What a masterpiece. Very good an article. Decided to comment this time cos I particularly love posts as this. Well, having heard all this, would say having a work experience before masters gives an edge. |
To that person that said every and anybody can practice journalism.....lemme educate ur ignorance.....there's a difference between a citizen journalist and a mainline journlist.....the former requires no training at all, all u need do is create a website, a news website online where u begin to post stories, gists, of which almost all tend to be propaganda...this is what they term yellow journalism....where in a bid to gain more followers, u begin to post inviting stories that if truth be told didint happen that way. While a mainline journalist must have as a pre-requisite bagged a degree in mass communication, which comprises of so many professions.....be journalism, publishing, editor, advertising, public relations, news casting, web designing, graphic designer, and a few but to mention.......and as per Art courses, schools differ, for instance, in my school, unizik, where I'm studying, mass communication and also report for {?h![]() Nation news paper,, it is science related (which is supposed to be) under social sciences and with a B.sc honarary degree. But in unn or soo, appears under Art.....(Not too sure of that though). Ff on twitter : @jerryukandu |

Quite a remarkable post. What an eye opener to me. Very thoughtful of you to have let us in the know. |
Na wa o. T'would have made more sense if the question was asked as " which of the univerisities is tribalism on the increase?" Then the ish of toughest, easiest and all what not can come in * a scenario where I didn't meet the cut-off and still was denied admisn* |
Suffice it to say no uni is easy to enter. Just as @Omicron stated, the toughest may not be the best. if I can recall vividly, about 3 yrs ago, unizik, which is my school, was the second highest sought after uni after unilag. Out of sixty something thousand that applied, only about five thousand were given a slot. And you guys seem to forget so easily that schools differ and so have their own criterion for being considered....unizik, for instance, even though u had 350 in your jamb, once your putme is from 40 below....you can kiss admission goodbye. So no sch is easy...except of course private universities where money does the talking and schools like colleges of education. |
