Jodera:I dey oh my brother. God will not shame us on top of Arsenal matter oh. Good to see the conversation going on despite all the mockery we have been receiving |
daveP:Pic 3 is one of my all time favourite. The football we played in those times were godly. Hopefully we can see those times again |
Roland17:I nearly died of laughter here. For all the pains this my dear club is making me go through, indeed this is the perfect song for us in these times. God no go shame us until Arsenal matter oh |
Best transfer window we have had in years. Take out the wastages and replace with only quality. Well done to the Manager and Edu |
Great game of footie yesterday. 3 perspectives for me are, 1 David luiz interview post match shows true leadership and mentality for a club as ours. All he said was ambition and fighting to be the best until it's mathematically impossible. Never again should an arsenal player be talking as a weakling even in the face of defeat as we witnessed sometime ago. There must be pride and a strong will to be the best regardless of any opposition or difficulty. 2 We were missing 3 key players yesterday and we were never pressured or put up the excuse of them not playing to succumb to a poor performance. Partey had a below par performance but xhaka stepped up immensely .The players that replaced them stepped up and this shows that competition for places is strong in the squad. Something I have always wanted to see that regardless of who is on the pitch, you must put in the shift and effort to deserve a spot in that starting eleven. Long may this continue. 3 The very first time in a long time have I seen arsenal fans feel like a draw is a loss to a team in the top half. We have been so bad to the extent that we were happy to even get a draw off teams in the lower half. Could this be a sign of overall club mentality and regarding failure as not an option? It's was amazing that no one even talked too much bout the absentees but more pained about not getting maximum points against a resurgent United with a full strength team. Absolutely unbelievable! Right now we need to maintain this level of high performance consistently. Players will get tired and injuries will set in but anyone call upon to play must always have the right attitude. Shout out to much maligned pepe for beginning to put in decent performances even has he is being moved from flank to flank these days. Unto the next game at wolves. |
Jodera:Agents and their wahala Sha. I hope the boy makes the right decision though and good that he trains with the first team too. We need to focus fully on eroupa and the league |
I wonder what is happening to Folarin. Nketiah needs to go on loan and let Arteta give Folarin a run of games . I don't know what the managers sees day in day out, but from what some of us have seen of Folarin, we need to give him more chances at least |
sod09:It's an own goal for a player that has been our player of the month 3 times consecutively. He is bound to have bad days but he has been more consistent being this is even his first season in the league. In my own opinion and not to drag issues, I will always play him over mustafi, he his far better. Not to say Mustafi is bad bad but definitely IMHO Gabriel is much better than Mustafi as a defenser |
Hopefully some players can now stay on the bench for a long time. Shame that after given another opportunity, some players still are below par. Cant blame Gabriel for anything has both xhaka and elneny were all over the place in the first half. Willian Pepe and Nketiah offered zero threat upfront. Even an University team will easily play against those three Was even not happy Partey had to play as it was a risk considering the upcoming fixtures. All in all let them continue clearing out deadwood and get a left back urgently as we can't afford to use saka who has been brilliant in the attack as a LB again |
kokanepyramid:Fair play! But for me I would only keep one of our current midfield as a squad player and be ruthless is selling the others if there is a player of immense and exceptional quality above them. As for Guen let's just hope he has a change of attitude cos all that anger nonsense will take him nowhere even if he has the skills. In fact I'd be willing to trade of 2 or more of our midfielders to get an elite AM not to come and stutter ESr development but to help the young lad learn and improve more. From a playing perspective and not on the actual role being played, I always look for 2 things . It's your jab and movement. Esr Thomas and Tieney have that in them naturally, I am not even going into specifics based on the roles they play but in generality here. Anytime Partey comes to receive or distribute the ball he his always moving, he is always on his toes making runs for that extra pass or to receive the ball, same thing with esr coupled with his disciplined one touch . KTs runs down the left channel all day is a worry for defenders and the boys engine is unbelievable. But Partey takes it a notch further with his weight of pass and consistency in delivery and awareness , these are unteachable. Quality like this is what we should strive for . As per defense we are covered and I must say well done to the board for making those purchases |
Spy360:Elneny , I can consider to be kept as a squad player but for xhaka, if thete is an offer I won't budge at all. He is far to inconsistent to be considered reliable As for Willian, it's a case of bad business and everyone or organisation suffers that from time to time. I'd rather we cut our losses on deadwoods and ship them out as soon as possible and only recruit quality even if it means we have to use the price of 2 to pay for 1. Our academy has shown that if groomed well we have young ones that can add squad depth when needed rather than paying salaries to supposed internationals of low quality |
Thomas is too much levels above any of our current midfielders. Esr keeps developing and now begining to understand that one touch footie especially in tight conditions allows you to transition faster. The pass from partey to auba for that goal would never happen if that was xhaka in possession. The guys vision passing quality weight of pass is just class. Reminds me of when we had Santi. I would not mind the scouts giving us Bissouma. Haven't seen him play for Brighton recently but I would give away anyone in that midfield bar partey to get him or ingwisha of Fullham. Those boys sabi , very comfortable on the ball and know when to turn . |
Heard Arteta is very interested in Bissouma of Brighton. I hope that deal comes true. That boy is a hidden gem. I have watched him over and over again. He sabi play ball. Just hope this our yeye board will back him up |
I hope they do not plan to rush partey back until he his behind the injury fully. Need to ease him in and protect him just like martinelli while we build on the momentum with the current players |
Esr playing one touch footie like it's out of fashion. Lawd! Even ceballos has to take a cue. Too many misplaced passes from him |
Joy! Movement intensity and the right attitude from Kick off. All we have been asking for |
Intensity and attitude. Well played KT |
I like the call on martinelli to rest and not start. The boy plays with intensity and a fear of burnout or another injury setback could be the reason. I just hope they turn up and show the right attitude from the start. You know Big sam will go for physicality and our players must be ready for a fight. No way we will get anything out of this game if the players don't get down dirty and do the work. A snowy day with balls bouncing off at pace means putting in extra to win balls and 50 50s |
mostob:Bissouma. Will be watching him against wolves again today |
Roland17:Thanks for this. Actually I mean Bissouma of Brighton |
I even doubt if some of our players will survive a training session under marcelo bielsa |
For me it's all about the Buendia rumours. Arsenal should please pay Brighton something and get that boy. Epl proven and would cost less. As for the team issues. I like the fact that everything is getting heated and players are all up an about . The manager for me has to stay firm. No player should dictate shit. Until some of these players start ensuring they get bruised and knocked up after every game wearing the badge. Until they start making tireless runs and getting into games with the proper mindset and attitude, they can rant for all I care. All in all the greater good to perform must be for the cause of the club and club alone |
kodded:This would be a dream midfield pairing . Honestly if they can make it happen, I would be so excited . Those two are composed on the ball and they win tackles effortlessly |
[quote author=sod09 post=97536680]Make we buy this bisouma na and give them elnney and xhaka 2 useless players, e be like say we need Jerry curl to partner partey next season with azeez coming in as sub[/quote Men that guy is composed as can be on the ball. Very tidy in possession and good positioning to win the ball back in dangerous positions. I won't mind him at all if he comes cheap. |
Spy360:Very True! |
Spy360:Quite an interesting discuss. From a player and Coaches perspective especially at the highest level. The key thing here is CONSISTENCY and not time. Players can blossom early or later but for you to be considered a starter and a key component of your team sentiments and favoritism aside, you must be consistent with quality performances. I would not write off any of Nketiah of Willock but would be seriously worried that a martinelli who was good for us before going out for a year is now back again and delivering consistent performances more than the other two . It's worrying and honestly you would expect more from them. Balogun played two games for us but what he showed in two games is more than what Willock and eddyy have shown in so many games. They should also be reminded that they are professionals with the privilege of playing in the first team and as such the bar has been raised with no excuses. Look as Ansi at Barca before he got injured. Even when messi was not playing that boy made the team look comfortable and was Consistent. Hardly does he have a bad game. This needs to change quickly for eddy and Willock to convince everyone that they deserve their place in that squad else drastic decisions need to be taken. Time is of the essence and they are not getting younger too |
Jodera:Men that move was like watching arsenal of old with Pires running things down the left channel doing double passes with silvihno |
Spy360:Abeg oh. That captaincy at times na bad luck. Let the boy just continue with the right attitude and development |
Spy360:IMHO it was not a case of attacking midfield, it was just pure desire and attitude from saka martinelli and esr. Immediately they were subbed the desire and hardwork was missing again. Honestly they need to take a cue from the workrate of martinelli and saka especially plus like someone said, it rubbed off lacazete who also has a good game . His pressing also nearly resulted in a goal. What they need to do is build on this Attitude. Pepe was disappointing to think he has a huge tag on him and he completely offered no threat when called upon. Time is running out nd Arteta must be ruthless like I have always said and drop anyone who is not ready to bust a gut. January is not far off and if we can get a quality am ,hopefully we should start gaining more momentum |
Martinelli, only if most players in the squad showed his aggression. His pressing reminds me of the great barcelona team of old with xavi iniesta merci and can't remember the other guys name that went to chelsea. It's like having a trailer run at you. I just pray he does not burn out or cop another injury. |

Fkhalifa:Baba, talent without Attitude will get nowhere. There is a reason morihno calls out players because he has a style of play and rather than let a player or group of players ruin it. He will publicly critic them. Honestly I do not fault what Arteta is bringing to the table and I don't care about stats this or stats that. When I sit down to watch the games , I want to see players busting their guts to close down space and passes. I want to see players making runs whenever we are in the attacking third. It's absolutely ridiculous to see only a few players do this while the others keep on strolling around . What is so hard about pressing talkless of even teams like southampton or villa. The players for me are a problem here cos in the second half of both games we played, it was clear that they have what it takes to put in the required effort but they are so damn lazy. Another run of horrendous fixtures are coming and there is no excuse for fixture congestion cos every other team will play this run. These players need the core of the invincibles to come and talk sense into them letting them know it was no gimme to go unbeaten and despite the talents they had, they also worked extremely hard to succeed. We can't have social media players ruining this club. I'd prefer like some suggest that we go to league one or championship to get talented but hungry players. I'm sure Arteta would do well with hardworking players. I also feel the Sanchez pain cos he was the last player we had that always showed a strong desire to press and never keeps running throughout the game. How long do we want to be carrying passengers in this team. All the points they lost was due to poor work ethic rather than the team being incredibly better than them. |
