I’ll just share my story.

I’ll be 34 in 2024 as well and in 2018-2021 I worked so hard to japa with a salary of N150k. it didn’t work because of funds, in the midst of that, I went along with my Naija plans. I got married in 2020 and I’m now with 2 beautiful daughters. Currently I’m working as an expatriate earning in USD and still in Nigeria.

All I think of now is my kids, giving them the best. So while I’m earning to take care of them here I’m also looking at the economic situation and saving up to move them abroad in future.

So consider the odds you have, if one plan isn’t working, continue with the other. Also hold on to the one you have while planning the way forward. I strongly believe things will fall in place for you. I wish you the best

Mutual funds is the safest form of investment since your capital and interest is guaranteed. The best interest you can get now is 10-11% per annum. Stock market can give you as high as 20 - 50% per month if you can spot the right company to invest in, but the risk of loosing your capital is just as high.

If you really interested in investment, you need to understand that your capital, the period you are investing for and the principle of compound interest (investing for a long period say 5 to 10 years) maters.

Dollar funds has eurobonds as the underlying asset hence your capital is not guaranteed as it's with money market fund.

However, it's a good hedge against inflation with a long term in view.
