good house,

is anyone still on this site?

if i could ask some questions about romanian study visa... for a masters program? please

1, Do we need to bring that visa fees to the embassy, in cash? ... and if so, will it be in naira or dollars?? .. or what??

2, applying a visa for masters degree, does the embassy require any document (proof) of where you currently working / where you've previously worked in nigeria ?... or no?

3, could i use a parent's bank statement as proof of funds? ( if so, how much is the closing balance expected to be) ?

and does the account statement need to dated 3 months prior ? .. ... or how much time do they require on the statement?

i pray someone answers to this...

Thanks much

Hello. I admire your courage but I think that you could be having problems with IELTS because you need to improve your vocabulary. As you have seen, IELTS is more than just knowing how to speak English, it is knowing how to use words correctly. So, in order to improve your vocabulary, I would suggest the following tips:

- Read a lot of books. Most books, especially best sellers, are usually written in good English and proof-read a couple of times.

- Read a lot of articles. I don't mean all these nonsense they post on Nigerian blogs. I mean articles from newspapers and even foreign media, ESPECIALLY British Media.

- Watch the news channels regularly, especially BBC and SkyNews. These are available on DSTv and even GOtv.

- Get a dictionary and try to learn a new word everyday. It helped me a lot when I was in secondary school.

- Try to search for British-based podcasts and listen to them regularly as well.

When you feel confident in yourself to re-take the test, use the following online materials to prepare yourself:

ieltsonlinetests.com

YouTube Channels: IELTS Liz, E2 IELTS and English Speaking Success

However, if you feel confident in yourself that you passed your previous exams, you can apply to have your answers re-marked. It would cost you some money but if your marks are upgraded, you will be refunded fully.

I hope you ace your next examination.

My man @ dee1504..

Out here dropping some legendary knowledge... .. smiley)))
Yes sirr!!! ...

I love when you said """ all those nonsense they be posting up on nigerian blogs """

Thats facts man... .. Most of these shit in naija is pure trash.. ..
Thats why they still make africans(nigerians) go through IELTS, TOEFL & stuff..

They aint making jamaicans , barbados & them.. .. Go through nothing like that though...

Go figure!!!!

Big shout to my man @dee1504... . For that gem

And to the nurse,
best wishes on the next exams.... .
Give them hell !!!
Break a leg !!!

Ok guys... here is my progress since my last post.
Here is my IELTS result (It was easier than I thought, given I did not even practice at all. Just focus on the requirement of each module and be familiar with them - so that you know what you are doing at every point in the exams - you should be fine.), just waiting for police cc, picking it up on Wednesday. Unlike Alagbon, Abuja takes 3 to 5 working days get it.
Pls who has info on MFB that do proof of fund for a fee? I need to get the 28days running before getting COS so that I wont have to wait out the period before staring my visa application process.

What do we bring to the table that can be termed "exceptional"? Our Universities do not qualify to the category producing "global talents". It does not mean global talents are not emerging but our system is not the one producing them. Its a simple truth.

New UK visa exempts Nigerian university graduates

The United Kingdom is set to begin issuance of a new visa that allows holders of first degrees, masters, and doctorates to travel to the country and work in fields such as science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship by May 30.

The visa – high potential individual visa, allows applicants to relocate to the UK without a prior job offer or sponsorship. Meanwhile, some of the requirements exempted those who graduated from Nigerian universities.

The UK government had said that in order to qualify for the HPI visa, applicants needed to have been awarded a degree from an overseas university. The university has to be one of the top global universities as published in the global universities list by the Home Office.

The government noted that the list would be compiled annually and would comprise institutions included in the list of the top 50 universities in at least two of the following ranking systems: Times Higher Education World University rankings, Quacquarelli Symonds World University rankings, and the Academic Ranking of the World Universities.

Also, the applicants must have been awarded a degree, equivalent to or not less than a UK bachelor’s degree.

Meanwhile, checks showed that Nigerian universities do not appear in any of these global rankings.

The UK had been one of the choice destinations for many Nigerians seeking to relocate abroad for academic and work purposes

Of course, , up on that list, they gonn have mostly ONLY u.s.a , , Canada & them... .

Might be a cold day in hell before it happens
BUT
They better come up with a whole other list for African TOP universities / east-central Europe / south-american TOP unis & them .... . Lol

Make that s**t fair.. !!!!!

Just saying !!!!

Which kain wahala be this for oyinbo people? I imagined say na after CoS we go De speak all this English. Should I tell them that I want to wait for their CoS first? What if they give me the CoS tomorrow tomorrow?

Abeg are you a bros ,a sis or a shim ( just trying to be careful )

As it stands oh..... E hard to get a *congratulations mail* based on this HCA role if you have no visa, have no history of work/skilling in UK, and U need an undefined COS!

When I ticked I had a visa and had the right to work on indeed abstract jobs.....in one week my mail was flooded with mails. Out of the first five interviews I landed four jobs. (Well let's just say I know book small sha)

But U see...... I need the COS and those offers where withdrawn except for one pending ryt now.

However, I have submitted mails whey go fit don full two Lagos brt bus......and I know people who have also done same!

Nothing!

Infact I no dey even read mail again.... Dear XYZ thank you for....I go just delete d mail....

So please give us more insight on how u landed the cos

@ stanvesco...

i couldnt read all that stuff you writing in pidgin bro... .. .. please excuse me... .. ... i guess i got the general point tho..

So, as far as how we landed the COS / THE JOB, i already wrote a whole lot on that, , in the previous pages ..
Some of the guys wrote on that too .... in the previous pages ..
i know its lotta work but If you may, , , please read-on back & get all the info you looking for ...

As far as male / female / transgendered.. .

Please my questions are do they tell you unofficially that you've got the job, before emailing an offer? And what is the typical timeline for decision making, from your experience specifically?

heyy @ Ijyoma.. ... what up?

i could only answer for myself... / my situation...

So, soon as we completed the interview... i already knew i was gettin the job, , cos they was talkin about needing IELTS, POLICE REPORT, yada yada.. . (in other words, they were unofficially letting me know.. .. .. kinda)

2 DAYS later, they sent the provisional offer letter, talking about offering the job & documents needed from me (IELTS , covid report blah blah)

i convinced them that i aint have none of those documents.. .. .. they said to send what i have / i did that . .. . . they went ahead with that COS...

Granted , i was over-qualified for the job..
but timeline works differently for different company / INTERVIEWEE qualifications..... . if you ask me...

So, in your case, , dont even trip, , they'll come around.. & when they dont (not to jinx nothing), , but in like in a week, , please reach out & find out..

All the best...

SIDE-NOTE..
Nigerians get too edgy & jumpy over situations like reaching-out ..... they gonna say it looks desperate.. .. not saying to be an ass in your e-mails.. . . but aint no desperation in getting answers that you need.. .. Gotta be confident, , smooth & appealing all in the same damn time.. .
and
God forbid the thing fails, , who gives a flying f**k??.. . we get another one / another way.. .. Cant be stopped ... . Thats why we still alive !!! .. .
Thats the mind-set to have..

Best wishes again...

Good evening Dear NLs,

Big ups to everyone, from the originator of this thread to all the contributors, we shall all succeed in our japa struggle. I have been following this thread since I searched it up and every information have been helpful.

I rebuilt my cv and applied for 5 jobs that does not require experience in HC. I got the attached mail from one of the employer.

I only have My Intl passport and Academic and work records at the moment. My question is: Should I wait to get all docs before responding or reply with what i currently have and tell them I will forward the rest soon?
I understand forwarding these documents will qualify me for interview. Pls has anyone been in this shoe before? Your kind response please. Thank you.

@Teemty007... whats going on?
So, on the attached email, , them folks wrote "" at your earliest convenience"" right?

So the time is NOW... .. if you ask me !!!

Below is what i did before i landed the interview... .. you DONT gotta do none of that tho... .. only my 2 cents / use your discretion..

So goin in , , I was probably (definitely) overly qualified but i only sent my CV / INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT / LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION..

I gotta tell you , , i was mad convincing in the e-mail back to them...
Told them , , in order NOT to waste much of their time, , i was sending what i got but was coming up FAST with the remainder of the documents.. . .

Cos in nigeria, , it sometimes dont go smooth as planned , , so most of them might need some time to get .. e.g , ,
IELTS ( That needs enrollment / preppin & actually sitting for the exam)
TUBERCULOSIS ( Pretty much the same, , only one/two centres running the entire country)

like said,
you dont gotta do what i did...
its different strokes for different folks.. .. . use your discretion... . . . do it ONLY like your mind tells you too..

All the best brother.. .
its gonna be good !!!
