Properties / Re: What Is Your Worst Experience With A Tenant? by Jimoh7555: 1:10pm On Jun 10, 2020 |
This stubborn woman tenant started selling herbal medicine (Agbo) which graduated into cigarette which I cautioned her but told me that's where she will make the money to feed her daughters and pay rent. She was evicted afterwards but she rented a shop beside our compound from a very foolish landlord and now she has become dealer in weed, attract cult guys and battling it out with the whole community now. She repeated the same statement to the CDA. 1 Like 1 Share |
Crime / How Can I Stop The Activities Of Cultist In My Compound by Jimoh7555: 9:07pm On May 22, 2020 |
Good day nairalanders.... Over the years I've seen people seek opinion on this platform and today I will like to have your opinion as regards this issue I'll be sharing with you. About a year ago, I had a tenant who started selling herbal medicine in front of my house, initially I wasn't against it as it could be useful to anyone in the community. But later, coming back home from work, I noticed some unknown persons sitting in front of the house smoking cigarette and immediately I called her to order that she will not be allowed to sell such. Fast forward to few months later, she was sent parking from the house because of the same issue. While she was given time to quit, she went to my neighbor who had a shop that was not occupied at that time and she was allowed to rent it. Note that I share boundary with this particular neighbor. Now the activities of these guys and the woman have grown to the extent that, few weeks ago during the start of the lockdown, cultist came to have meeting in that community and they always smoke all sort of stuffs at the back of the shop which is at the back of my own window and whenever they are smoking the whole of my room will be filled with the smoke and this is now unbearable to me as we have a new born baby with us. The community is not helpful as some of the lardlords do come around to drink beer and smoke too and whenever any decision is taken they will come and inform the woman. Even her new landlord has not been helpful as we've reported the case but no reasonable action have been taken to that effect. Note, he smokes and drink beer from the woman too. Police have been coming around too but it seems they now collect bribe from the woman. Please I need your opinion on the way out before these guys smoke us out. |

Politics / No Meter, No Payment Of Electricity Bill By April 2020 by Jimoh7555: 5:27pm On Mar 17, 2020 |
Following the recent order from Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) dated 20 February 2020, there is a new deadline for electricity customers to be metered by DISCOs latest by April 2020 or such electricity customers will not be liable to pay any estimated bill issued by any DISCO and cannot be disconnected from electricity supply. Specifically, by “ORDER ON THE CAPPING OF ESTIMATED BILLS IN THE NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INDUSTRY, 2020” issued by NERC, signed on 20 February 2020, NERC, mandates DISCOs to identify and meter all electricity users before 30 April 2020. While energy cap has been prescribed for low tariff customers of R2 and C1 classes, all other higher tariff customers are not to pay electricity bill once they are not metered by their DISCOs by 30 April 2020. Such customers of higher tariff classes must remain connected to electricity supply even without payment until a meter is installed on their property by DISCO/MAP. The above stated order of NERC repealed NERC’s (Methodology for Estimated Billing) Regulations 2012, thereby abolishing estimated billing of electricity customers in any part of Nigeria. It also set the maximum fee that any unmetered user can be charged in any part of Nigeria, monthly. The said Order from NERC applies and binds all the electricity Distribution Companies in Nigeria. The distribution companies in Nigeria, are; Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC), Benin Electricity Distribution Plc (BEDC), Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDC), Enugu Electricity Distribution Plc (EEDC), Ibadan Electricity Distribution Plc (IBEDC), Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JEDC), Kaduna Electricity Distribution Plc (KNEDC), Kano Electricity Distribution Plc (KEDC), Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc (PHEDC) and Yola Electricity Distribution Company Plc (YEDC). My authority is NERC’s ORDER ON THE CAPPING OF ESTIMATED BILLS IN THE NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INDUSTRY, 2020. This order was also published on pages 20 and 21 of ThisDay Newspaper on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
