quick question, if i may.. please

so in place of havin the 1,270 pounds in your own account, ,

is there a chance that an uncle BORN & LIVING in london, , his bank statements/ house proof/mortgage payments etc, , would suffice as proof of support during the visa application ??

any credible responces will be appreciated.. . thanks much

Good morning my people!

Thanks for everyone’s contribution here.

Please can any one show me a sample of a letter of proof of English as a means of instruction at my undergraduate level from their school?

I need a letter from my school starting that I was thought in English for “Ecctis/Naric.
And they are asking me for a sample/template.

Thanks for your expected responses
Heyyy... @tinababe
how you doing?

I studied overseas, so i dont know if it counts.. . but i think its pretty much the same..
So, all you gotta do is reach out to your school, let em know you need a letter that says "'all your studies was conducted in english language"'
They'll know what to do..

i mean, thats what i did as well.. .. . sent an email to them, , let em know what i was looking for and they delivered..

if you e-mail me, i'll let you see mine (im not feeling to post that thing on here)..

but its really not that complicated though.. .. . e-mail the school, & using the school's letter head paper, , they'll write a short specific note with your full names, talking that you studied in english / sign and stamp it.. .. thats all

Best Wishes..

You can imagine how your interview went.. That's effort and grace.. I made the mistake of answering a question wrongly because I didn't here them properly, as the interview continued, I realized what she was trying to say, so at the end of the interview, I told them.that they asked me a question earlier on but at that point I didn't understand it, but now I do. I repeated the question and then answered it. They added the points.

Though they are the ones that haven't gotten back to me.

Do you have any offer now?
You was smart for pulling that move bro.. .. EMURATE 1.. shout out to you.. coming back at the end and killing em with it..

BUT
Yeah man, its all good, you gonna get the offer though.. believe that !!... and not to jinx anything, , BUT lets say you dont, , we gonna keep looking right?? .. cant be stopped.. Till they give it to us.. .. ( but i think you mentioned you already got like 2 offers right?)

And yes sirr , , I got the offer like A day after the interview.. .

My deal is that british accent that i gotta deal with now... .. lol.. that s***t be killin me, specially when the un-urban white chiks speak.. , gotta listen closely cos i dont know what they talking about, , half the time..
But
Its gonna be good tho.. . its still english

You really can't blame them for squeezing their face. We have been used to very silly HR here in Nigeria. Who born you to smile for interview room. I made sure I dropped every Nigerian mentality going into those interview. Smiling sends a lot of message to the interviewer. Another important factor, make sure you're calm, no need to rush in answering any question. Tell them to repeat the question if you don't understand it. Sometimes when they ask me a question, I will paraphrase the question back to them and ask if that's what they meant. Oyigbo no get problem.
Btw, I have always used my phone for every interview. But I keep it at angle so they can see from my stomach upwards..
Yes sirrr... EMURATE 1

smiley)))) .. im already smiling (laughing) now.. . Oyibos are open & free-spirited indeed !!!
But Yepp.. you nailed it sirr!!

I was chilling (calm) the whole time.. .. asked to repeat certain questions...
I even used some words that even she (interviewer) didnt understand.. . . now, she asking me to explain the thing (need to be exactly sure you know what you saying though).. . ..

I was on phone the whole time too.. .. the microsoft thing was trippin, so they could only see me BUT not hear me on microsoft teams .. . . So for visuals, we was on microsoft teams .... BUT for audio, we was on whatsapp on my phone ...

Bottom line anyways , is like you said.. . SMILE / SHOW UP DRESSED TO IMPRESS / ASK TO REPEAT CERTAIN QUESTIONS / HAVE FUN WITH THE THING (If you know what i mean)

oh...
Say a prayer too..

Best Wishes !!!

Hey guys. I want to drop a few interview tips. This is just based on what I have done with good result. Might not always work.

I've had 3 interviews. I have been successful at 2, awaiting response for the 3rd one. The 3 interviews were less than 15 minutes. One of them was 6 minutes 37 seconds. I was told that I'd be employed before the interview ended.

Firstly, You need to involve God. Very important.

During the interview, it is important that you speak as much as you can. If you are asked a question, don't just give a short response. I was scheduled for an interview of 30 minutes, at the 12th minute, the manager told me that she does not have any more question to ask me, she said I had already talked about everything she needed to ask.

Secondly, don't keep a serious face, smile. Answer your questions with a smile. You could chip in a soft laughter at the right time. My 3 interviews, we have always had that laughter. You can not be taking care of patients and be frowning. Show them how good you are at it.
It got the extent that, when the manager is asking me a question, she's smiling already, if I am quiet thinking about an answer to a question, she's giving me that big smile. I am also returning the smile, then answering the question in a not so serious way. PLEASE AND PLEASE, NO GO DEY SMILE DEY TALK RUBBISH.

Thirdly, Please Google about the care home. Even if you are not asked anything about the care home, you have several opportunity to chip it in when answering some of the questions. You could chip in when the care home was found, how many rooms, their ratings, values etc. It will always give you an edge.

Fourthly, Don't join the interview late. I was scheduled for an interview 12:30. I was online with Microsoft teams as early as 12:20. We started the interview before 12:30. Put on a shirt. Look neat. Let it be a quiet and professional background. Use good network. Dial *21*17010# to block incoming calls. Dial #21# to cancel.

Lastly, Pray to God. You can never go wrong with that
Great pointers...
Specially over smiling / Clean attitude !!

Naija folks , for the most part , stay squeezing , looking mad all the time... .. .. that s***t is sad sometimes.. .

A smile goes a long way .. .. .. But what do i know !!!

Nice work tho @ Emurate1

I thank you maam for writing back...

Since the vaccine is regulated, im thinking on just getting the test & sending the proof (covid card) to the company.. .
i think it may suffice...

please, what do you say maam??

LagosismyHome:
The vaccine is regulated. I don't think just anybody gives vacine so if you see vaccine then it is an approved provider.

My man@ efilefun.....

Thanks for the prompt responce sir.. .. appreciate it..

So i might need to pay in naira and its going to be the EXACT USD equivalent right? .. i hope they wont start asking me to add a little something for them. (if you know what i mean)

Cos all of our cash is bugdeted now, for all these payments that is needed here & there..

But yeah, i salute you sir..

Thanks indeed....

OH,
by the way, please, what do you know about this SURCHAGE payment??.. everyone needs to pay that too?? during the visa application or what?
So, we pay the SURCHAGE & then pay the VISA APPLICATION fees too .. right?

DeltaWest:
You can find info about the tuberculosis testing centres in Nigeria here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeria

There's lots of info about skilled worker visas in here: https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa. It's the UK government website, so lots of info, but maybe not in the most readable way. Here is a good blog post that also talks about the different visa options: https://www.student.com/articles/how-to-live-and-work-in-the-uk-after-studying. The skilled worker visa is the one called "Tier 2 visa" in that post.

If i may ask you a few questions, please sir... thanks..

The TUBERCULOSIS test, .. are there designated centres for that?? or could i get it from anywhere and its gonn be acceptable?

The police clearance report, could i get that from any police station & it will suffice ??

the company asking for covid test too.. do you know if i could get it from anywhere? & its all good?..

please respond sir...

thank you kindly..

LagosismyHome:
IELTS, police clearance , TB are mandatory....Even if you get a job and you get COS and you don't have these , the embassy will reject

Hardly any company is going to apply for the COS without seeing that you truly have these. It cost them money as well on application fee. So what the point doing a COS for someone without proof of English

dee1504:
Hello,

As a Medical doctor in Nigeria, these are the steps to follow to get a job in the UK:

1. Write IELTS and pass
2. Write Plab 1 and pass
3. Pass Plab 2 and Write Plab 2
4. Pass plab 2, confirm your registration with MDCN is up to date
Ask for Certificate of Good standing to be sent to GMC
4. Register with GMC
5. Start Job applications
6.Secure a Job and apply for VISA
7. Come to the UK

I do not know the country you graduated from so I cannot say if the same rules apply but you can check the GMC website for more information. You can also check if the IELTS can be substituted with ECCTIS certificate for you to write PLAB 1 but I am sure you can use ECCTIS for visa application.

Visa Alert (Skilled Worker)

Visa Application - 15th February
Biometric- 18th February
Application sent to DMC - 18th February
Application sent to VAC - 3rd March
Visa Collected - 4th March.

I know most people here are on the Health abs Care worker path so I’m writing this to also assist those on the skilled worker Tier 2 path.

Step 1: Finding and Getting a Job
First thing (and most important is looking for a job that matches your work experience. I work in the finance sector so I applied to just about every consulting/ Big 4/ Finance company that had openings that matched my skill level. It’s important that when you read the JB, your CV can back it up. Most companies do key word searches to sort through all the CV’s they receive. So if you are an engineer go through the career page for Shell, Rolls Royce, if you are in IT…the world is your oyster. I sent out about 36 applications. Multiple within the same organization.
From there it moved to the interview stage. Practice as much as you can. Not just to know what to say but to feel comfortable enough to let the conversation flow. Also if you are sent the name of the interviewer ahead of time…do a little stalking. LinkedIn even Instagram. You might just find something you have in common.
I had 2 interviews (a month apart) before I received my offer about a month after the 2nd interview.

Step 2: COS
After I accepted my offer, my company had to perform a background check. This took about a month to complete (mainly because of the Christmas break). After that they moved on to the COS. My job needed a copy of my TB certificate to begin and that took a while but once I sent it in it took less than 2 weeks for my COS to be issued to me. I didn’t need to make any payment for this.

Step 3: Visa application.
There are enough posts that detail the requirements but I’ll just like your the documents I submitted.
Completed visa application, copy of COS, copy of University degree (schooled abroad), copy of passport data page and all previous UK visas and immigration stamps for the past 10 years, job offer letter) (I didn’t to show proof of funds)

I hope this was helpful to someone.
@emike92..
good day,
i hope you get to read this sir.. or if anyone would respond, please ,

only a few questions, if thats ok?.. thanks..

so i graduated with a medical-school degree overseas, im asking, for the u.k skilled worker visa application,
1, do you think i need to sit for the IELTS ? .. OR..
2, do i EVEN need to send my medical degree on the Ecctis website for evaluation ? and that will be enough to prove i already studied a major course overseas in english language .. ?

SIDE-NOTE.. ...
i also have a proof from the university i attended, saying that all my medical studies was conducted in english language.. so, lets say i evaluate my medical degree/diploma on the Ecctis website, will it suffice? or will they STILL need that IELTS exam proof before granting me that visa...?

cos on the website gov.uk, .. it says a lot of things , .. proof of knowledge of english , .. then it also says your UK PhD certificate, or your unique Ecctis reference number (formerly unique UK NARIC reference number) if your qualification is from outside the UK - you’ll need to apply through Ecctis . . . ( But i guess thats ONLY for the PHD HOLDERS right sir ??)

it also says,
If you’re a doctor, dentist, nurse, midwife or vet
You DO NOT need to prove your knowledge of English if you’ve already passed an English Language assessment that is accepted by the relevant regulated professional body.
If you’re a vet, you may need to prove that you passed an English Language assessment with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

im not sure what to make of this, please if you may respond, it will be appreciated .... let me know where i stand ..
i thank you kindly sir..
