With d emergence of talented New Stars and the re-making of Hit albums by d already established Stars, the Nigerian Music scene is goin 2 be a tough one dis 2011. Datz why am concerned 4 my home boyz Psquare, coz 2face retained his No 1 spot wit his highly successful album "The Unstoppable Int. Edition", Dbanj will definitely retain his No 2 spot wit his Hit single "Mr Endowed" which had a MADD promo around Naija. Now remaining Psquare, if they fail 2 make a HIT album dis year, dat means their spot will be claimed by anoda person. And dat ll be bad market 4 dem. Some inaccuracies in the OP. Expressions was not their debut album. It was their sophomore and it was never a hit (though it was not a total flop also).
For the reason why they are dormant. I think apart from their refusal to come down to Lag,a lot has to do with their videos. Style+ dont put enough effort in their videos fact. As artistes like P square and Lagbaja will testify,videos sell albums a lot. Lagbaja released We Me and Abami in 2000 to a very lukewarm reception only for Konkobelow video to come out 2yrs later and a 2yr old album suddenly became the hottest thing around. Same goes for P square,those guys must be sellin more VCDs than Audio (remember Busy body remix?). Infact Style+ themselves should be a testament to the power of videos as i remember the huge demand for the Olufunmi videos back in the day only for them to start shootin insipid videos for their 2nd album. I remembered watchin Iya Basira videos and i was like WTF! And the rest were not really better.
Pls dont get me wrong,videos dont totally make the artiste but they surely lend a huge helpin hand. If not,why is MTV such a huge brand today?

Point of correction, d EXPRESSIONS album was their debut album. The Olufumni thing is not an album but a collection of singles which was about 4 in number. A standard album comprises of not less than 9 songs and dat is what's recognised at d International level. And who told u dat d Expressions album was not a hit? U dey Naija so? Singles like IMAGINE DAT, IYA BASIRA and DRIVE ME CRAZY RMX dat rocked from Lagos to Abuja to d East and down to PH. Abeg try update jor.

I dont understand why a group dat was d rave then, just fizzle out like dat. *OLUFUNMI* was d hottest song in Nigeria btw late 2003 and 2004. Then they came out with their debut album in 2006 and it was massive!! "Imagine Dat, Drive me crazy and Iya Basira" was literally ruling d streets of Naija. Then came 2008 when they released their 2nd album and everything fall apart. Nothing was heard of dem again, d album did not see d light of d day!! In 2010, they released yet anoda album which didnt do well. Though it had great songs. My question is WHO JAZZED STYL PLUS DEM? Who did this thing to them? Dat they will not smell d MAINSTREAM OF D MUSIC INDUSTRY which they rocked yesteryears again? I mean these guys are TALENTED, HAVE GOOD VOICES, and hav their OWN SWAG, yet they dont seem to be breaking into d MAINSTREAM again. While less talented artistes are in d spotlights. Lol. Different strokes for different folks. I agree dat her Desperate Chicks album is better than dis her new album. But still, fans are trippin for her. I guess its because she had made a name 4 herself in d East. She's still keeping her music strictly Igbo. I guess dats because she got more street fans. Her performance at d Road Block Show in Enugu was well received by fans.

My best station is Rhythm 95.7 Fm, Awka. All their presenters rock!! Big Syd, Elvis, Raezy, Iphy, Sanzye da Sexy and d Dazzling Dazzle. My worst station is ABS Fm, dat station sucks big time. Dem presenters always speaking Igbo!! Loolz.

Brymo is hot now when it comes to collabos. His use of Yoruba is also melodious even to non-Yoruba speakers.

Well O4kaa Nigga Raw is a great artiste, very good. But Bosalin is also very good, infact he's d rave now in Anambra, Enugu and Asaba environs. He rules d streets and the campuses. And his music is spreading slowly to PH, Abuja and it will most definitely reach Lagos. Both Nigga Raw and Bosalin are good. Bosalin is like the Igbo version of Dagrin.

Bosalin and his whole Signature Crew are all banging!! AWKA DON CAST is a hot joint. D beatz and d rap delivery is outta dis world. Lol. The HipHop scene in d East has really exploded. Different Catz doin their thang. Nwanne, Awka don cast oo. Lolz.
