Abiye Sekibo , a witness of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that agents” of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu truncated the uploading of election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) server in Rivers State.

As reported by Premium Times, Seriko told the Presidential Election Petition Court sitting in Abuja, on Monday, June 5, that Tinubu and APC “agents” prevented INEC officials from using the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to upload collated results from polling units during the 25 February presidential election across the state.
Sekibo, who was PDP’s coordinator in Rivers state said:

“The agents of the 2nd respondent (Mr Tinubu) and 3rd respondent (APC) ensured that INEC presiding officers did not upload results of the presidential election in Rivers.”

The witness, who was also a former Transportation Minister also alleged that the APC agents unleashed violence on voters and residents around polling units in the state.

Sekibo said: “INEC couldn’t upload results across the entire Rivers state.”

Sekibo admits not knowing the names of the agents
Atiku’s witness, however, admitted that he does not know the names of the agents who allegedly perpetrated the violence at the polls.

He stated this while being cross-examined by President Tinubu’s lawyer, Akin Olujinmi.

Defending his claim that the agents were from APC and Tinubu, Sekibo explained that he voted at his polling unit at Okrika LGA, witnessed several results collation in 20 polling units, and deduced the agents’ identities from their violent actions.

Details Emerge As President Tinubu Meets With Falana in Aso Rock Over Subsidy Removal, Economy
Details of the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), at the Presidential Villa on Saturday, June 3, have emerged.

The closed-door meeting was heard to discuss issues surrounding the looming strike following the removal of the petrol subsidy, Nigerian Tribune reported.

Falana was said to have also discussed how best to recover funds that have been stashed in foreign jurisdictions and the war against corruption with Tinubu.

The meeting was reportedly a sequel to a letter that Falana had written to President Tinubu on the economy and how he could succeed.

The newspaper reported that an associate of President Tinubu, who confirmed the meeting said;
“Falana met with Tinubu on Saturday.

They discussed how best to handle the removal of subsidy and how to ensure that the pain of Nigerians does not worsen.

“Tinubu will continue to consult respected Nigerians in his administration including members of the opposition and civil rights groups.”

According to Tribune, the senior advocate confirmed the meeting in a telephone conversation.
The human rights law said:
“It is true that I met with President Tinubu on Saturday. We discussed subsidy and how to tackle waste in government and recover looted funds. The aim is just to ensure that the economy picks up quickly.”

Bolatito, the widow of the Master’s student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, Timothy Adegoke, who was murdered at Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has revealed how much she was offered to withdraw the case.

The young widow said she was offered N71 million to withdraw the case against her husband’s murderer, but she rejected it.

Bolatito disclosed this during an interview with The Nation newspaper on Saturday, June 3.

“I was once offered a bribe of N71 million to withdraw the case against Adedoyin, but I rejected it. They offered the same to my husband’s elder brother, which he rejected.

They started threatening him, but God took all the glory.

“The person that was sent to us said the money was for us to forget the case. He promised to get us a shop so that I would be selling goods.

I told the person that I was not interested in the money but justice for my late husband.”

Hope in the judiciary has been rekindled
Reacting to the judgement, Bolatito said the outcome of the case had rekindled her hope in the Nigerian judiciary.

Recall that Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of the hotel, and two members of his staff were sentenced to death last week by Osun state Chief Judge, Oyebola Ojo.

Bolatito added: “Yes, my hope in the judiciary with this case has been rekindled. Some people are casting doubt that he (Adedoyin) might be replaced in prison, but I told them that God, who started His work, would finish it.

I don’t have any problem with that. My confidence is in God. He stood by me, fought for me and vindicated me.

“I was inside a church praying when I was informed about the judgment. Although I wept, I give thanks to God. He showed himself strong in this matter.

He backed me to get justice. I would have been happier if my husband had come back to life after the judgment.
