Has any one here used battery isolator for a 12v solar system here. Most of the articles i came across online is majorly in automobile application. I av two 12v battery, 1 is in excellent condition, d oda is fair, I don't want to parallel them cause in due time, their performance will b equalized. So I came across a suggestion of having 2 batteries connected in parallel but are separated with an isolator which allows Dem to charge n discharge individually.

I thought as much. It's very close to 2kw last I checked. How did you remove d wire connected to d submersible though.

Finally did the test today with "CLAMP METER DT3266F"
Surge: 16.64amp * 230v = 3,827.2w
Continues draw: 8.2amp * 230 = 1,886w

The reduction in consumption is as a result of stronger/better wire used (2.5mm² Comester)

Below is the initial test done in Q1 of this year.
Max Surge = 19amp * 230v = 4,370w
Continues draw = 11amp * 230v = 2,530w

I believe this 2kw+, measured our newly installed pump last two months, steady draw was 2.2kw - 2.4kw+, while surge was heading to 5kw.

I will measure it again with clamp meter since we recently changed the wire from meter control box to the surface of the underground pipe to 2.5mm comester.

The pump depth 180ft plus from ground to surface, while from surface to thank is above 30ft.

I strongly believe most 1.5hp consuming 2kw+ are 2hp labelled 1.5hp.

But I will do the test again, perhaps this week when I have the time to know the difference now that new wires are used.

2.2kw is high for a 1.5hp. Check your cables if it is properly sized. Better still, you can over size to compensate for high ambient temperature when in use in the afternoon. Also check for corrosion at the point where cables were joined together. This issue with this is, the point where the cables where joined, will be in the borehole.

U need to av 1.5hp submersible to know aw much power they consume.
Cause 1.5hp dey consume around 2kw for normal light n I'm sure it will b Abit higher for inverter.

It's the way the inverter is. I added the extra fan cause the body get warm but d inverter fan will not start up until there's 50% or more load on it. If this should continue. It won't last long before parts start failing.
Fan should b controlled by temperature not by certain percentage of load

AC input has switch(MCB), u can always put it on n off

If NEPA and Solar are both available at same time, is there a way to isolate NEPA and charge with Solar ONLY (either by means of breaker/change over)?

3.5kv is same as 2.8kw in most inverter u will see out there in d market

I get the point but I don't get why you believe a 3.5kw will be 2.8kw in practice especially if it's just to handle short load. I know axpert variants users here who have put over 90% load on their inverter without any issues and when I used axpert I had similar experience.

In the case of my 1hp apart from the starting surge it consumes less than 1kw. A 1.5hp outside the surge(which should not be more than 2.5kw) should consume 1.5kw or less. Note that the guy is asking about a 3.5kw inverter not 3kw... ofcourse if he has money he should feel free to get even 8kw

Still working 5n. There is a little defect in the design which I worked something to it. The fan doesn't come on unless the load on it is up to 50%. Iron will b running on it for 30mins n fan won't come on. I bought bigger fan n fixed it on the other side with a switch, so I put it on b4 I put on my iron.

Absolutely, its always on even wen I'm not at home, with freezer on it. I can count d number of times I put it off.

Ac charging parameters are adjustable, it's not an hybrid inverter, d only charging option is AC, charge controller handles the solar charging.

I no of 3.5kva 24v, don't know if there is a 48v variant.

1. 3.5kva he's talking about is most likely 2.8kw in few cases it might b higher or lower than the above figure
2. 1.5hp is not 1hp
3. Ofcourse 1hp should do fine with 3kw inverter, as it requires around 1.2-1.5kw of energy.
It's best if e can go bigger. So as not to waste money

I used my 3kw GK series MPP hybrid inverter to power my 1hp pump comfortably with all other loads powered on, so am pretty sure 1.5hp won't die on it

It couldn't b yes if
1. If ur battery is lifepo4 of 3kwh up
2. If ur panel is 4kw up n u can pump wen the sun is up, even wen d sun goes down ur panel should still generate up to 1.6-2kw while the remaining 700/300w will taken from ur lead acid batteries.
And most importantly, ur 3.5kva inverter must b those variant with toroidal transformer, they handle surge better, if ure using a high frequency inverter, don't pump

We can't say accessories n logistics is expensive.
But that MCBs ehn, of all the people wey don dey call me that their system get this error and that. I have not seen 1 MCB wey b known name.
1 even use AC MCB for panels, some don't even use MCB n SPD at all. We know aw expensive Schneider is, some1 here mentioned getting 1 for 23k thereabout, can't remember d amount, but Dem dey sell cheap ones for alaba (3-4k) wey dey carry various names, u go see some wey Dem put Schneider ontop sef. I no this cause av bought 1 b4.
The recent system I checked had Schneider DC MCB connect with d panel, MCB got burnt n didn't even flip. Charge controller didn't spoil.
Since list of all items dey, buy better items, not leave everything to installer hand.

As per ur inverter, if u Neva buy, look elsewhere, if u don't abuse ur inverter, n u secure am with AC&DC MCB&SPD n earth all component(panels included) n add stab if u will b charging with NEPA, ur inverter go last Wella.

I bought a 60A charge controller

Hello gurus in the house, above are some of the features of d Novel hybrid 2.5kva 24v that I just purchased. My installer is quoting the following accessories
DC surge protector= 13k
60A PWM = 25k

Whereas @ Novel Solar they are quoting the following
DC surge protector= 35k
Input and Output protection= 40k

My question is which of these questions should I go for considering the features of the inverter that I stated above.
It's 300W x 4 panels

This quotation is questionable
1. Why not put the make of d battery there. Make e no go b those starplus of 145/150k variant e go buy for u
2. Wat kind of inverter is he buying. Make u no go buy inverter wey surge go spoil in no time.
Better transformer based inverter with 30a AC charger is also sold for 85k
3. With the kind of charge controller will he be using, there will b some energy waste cause he go parallel those panels, your best is to buy 190/180w with 8/9amps which new 1 is 45k. U can buy 4 of this.
Make sure he doesn't cut off the connector, make e buy branch connector, cause e no put am 4 d list.
Price of charge controller is ok. 40a pwm I suppose.
Every other tin is cool just make sure those breakers are properly sized.
2 DC breakers (32a for panel and battery)
1 AC breaker (order 4a variant on AliExpress as it's difficult to get this here. Lowest av seen is 10a which is too big for ur setup)
