@kazuna. If these buildings are not accessible. That is okay. We can add accessible buildings at different locations in conjunction with these buildings creating a nice scene. |

@mnairaland. Lets just stick with Goats Revolt story and decide which one to use. I am working on barrack models. Dormitory. ClassRoom. @dueal nice idea. However, I personally feel that Goatie should be badass from the beginning. Hence, we should go straight to barrack level missions. All these initial oppressions shows weaknesses. They should be part of the cut-scene like dueal suggested earlier. Do we want to establish a weak or strong character for goatie? If we want to establish a strong character. Then, he should not be portrayed as a dump animal but an intelligent one born into oppression and refuses to be oppressed. |

kazuna: before one starts to model the 3D terrain it is important that a schematic is created to help determine where strategic game play elements will be located. D schematic is d first step in d preproduction process to create d level.....but here everyone seems to be comin up wt a drafts but no precise schematic.....@jivi who is incharge of level design? Will he be soley responsible for it? Here i see overlappin of roles here?well, since we are not much in number. The overlapping of roles is inevitable. This is not like a game company. Everyone is sort of bringing in ideas and the best one is taken. Also, dueal is responsible for the level design but it seems he has his hands full right now. |

If people think the story is unacceptable, we scrap it. This is the time we can be as flexible as we want with how the story starts or ends as long as it starts from the barrack |
We are working in phases. Some phase depends on others. We are currently working on the level design for the barracks which requires level designers and modelers. The game starts at the barracks. kenni story contribution starts at the barrack. So, we are still on point. |
Well, thinking about it, nothing really went backward. Things just got more polished and improved. |
Bulldog: this is just moving one step forward, 2 steps backward and sometimes stagnant. At this rate, 10years wont be enough. I think i suggested this being divided into groups with each group having a defined function and not necessarily interfering with another group unless a person 's in two groups or more(which is not very ideal), if that is not done, the truth remains that we will continue with "name dropping" and showcasing talents with no purpose.This is the best time to make changes. If it has to be made, then it should be made. |

Thats is what a design document will do. It will reduce the changes. The game design team would be the committee. We can afford to change because the models and concept arts being created can still fit into the changing stories. The moment a level is sort of set, the changes will be minor or non-existent. There will always be changes. |
However, you can focus on the story part of the game design document but in details. |

I might think goatie got to the mountain but was recaptured. By then, he already had the mindset of goats have their rights too etc and he was rescued by the mountain bad guys before the war begins. Probably, in the process of rescuing him bellie got caught. |
Can you develop your story into further details like making it into a game design document that programmers and artist can follow using concept arts with the help of dueal though. Also, I think the game ending when the animals are going to war would be weird. You could make it seem like the animals are rescued and they are happy and dancing and the game ends like if there was no problem and then maybe in the next game, a new story behind them going to the city for war emerges. |

@kennikazi. I think you have a good story telling talent but I think your story does not have a grand purpose. Can you give goatie a serious meaning. It seems more like we are playing the life of goatie which takes me to another aspect. That means goatie would not die at the end and that means the game can be a series if he does not die at the end. Can you establish a character for goatie other than a random goat. It would be great if you can polish up what is on ground already which is not accredited as you rightly observed or make your story better which creates it into a goatie series(lol) or mix up elements from both side. The previous goatie's drive comes from the need for equality and justice among animals which is not trivial at all but this goatie own reason is because he is cheap which is funny but not really serious hence the players dont get connected to the character represented by goatie. |

@kennikazi I think you are making sense but your story seems to fit into a sort of animated movie kind of stuff as against a game. It is much more developed though. |
dueal: @jivi ..yes it has support for off screen post processing and supports d various shader languages. FSAA work well and is fast enuf so no need for a fallback for now. also runs at 58fps wit all systems active...subsystems can b shutdown or paused at anytimeI would test the amount of polygons out in the binaries you would send. However, based on this 58 fps, approximately how many polygons where you rendering all together (static level + dynamic objects + animated objects + particles and other effects(wall decals etc) and how many lights were in the scene? how many objects had shadows activated etc. These matter in the measurement of frame rate you know. |
