Amoj4682: Hello people, please, I have an LGA birth certificate. Can it be submitted for NVC documents because my NPC birth certificate does not have my first name on it as it is written on my passport? Please advise. why don't you reapply for the NPC birth certificate or make a complain about the omission , however i think the LGA birth certificate depends on the year of birth...…. born after 1992 requires LGA and born before 1992 requires NPC by NVC.... Though, Am stand to be corrected on this...… |

pretty16: Hi all. We are at the NVC stage of our U. S family based preference category. F1(Single adult children of U. S Citizen). We got our welcome letter early June paid all the visa fees and filled the DS 260 form online. and by the month end of June we submitted all documents to NVC. I read from a forum on Visa journey that the NVC usually write petitioners or beneficiaries on their Case complete. Those that have gone tru the experience, how long did it take to get case complete after submitting all documents to NVC? I created this thread for those going tru the NVC stage or who have already passed through the stage to share their experiences on the forum.
Note: the thread is for those going through the NVC processing or those that have already passed through it, for the family preference category. @justwise, Pls sir, I beg u not to delete this thread, as it may help those who have just started their NVC processing ask questions on how to go about their case. As u know, our immigrant V. O on the immigrant visa section does not answer questions that has to do with NVC processing or how to go about filling forms at that stage. Good luck to all of us still waiting to join our folks in the states. its been a while @ pretty 16............... hope you doing great! hope to see your message here again someday.... cheers! |

GOD Bless you with this write up... I just pray everything goes back to normal, especially for those of us already Dqd for somes years now. sugaDaddy: I understand that many of us have travelled and are finding our way in USA but please, let’s stick to the topic of this forum. For the past few days, there’s been a lot of discussion that has nothing to do with why this thread was created. Please, (I mean no offence but) if you want to discuss about employment, wages, oyinbo women 🤦🏾♂️, there are many threads that have been created for that.
Currently, there has been a lot of information concerning Trump’s immigration bans on many countries including Nigeria. We should focus more on this issues, and discuss on how to navigate this by sharing information and updates.
Most people here are at NVC processing stage (more or less) and are going through a lot (especially with all these immigration bans happening) so we should not derail this thread.
Like I said, there are other threads discussing different issues concerning America.
Thanks🙏🏾🙏🏾 |

Please oladeep what are the document you submitted then during your processing cos the portal has been opened for me to submit document... Oladeep: We are in the same ship. I'm an intending immigrant too (F4 category). I have already submitted my documents to NVC and I'm waiting to get a case complete too. All what u need to know is written in their site (travel.state.gov). It will take NVC 2months or 11 weeks max for them to review your documents and determine if u would get a case complete or a checklist for additional documents/correction. However, u indicated u submitted your documents by end of June, so u should get a case complete this month end or mid September max. Lastly, hope ur priority date is current? cos u can't be schedule for an interview till ur PD is current and moreover, F1 and F4 category had a retrogression on the recently released visa bulletin for the month of September hopefully, it should return to normalcy by the beginning of a new fiscal year next month. |

ttmacoy: It's the first step when the NVC receive your approved application from USCIS, they create your case on their systems then you get welcome letter. The next stage will be to wait for your priority date to be current. What category are you applying for?
https://greencardpetitions.com/welcome-letter-not-recieved-yet
"What is a Welcome Letter? After getting approval for your petition, USCIS will transfer your case for further processing to the Department of State's National Visa Centre (NVC). As NVC receive your petition from USCIS, the first step they take is the creation of your case in their system. Once this is done, NVC sends a welcome Letter by e-mail or physical mail.
An applicant has to wait until his / her priority date is current. The NVC will start its processing six to 12 months before your priority date is expected to be current by sending you a welcome letter. While in the case of “immediate relative,” NVC sends welcome letter shortly after it gets the file from USCIS.The welcome letter comprises fee invoices, case numbers, and invoice numbers. These numbers are required to apply for your visa. Once you get the welcome letter, you’re ready to start applying for your immigrant visa." F2B |

ayenikunle: Really?
You mean NO question(s) was asked? The VO will just look at him/her and give out the letter without asking a question? If the Consular Officer did not look at your documents Many people complain that the visa officer did not even ask any questions nor looked at any documents and rejected their application which is not fair at all. Visa officers are experts in their profession and they are appointed in consulates in foreign countries after extensive training. Due to their vast experience and training, visa officers can figure out true intentions of applicants just by looking at them. They can even figure out whether information provided in the application and/or documents may be true or fake. They don't need to talk to applicants in many cases. |
