable DC output with you can use to do top balancing

Incase u get one locally, let me know, it cost around 8.5$ for 5a on Alibaba but the wait time is 2weeks plus

Does anyone know where I can get this kind of charger in Nigeria? 3.65v 5a

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:19am On Jan 28
And I hope ur battery is either li-ion or lifepo4 cause pushing 60a down the throat of a single lead acid battery (12v) or 1400w into 24v battery (2 12v) is not advisable.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 8:12am On Jan 28
For 12v system with pwm u cant connect all in parallel, max u should do is 4, if ur panels really output 180w otherwise do 5 n use 10mm cable. For 24v 2s4p, that's 8 panels, 10mm cable as well.
JoeSef0:
Pwm. According to the controller configuration. The max wattage for 12v panels is 780, while 180w x5 will give 900w if I'm to connect 24v i can use upto 1500w of panels
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 5:03am On Jan 27
You can install this between your panels and charge controller to no the input amps. It's 10k or so
kristien4:
Checked a tool shop, it was 50k.. i just felt maybe i dnt really need it. Felt i misunderstood the display info on the charge controller..

Hello..can someone help me clear my doubts. I have 3 580w solar panel connected in parallel.. each panel is rated 13amps... thats 39amps. But my pv current shows 12amps and battery charging current 33amps. Isnt the pv current supposed to be higher than 12amps ,. And how does a pv produce 12amp and battery is being charged with 33amps...?? Please help me understand
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 10:06pm On Jan 26
It's d freezers surge that's making ur inverter think the battery is low, put it on wen sun comes out bright u will see it won't put out ur AC output, do it again wen d sun goes down n u will see d problem again.
JoeSef0:
Yes
And the screen on it is very detailed, you can get almost all info on the screen.

Good afternoon guys. Please between felicity 5KV hybrid inverter and Growatt 5KV hybrid inverter, which is advisable to go for and reason?

Which reliable source can I get the recommended?

Thanks.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 10:00pm On Jan 21
The sticker looks original. Use multimeter to check d amp wen sun is out. It looks like a used panel. Aw much is it.
EduTechTainMent:
Original or fakes pls?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 10:13pm On Jan 19
If d inverter no see reach d required voltage even under hot sun u will see Ur mppt go off as if there no watt coming out Ur panels for minutes b4 kicking back on. This will repeat itself numerous times in 1hr. Les now say u aim at 900w yield in 1hr u wont even get 600w with the on n off.
Drgreatone:

Pls define what u mean by optimal? If its in term of charging ur batteries, so long as its over the minimum mppt voltage, it wud charge.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Jefferyzz(m): 12:02am On Jan 19
Nah something very similar to Ur inverter I first buy even with 140vdc d charge controller go dey go off n on.
I was advised to get 2 more panels or buy another mppt, since price of 1 panel is equal 1 charge controller as at den, I got a new controller
Feshizzy:

Where do you get your 180 from please?
Have you installed hybrid inverters of these mppt vdc range before?

Minimum should b 180 but if nominal is 240 Ur mppt won't b at optimal if d voc no reach 240vdc
Feshizzy:

Please base of these info
Mppt voltage range 30 - 400vdc
And
Nominal operating voltage - 240vdc

Please strictly base off field and practical knowledge,
What would be the minimum operating voltage for this hybrid?

Would an array of 50vdc start yielding in this hybrid?

I greet everyone.

Yes some consume alot
I just got a 7.5kva inverter n the idle consumption is 110w. My previous 2.5kva is 25w but their transformer structure is different. Just check d datasheet of what ure buying to know the idle consumption but know that some of them consume alot
kristien4:
Pls has anyone here used a transformer based inverter,? Is the power drag during use and in idle noticeable enough to hinder battery usage, like can it deduct hours from a batteries output that there is a noticeable difference.. ??
