Gurus in the house...
Please how best can I resolve the problem of No work, No business, No public funds on my wife's VISA. I know its a mistake cos partner dependent are not limited in number of hours.
Help me out pls

Based on my experience, I think you have two options:

1. Correct it before leaving Nigeria by contacting UKVI via mail or call but it can take weeks before its corrected.

2. Travel with it and correct the BRP itself when you get to UK.

Like I said this is in my opinion, other gurus might have a better approach to this.

You can also check YouTube for those that have similar issues.

Please house, my dependants applied for their visa since Novemeber 15, 2021 and my wife got her visa but my son is yet to get his own since then. When I contacted UKVI in December 2021, I was told a decision has been made but I should wait till the TLS sends a pick up mail but I have not recieved any mail since I contacted them and the application status is still at DMC. Is this something to be worried about or how can I resolve it? Thank you.

Hello everyone, please I need help for filling accommodation details.

My family and I plan to stay with my brother for about a month when we arrive and rent a place later on. After filling that I will stay with my brother for a month, .... another question came up “Will you be staying anywhere else in the UK?” If I choose YES, it will ask me for address and details and I don’t have that.

Or can I put that I will stay with my family for the whole duration of study? We are a family of 5. Please help!

Very Urgent please.......

I suppose you are yet to sort your accommodation so I think you can put your university address to answer the second question. This is my opinion but let see what others have to say.

I believe you need just need to rescan in order to meet the 600dpi quality as required and you are good to go.

Usually, once you respond to those queries, your assessment should come out in a few days

I rescanned all the documents I was asked to rescan to meet 600dpi and I got a positive assessment the following day. Thanks @fatima04 and everyone.

Hello efam,
Thanks for a great job here.
I got feedback from Engineer Australia today and I would like to be guided on how to tackle them, most especially the third one
@bellong, @Alphadoor and any other person who has a similiar experience, please come to my aid.

Here is the Assessor's Feedback

1. Please, Provide a high-quality coloured scan of a new passport style photograph
2. The passport identification page does not show sufficient background detail, please provide a new scan of the passport identification page.
3. Please, provide a high-quality colour scan of a new reference letter meeting all the requirements as specified in MSA booklet page 28.

I understand that I need to send a high-quality scan back to them for feedbacks 1 and 2 but for Feedback 3, the reference letter I sent initially meets all the requirement in the MSA booklet but I didn't send any secondary documents because I am not assessing for relevant skilled assessment for now. What exactly could they be asking for?

Also, I want to ask that since they didn't raise any issue with my report does that mean there are no issues?

Thanks in advance

You will need tax receipts or certificate, reference letter alone not enough.
A structural designer is also an engineer, plus it’s an episode to you been an engineer. Even siwes experience is highly welcomed as long as it proves engineering abilities

Hi everyone,

I appreciate everyone for a wonderful job done here, taking out time to share this great information. I am currently getting my documents ready for Engineers Australia and I want to ask some questions:

1. have 3 years’ experience as a structural engineer in a company that paid me in cash (no pension, no tax) and one of my career episode is based a project I did while I was in this company. I spoke with my direct supervisor and he said he is willing to give me a reference letter to include all the details required by Engineer Australia. Will this reference letter be sufficient as proof of my employment?

2. I presently work as a Civil/Structural Designer and I would like to be assessed as a professional Structural Engineer. Can I include this present position in my CV?

Note:
a.) The job description is different from that of a structural Engineer but somehow related.
b.) None of my Career Episode is based on my present job.

I will appreciate your response. Thanks all

All other international students will have to provide minimum scores from acceptable standardized(tofel, ilts, cael) etc**

You don't need to do TOEFL, an English Proficiency Letter from your university will do.

The decision must have been sent to the mailing address provided during application. You can mail gradapply@mun.ca starting your situation. Please include your student number and date of birth.

You are welcome!! Yes you can change courses once in Canada through the same school or transferring to another university. Funding domiciliary is money immediately available for your use and will not present issues, especially if you get a letter from one of the sponsors affirming the purpose of the transfer. Best wishes!

Thank you.

Yes you are in the right place and welcome to the community and brotherhood and sisterhood of NL TRV aspirants. We dish out some good stuffs here. Without wasting time, yes it is possible to go for a second masters in the same course you studied and be accepted by a Canadian university. However, whence the trouble lies is in getting visa. Nigeria is one of the highly risky areas with a track record of people gaming and manipulating Canada's immigration system. So VOs in Accra who peruse these application have their guards way up and try to demarcate genuine students from non genuine. In other words, those that once given TRV will study and those that will abscond into thin air once they arrive Canada. For some reason, going for a second masters when you are qualified to go for a PHD, is one of the signs that raises their eyebrows and gives them the feelings that a person might not be a genuine student. So I will advice you go for a PHD except you have an extremely good reason you can explain to the VO why you want to go for a second masters.

Yes you can show proof of job without pay slip. A letter of employment from your job would do the job fine. Just as a warning though, you have to show that a job will continue to be available to induce your return back to Nigeria. From all that you explained, your job doesn't sound like a good job to me, so perhaps you might want to discuss in your SOP to the VO that the course you would be studying in Canada is highly lucrative in Nigeria, that you would be highly desirable upon return. Going for a PHD makes that easier believable. A lot of people present pay slips and job offer but leave themselves still vulnerable because they fail to tackle that jobs in their areas would continue to be available and give the VO a reason to believe that they would come back to Nigeria if they don't get PR in Canada. VOs always check "lack of employment and asset in home country" in response to such failings.

Getting sponsored by three different people might show instability of financial support. Especially with people contributing in fractions to your support. You want the VO to believe that your sources of support is rock solid. These people are not required to sponsor you with their whole money in their balance, just the portion that they have agreed would be allotted to you. My advice actually is for you to collect written affidavits of support from all three, then collect all the money promised. Open A dormiciliary account and put at least 10$K Canadian dollars there or the equivalent of one year living expenses. Try and pay one year tuition cost too. That way your financial grounds are covered toe to head. You will only be left with proving you will return to Nigeria. How you craft your SOP to address that problem is also very important. Good luck with your plans!

Thank you so much for this detailed response. Am very grateful.

1. I will research into the PhD program as u have suggested.

I read online that it is possible to change university/course in Canada so I am thinking if I can apply to another option related to structural (Like Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management) which is an advancement in my career so on getting to canada I will change to structural engineering or just take few courses related structural engineering. Will this be work?

2. Yes you are right about the job, financially it is not too good but the experience is worthwhile. (That's what we sometimes get when one is starting out as a structural engineering consultant in Nigeria). I believe structural engineering jobs will continue to be available and if I go for Masters in construction management or Geotechnics that will make me more competitive.

3. I will open a domiciliary account and talk to my sponsor to fund it but hope it won't lead to issues of lump sum deposit or something?

Thank you so much once again .

Good Evening everyone,

I have found this platform really helpful and I want to appreciate everyone for their contributions and willingness to help others.

I am planning to study in Canada next year and I am gathering all necessary information as touching studying in Canada and I know I am in the right place. I have gotten answers to some of my questions on this thread. However, I still have some areas I need guidance. They are.

1 I am a graduate of Civil Engineering and I have MSc in Structural Engineering with 3 years work experience in a consulting firm. I want to ask if it is possible for me enrol in another masters program (MEng or MAsc) in the same course as I don't want to go into PhD for now. If not what options do I have?

2. I am working with a consulting firm where I earn a little salary and there is nothing like payslips. Can I show my proof of employment without payslips?

3. I will be using 3 family members as my sponsor (dad, brother and sister), I want to ask if they will need to show the exact amount required in their Statement of Account or just the amount they will be supporting me with monthly in the letter of sponsorship or can they Transfer the money to my account. (won't transferring to my account cause issues of where do I get the money from because of my salary.)

I will be awaiting your response. Thanks.
