It was supposed to be a good date. Instead, it ended up being a nightmare. The Enugu student hopes to use her personal tragedy to help others An Esut student who endured a horrible, terrifying experience has taken to her social space to call out an alleged rapist who roams about free in Enugu State. She turned her tragedy into something she hopes will help ladies in the coal city state “this is my Story, on a very good day (2017) I was in my lodge in school, Enugu state university of science and technology (ESUT) my friend visited me from University of Nsukka (UNN) my friends cousin came with her so she (my friends cousin) told us she would call her friend (a guy) to take us out because girls were bored, so she called him and he asked us to o come meet him where he was (Villa Toscana) Enugu, we came and we ordered Fish and drinks, by the time we finished gisting and eating it was too late to go back to my school (Agbani) so he decided that we we should all lodged in a hotel and go back to school the next morning. I and my friends were in the same room while he was in a separate room, we were all gisting and eventually I became comfortable with him. Later at night he asked me to come to the hotel bar that he wanted to talk to me about my friend that he really likes her and wants to be in a relationship with her and he wants me to help him talk to her. So I went downstairs only to see him standing in front of his room so he asked me to come inside ( I never suspected anything giving the fact that he was my friend's friend) so I came inside, next thing he locked the door and told me that if I scream nobody will come to my aid because he was familiar with all the workers at the hotel so even if I scream I'd be wasting my time, I was still confused and immediately I started crying and begging him he told me to shut up and lie on the bed and he asked me to open my legs and he put on his phone torch and put the light in between my legs (didn't know what that meant) next thing he did was to forcefully tear my dress, I was still crying and begging him he didn't listen to me(well you know the rest). When he finished he asked me to leave the room, I was broken into pieces I didn't know what to do, I went upstairs, ran into the bathroom and called my very close friend onyinye and told her what happened so she asked me to calm down, I couldn't sleep so I sat down counting hours untill it was 6am, alot was running through my mind I was scared, what if I had gotten an infection?, what if the guy had AIDS? What would I tell my mum? So I went to the hospital to next morning and ran some tests, meanwhile I got some antibiotics while waiting for my test results to be out, eventually my results came out and I was free, this is a chapter in my life I never wanted to open, not even my family members knew about it, because if I had told my brothers I'm sure the guy would be dead today and I didn't want that plus I was scared. Apparently I wasn't his only victim, because few weeks back my friend sent me this picture and told me he saw it on his class group chat and he picture was going round Esut group chats and I also learnt that he also dupes girls, takes money from them, promising them he can help them make more money. He told me his name was KENE while his real name is OBUMNEME. This is his picture me fellow sisters incase you run across him, RUN! OBUMNEME NNAJI is a RAPIST! He is from Amurri Agbani Thank you to my friends ONYINYE, OLUCHI, AMAKA and CHISOM who were there for me and gave me the support I needed. God bless you all. Enugu state. #saynotorape #saynotorape #saynotorape❌ UPDATED FROM Instagram ( @Pecohub.Media )

A huge appreciation to Upfront With Sandra whose platform my story was told. Appreciation goes out to Davido for reaching out and other brands who reached out. A lot has happened in the past. I erred, other parties involved had their fair share of blame, but we all make mistakes. I was younger and new in the industry and in retrospect, some things could have been done differently instead of left unresolved. However in telling my story, I have not lied but only shared my story as it happened from my own point of view. Also i allowed the hurt & pain from past dealings take over my emotions but moving on, I appreciate everyone clamoring for my return both online and offline. I’m also asking Cynthia Morgan fans all over the world for understanding and patience on the new journey we are about to embark on. I won’t take this new opportunity for granted. My heartfelt appreciation once again goes to JUDE and JOY. It is the pain speaking, not Cynthia. Thanks for giving me the platform to grow the Cynthia Morgan brand. I have learnt the importance of opening up and sharing when one is going through challenges in life as mine is a testament of this. Appreciation to all media houses and blogs. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has launched a legal action against President Muhammadu Buhari government and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. SERAP dragged them to the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Abuja over the “brutal crackdown, repression, and grave violations and abuses of the human rights.” The body, in suit number ECW/CCJ/APP/20/20, accused Wike of using COVID-19 as a pretext to step up repression and systematic abuses against the people of Rivers State. It said this included demolitions, mass arbitrary detention, mistreatment, forced evictions, and imposing pervasive controls on daily life. SERAP complained that Wike was using Executive Orders 1 and 6, 2020 to abuse the rights to liberty and freedom, contrary to Nigeria’s international obligations, including under the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. SERAP said that Wike and his government failed to respect, protect and ensure the constitutionally and internationally guaranteed human rights of the people of his state. It noted that the federal government, being the signatory to ECOWAS treaties and protocols, cannot escape its responsibility to ensure that the human rights guaranteed under human rights treaties to which Nigeria is a party. SERAP explains that suing the federal government alongside Wike “is entirely consistent with article 27 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, which provides that a state may not invoke the provisions of its internal law as justification for its failure to perform a treaty.” The rights group is asking the court for an order of injunction to “restrain and stop Governor Wike from further using, applying and enforcing executive orders 1 and 6 or any other executive orders to harass, arbitrarily arrest, detain and demolish property of the people of Rivers state.” SERAP is also seeking an order directing the defendants to pay “adequate monetary compensation to the victims of human rights violations and abuses, and to provide other forms of reparation, which may take the form of restitution, satisfaction or guarantees of non-repetition, and other forms of reparation that the Honourable Court may deem fit to grant.” The suit filed on SERAP’s behalf by its solicitors, Kolawole Oluwadare, Atinuke Adejuyigbe and Opeyemi Owolabi, said the, “wanton destruction of people’s property, harassment, arrest, and detention of persons exercising their rights to personal liberty and other human rights amount to an affront to the Nigerian constitution of 1999 (as amended) and the country’s international human rights obligations.” “Demolition of hotels and guest houses is illegal and unconstitutional, as it runs afoul of the penalty stipulated in the Quarantine Act, which provides only a fine of N200 or imprisonment for a term of six months or both. The demolition is a blatant violation of article 14 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. “Governor Wike’s demolition workers and security agents without due process of law demolished Prudent Hotel, Alode in Eleme, and Etemeteh Hotel in Onne on Saturday, May 9, 2020, and flagrantly breached the rights of the owners, employees and occupiers. The demolitions were supervised by Governor Wike in the company of security agents of the Federal Government. “SERAP contends that Governor Wike with the complicity or support of the Federal Government of Nigeria carried out these demolitions without giving adequate notice, compensation, alternative hotel or affording the victims legal remedies. Many people have now been deprived of their means of livelihood, employment and shelter, and exposed to other serious human rights violations and abuses.” FOR MORE BREAKING NEWS::::: https://instagram.com/pecohub.media #PecohubMedia #Lalasticlala #Seun #Missyb
