Hi Jehnii, my brother is in the f22 category . I guess this is under the f2a category which is current in the visa bulletin. Pd is Dec 2017 . We are currently waiting to get dq, does this mean once he gets dq an interview date will be available and he wouldn’t wait too long since he is current?

After dq he’ll still wait, cause they’re people waiting since march 2020 dq

It was moving pre covid..but ever since late last year, the visa bulletin has seized to move, and so F1 have been stocked at dec 2014 for about 9months, same with other visa categories in family based.

2.If your petitioner was an legal permanent resident when he/she filed for you and then during the visa/NVC process he/she gets US citizenship will it affect or be of an advantage to the applicant(ie will it help in the visa process)
3.My pd was November 2015 and Dq April 2022 when how long will it take to be scheduled for an interview?
4.Is the effect of the backlog according to specific catergory or its affecting every catergory?

1. F11 is adult child(ren) of a US citizens

2. It’s not in any advantage, if your petitioner filed for you when he/she was a legal permanent resident, then it means you were in f2b. F2b current is faster than F1, as F2b is at sept 2015 and F1 is at dec 2014. Although you’re not current in either categories, but you have a better chance at F2b. If you’re already transferred to F1, write to nvc through this inquiry mail below and tell them to please change your category back to F2b. https://nvc.state.gov/inquiry

3. You can only be eligible to be scheduled for an interview when you become current in chart A of the vis bulletin. And right now, they’re at Sept 2015 for F2b, and dec 2014 for F1.

4. It’s affecting every category. Only that categories like F categories(F1-F4) are all affected way more than immediate relatives. But all are still affected by the backlog.

My step mother's sister in the US petitioned for me, my step mum and my little brother, that was the F4 category.

Our first interview, the 3 of us went to the embassy but we were asked to submit some documents via DHL.

The second interview, my name was not included cos they said that I'm over 21 and my brother is 18 but my step mom and brother were both granted visa.

Last month, I was asked to schedule my own interview and do the medical screening but my problem now is the category to fill, am I still in F4 or what?
Please is police report necessary cos they only requested for medical screening.

Yes you’re still F4. If the last police report you did isn’t upto 2years, then don’t bother doing it and go for only medicals which they require.

Like I said earlier, your case is expedited. Embassy won’t schedule interview for you..you’re the one to pick a date online when available. So make it a serious job to be checking for date online. You would eventually see, I know of someone who got a date by continuously checking online. Start from 8am to 1pm or even more than 1pm. Limit search to 3-4times a day.
The people embassy do schedule an appointment is those from nvc(those that didn’t expedite).

Oh cool, thanks for explaining.

No, the embassy won’t provide. You’ll need to be checking for available date between 8am to 1pm everyday, and if you see any date, just pick..you could always check back and choose a closer date if you see a date that’s closer. Remember so many other persons like you are looking for dates..so don’t relent. Limit login on the site to 3-4times a day.

So here is my question, I got the Packet 4 Guidance from Lagos consulate but i cant find any available dates for interview. Is your priority date 2012 or 2013?. And for f3, they’re at November 2008 for those ready to be scheduled for an interview, and at August 2009 for those ready to start submitting documents. So you need to wait around 3-4years to start submitting documents and 5-6years to be eligible for an interview.

Duration to getting interview date, with the backlog at the embassy, that’s another 9years from now. Without backlog or if cleared, then it’s 7years.
On the next stage, Its just to wait same 7years cause they’re at 2007 people that were filled for. So just go on with life and check back in 5-7years time.

I didn't even know a group like this exists. Please forgive me if I sound a bit too naïve as this is my first time here and I am trying to take in a lot of information at once. I got a welcome and approval mail from NVC giving me my case number and some other links to pay my F1 immigrant fees, affidavit of support fees, etc. But I am unable to do this even though the 72 hours activation period has passed. I also see a message telling me that I am not eligible to process my application now and would be contacted once it is my time.
I want to know what is really going on as I heard this can take like another 5years or more before I can process my application. Please is this true and what should I expect at this stage
N/B: Also, I don't know if this will help in giving me a good answer, I saw that my priority date was October 2019. What is priority date??

Priority date is when your petition was filled, right now people that are eligible to be interviewed after submission of documents are those whose petition were filled 2014, so meaning you have 5more years to wait to get to that stage. As for the stage of submission of documents, they’re at people that were filled for in 2016, so for this stage, you have 3more years to go. And that’s why you have those words in your ceac summary page telling you it not eligible for further processing.

@tmfasterservices it’s to patiently wait for interview letter if you’re ir1 or cr1, if not then wait till when ban expires which is on dec 31st. It’s the waiting game now, and also do check your mails cause that’s where your interview letter will be sent.

@crisycent seems your case is different from the usuals or normal cause it ought to be this way�..check the image below. Or another way is to get your welcome letter and check for it. But atleast with what you sent it shows that your case was approved sometime around 2009.

@crisycent you can get your priority date by logging into your ceac account where you filled ds260..check at the top right corner of the page..you’ll see where your priority date is stated there. Or better still your priority date is stated in your welcome letter, together with your invoice number. Then for your approval date just provide the first 4 numbers in your invoice number that comes after the alphabet..the one with LGS2*******, it’ll give atleast an idea of the year it was approved.

yes your daughter need to pay visa fee @crisycent..what is your priority date and also your approval date..so that I can determine if your daughter is eligible to go with you and also if you’re current to start submitting your civil documents..cause it might be that it’s cause you aren’t current yet that’s why you’re unable to submit documents.

I am immigrating with my daughter, will she also pay visa fee? (My petitioner paid mine).

I tried paying additional fees on the portal (assuming my daughter is to pay IV & AOS fees) but it is not letting me.

My mums own was issued on Monday. So good news around for everyone. People can go ahead with their interviews, and just make sure they are able to state their case, and answer all the questions asked confidently. And finally las las all na God. Na God do this one for us. Praises to him. My mum wasnt asked for her national ID card, but she said she heard other people being asked this. So pls guys go with your national ID
