neyop85: When someone like Obasanjo speaks you will know he is hurting with jealousy and hatred. This same Obasanjo ruined our power sector, 20 billion dollars was pumped into the sector without a single success story. Lagos-Ibadan expressway was left in complete comatose, railway was a mess, no single legacy project from this old man. During his time, crude oil was sold above 100 dollars per barrel and yet no single legacy project. Today, look at projects such as Lagos-calabar coastal road, Sokoto-Badagry expressway, student loans, free tuition and stipend for technical students nation wide, Muritalah Muhammed Airport complete remodelling and rehabilitation after decades of neglect, every geopolitical zone currently has major project ongoing. Yet, Obasanjo who had massive oil windfall couldn't even rehabilitate Lagos-Ibadan expressway (an exisiting major road). This man has no moral justification to critic Tinubu who is building roads from scratch. Obasanjo's regime wasn't disturbed with insecurity, not because he was excellent as a leader but because Gadaffi was in power in Libya and thus the sahel wasn't destabilized. Despite that, despite the security stability, he achieved nothing. By the time Tinubu is done, his successes will further destroy Obasanjo and label him a crook and thief for all to see.
Speaking out of your ... Do you even know what $20 billion is? The actual investment in power plants was $8 billion and the results were there until subsequent governments came in. Wasn't NEPA privatised in 2013 by Jonathan and because of minimal government oversight, the outfit was totally mismanaged? Who told you Obasanjo's regime wasn't disturbed with insecurity? Wasn't Boko Haram already functional when he was president? Didn't he meet with their leader and kept him in his place? Do you even know the might of Nigeria's military at the time or why they used to call Nigeria giant of Africa then? Why was he the one sending troops to Liberia and Sierra Leone, even Kenya and Uganda while Gaddafi was alive?
Nigeria had over 70 billion dollars in excess crude and foreign reserves when he left. He lobbied debt forgiveness and reduced Nigeria's debt from $36 billion (1999) to around $3 billion (when he left) before the wolves came in. You're talking gibberish.
anonimi: How much responsibility does Obasanjo have for Tinubu’s emergence as president after Buhari who he endorsed in 2015 to end 16 years of PDP prosperity that was driven by Atiku’s business acumen in deregulation and privatisation policies?
Widespread prosperity with cheap petrol, low debt, low unemployment, low insecurity, better life etc!
Can anyone imagine how much progress we would have made if Obasanjo didn’t fail in his 3rd term agenda to be life president, before using Iwuruwuru INEC to make dying Yar’Adua president in 2007?
Yar’Adua who promptly reversed his policies of privatising NNPC refineries, partial subsidy removal and cancellation of Obasanjo’s legacy projects like the 2nd Niger bridge.
If he had supported Atiku then, maybe there would have been continuation and the country would not have fallen into the hand of wolves. He tried while he was president. Nigeria was respected across the world and embezzlement of funds was kept minimal. But he miscalculated at the end. So he too has a hand in the current situation.
dapadawee: MUMU you went to another man country saw a stranger for the first time and decided to take her to a park or take her to Cameron. Kirikiri self they there country. Why don't you mention the name of a correctional center in Cameron. And pronounce there own aahawo. Someone came to report a crime to you and next thing is to take laws into your hands or take her to cameroun
She should have taken her to your father's house. She saw a 17-year old girl in trouble but she should have left her there. That's one reason I don't listen to sob stories or try to go out of my way to help anyone who isn't family. Because the average black is always conniving.
stuffs2002: Same Peter Obi who was a monumental failure. Same Peter Obi who never built a primary school Same Peter Obi who never built a secondary school Same Peter Obi who never built a university Same Peter Obi who made doctors in Anambra to go on strike for many months Same Peter Obi who made teachers to go on strike for 13 months Same Peter Obi who spread poverty and poverty rose to over 40% while he was governor
Hamachi: Rhere’s some truth in the pressure many Nigerian men face especially with inflation, unemployment, family responsibilities, and the cultural expectation that a man must always “provide.” That pressure is very real.
But I think this argument becomes unfair when it paints women as if they’re just sitting back doing nothing.
A lot of Nigerian women are also carrying invisible burdens that men often overlook:
They contribute financially in relationships too sometimes quietly. They cook, nurture, support emotionally, adjust careers for marriage, deal with pregnancy risks, childcare expectations, and in many cases still contribute to bills.
Some women are paying their own transport, splitting dates, supporting struggling partners, and even helping men build from scratch but those stories rarely trend because outrage gets more attention.
Also, we need to be honest that many men still tie their identity to being providers. Some insist on paying for everything because it makes them feel needed, then later become resentful about the very role they voluntarily embraced.
And on the flip side, some women absolutely exploit men financially that conversation should happen too. “Billing culture” is real in some circles. But it’s not representative of all women.
The bigger issue is that both genders are often dating with unhealthy scripts:
Men are told: your worth is your wallet. Women are told: your beauty and presence are enough.
Sometimes a man may contribute more financially while a woman contributes more emotionally or domestically. In another relationship, both may split things equally. The key is whether both people genuinely feel valued.
The real question shouldn’t be:
“What am I getting from women?”
It should be:
“Am I in a relationship where effort, sacrifice, and care flow both ways?”
Because there are women being used by emotionally unavailable men. And there are men being used by financially entitled women.
Both experiences are valid.
The solution is not gender wars — it’s choosing better partners, setting boundaries early, and refusing relationships built on entitlement from either side.
There are no lies spoken here. If you ever tried to hire for a creative or tech role, you'll understand what he's saying. If not, keep your opinion to yourself.
Flangelo12: The $2.3 billion Siemens-Nigeria Power Deal (Presidential Power Initiative - PPI) is active and in its second phase as of early 2026, aimed at modernizing Nigeria's power grid and improving reliability.
Following a period of stagnation, the project was revived by President Tinubu's administration. It has successfully delivered and commissioned multiple mobile substations and transformers, yielding roughly 984 MW in additional capacity. The overall target is to reach 25,000 MW with projects ongoing to reduce grid outages.
Key status updates include:
Revival and Status: The partnership was stalled but was revived and accelerated, with, as of early 2026, the project is moving forward under President Tinubu, having seen increased momentum.
Infrastructure Progress: Siemens has delivered and installed 132/33 KV mobile substations and several 75/100 MVA and 60/66 MVA transformers nationwide.
Phase 2 Goals: The project is currently focused on upgrading seven lines and installing 10 transmission lines covering 554 km to boost capacity to 7,140 MW. . Key Focus: The deal seeks to mitigate grid failure, increase electricity access, and upgrade key transmission substations.
Timeline: The project timeline was extended, with some critical project components (substations) expected to be finalized around 2026.
Btruth: You dey mind them? Most of the people saying the N1,000 is valueless don't know what's happening beyond Nigeria. Can anyone feed comfortable with either $1 or £1 abroad? And ordinarily, N1,000 will feed a man on the street at any Buka. Quote me.
Anyone who still can't tell oyibos are trying to push a Rwanda genocide situation in Nigeria is sleeping on a bicycle (Yes,Channel 4 is in the UK but everyone knows they are in the USA's pocket) .Christians AND moslems are getting massacred equally but they keep pushing the narrative only christians are getting killed by "jihadists"
The USA/Israel are the ones sponsoring this instability in the North using their Nigerian proxies inorder to remove the inhabitants from their ancestral land to get access to the rare earth minerals in the soil
Is this delusion or propaganda? Is the Rwandan situation not different from this? Everyone knows this one has a religious sentiment to it. The more you and your APC paymasters keep twisting the narrative and paying millions to lobbyists, the more you reveal your stupidity to the world.
The way those criminals are slicing and burning babies and little children, it's obvious the demon Molech is at work. I believe those people are not really in Islam, they are idol worshippers who have sold their souls to Molech willingly or unwillingly.
Maybe there's a level you get to in Islam where you get possessed by Malik - the demonic gatekeeper of hell and keep doing his bidding.
Please, matured minds in the house,is it a good thing for a man to help his ex girlfriend who's now married, financially. She used to be someone whom I loved so dearly in the past but unfortunately, she broke up with me immediately she met someone who was already asking her hand in marriage. It's been over 3 years since she got married and I made sure I cut every bit of communication between us. Out of the blue,I don't know who gave her my number. She called me,and apologized for what she did to me. Even before she could ask for my help,I already knew her husband wasn't financially buoyant like I thought. She said she wants to open a provision store ,cuz immediately after they got married, they relocated to Lagos. And she asked for my assistance.
So,I don't know if it's appropriate at all to help her, considering how she left me emotionally stranded when I needed her the most in my life. Tho I've completely moved on with my life, but receiving a call from her brought back a whole lot of memories.
Please,my fellow Nairalanders, reason with me. Should I help her out?
Don't mess with a married woman, especially not your married ex. Even if you're not doing anything with her, the husband will definitely think you are. Plus she will continue asking you for money and you'll definitely get to the point where you sleep together again. Stay away to avoid stories that touch.
Autism is strongly genetic and this kind of rubbish should be strongly discouraged. But imagine 1,000 able-bodied men who would rather marry an autistic woman than work for money. This tells you the mentality of Naija youths.
It's now down to the people to create or buy weapons and hunt these bandits down themselves. The government is definitely complicit and incapable of doing anything meaningful.
Forget the tales by moonlight. No one talks about the loud arguments and many hurts that went between the lines. If you don't judge a book by it's cover in today's dating market, it's going to be a crazy long ride.
Can anyone see the Grok watermark at the bottom right of this image?
If you show this picture to a baby wey just drop for him mama cervix, him go ask you say, "How come MKO is walking with the same Abacha who imprisoned him?"
Anyone can walk with anybody. There is zero context here. Does that look like an image Grok would generate? Use your head.
Sonnobax15: Jokes apart,in terms of corruption,na only Peter Obi be the only better name for the opposition. The rest of them are all bunch of criminals who once benefitted from the same APC
I wonder why people are trying to defend them as if they're saints where in real sense, they're not
They are all corrupt. Peter Obi just seems like the lesser of three evils
The logic is, even if Kwam 1, is from Awujale royal family, should he have been showing interest to be the new Awujale if not because of the strong rejection.
Same is applicable to the current Olubadan. A former politician, might even be present, add ruggedity to it as the King, even if he's from a royal family. Why
House wey dey in peace, you should know the rest.
Oyo state should be very careful in handling their issues. As for the Alaafin, let me still reserve my reservation because the logic is mutual across the other SW states
The Lisabi day is nothing more like freedom from the Oyo empire. So as how other places have the same mentality based on the past.
Please OYO, you can see you are on your own, handle it with care please. Rumor or true
Fayose is actually from Ibadan. He doesn't usually do baseless rumors. Something might be brewing. But putting it out there without solid evidence is classless.
