PoliticsBreaking News: GNS Pwajok Passes On by jocelyncherish(op): 11:32am On Oct 29, 2015
Senator GNS Pwajok – the erstwhile senator representing Plateau North Senatorial constituency and flag bearer of the PDP in the just concluded 2015 gubernatorial elections has died. He died this morning (29th October 2015), following complications arising from an earlier ailment which kept him spell bound just after the 2015 elections. It would be recalled that shortly after his shocking loss at the 2015 gubernatorial polls – he took ill (with a cardiac related illness) and was flown over to London for treatment. Following his mild recovery, he returned to Abuja, where he remained and tried to gain full recovery, until his final demise in the early hours of this morning. His unfortunately death came shortly (2 days) after the election of Barr. Simon Lalong of the APC was upheld by the election tribunal sitting in Jos. Feelers have already averred that, the ruling may have been contributory to his death, especially having seen the effect of the shocking loss of the election of April 28th 2015 on his health. Several people who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the late senator lost everything (Assets, Properties) and was heavily indebted following the election. GNS Pwajok will be fondly remembered for his humble and kind nature as well as his charisma, intelligence and forthrightness. Even till death, he remained a true champion of the youth and was a bright and shining star in Plateau politics. May his soul rest in peace. more details to follow……….

SportsUsain Bolt Wins 200m World Championship Gold by jocelyncherish(op): 3:59pm On Aug 27, 2015
Jamaica’s Usain Bolt ran the fastest time of the year in 19.55 seconds to win a record fourth straight world 200 metres title and sweep the individual sprints at a major global championships for a fifth time on Thursday. Five days after beating Justin Gatlin to win the 100 metres , the 29-year-old Olympic champion and world record holder again proved too strong for in-form American, who finished second in 19.74. Anasco Jobodwana took bronze in 19.87 for South Africa ahead of Panama’s Alonso Edward, who was awarded the same time but lost out on a medal by two 1,000ths of a second. Jobodwana’s time was 19.861 and Edward 19.863. The victory gave Bolt a record-extending 10th world championship gold medal and he could yet win an 11th as part of Jamaica’s 4×100 metre relay team on Saturday. Bolt, who had only run one race at the distance coming into the championships after an injury disrupted season, once again produced the goods when it really mattered. The 29-year-old got out of the blocks quicker than Gatlin on his inside and was already in front at the bend, where the American picked up speed and looked like he might threaten the champion. Puffing his cheeks out and swinging his arms high, though, Bolt pounded down the home straight to victory, thumping his chest with his fist as he crossed the line. Bolt and Gatlin had only faced each other once before in a 200 metres race, at the 2005 world championships in Helsinki where the American claimed his first world title in the event and teenager Bolt finished last. That was the year before Gatlin, having just matched the world record, tested positive for a banned substance for a second time and was suspended for four years. Gatlin, 33, had gone unbeaten since 2013 in both sprints coming to Beijing and his was the world leading time that Bolt bettered to take the title. “Usain Bolt’s a legend, man,” said Britain’s Zharnel Hughes, who finished fifth in a personal best time of 20.02 at his first major championships. “Even myself, I even doubted him a bit. But Bolt is phenonmenal. He knows what to do when it comes to major championships. All credit to him.” Turkey’s Ramil Guliyevs (20.11) was sixth ahead of Femi Ogunode of Qatar (20.27) with Bolt’s compatriot Nickel Ashmeade bringing up the rear in 20.33. www.punchng.com/news/usain-bolt-wins-200m-world-championship-gold/
BusinessNigeria Set To Export Pineapple To Italy, Others by jocelyncherish(op): 3:53pm On Aug 27, 2015
The Federal Government’s bid to boost non-oil exports has received a boost as the country will soon begin the export of pineapple in commercial quantity to Italy, Poland and other European countries. The development is the outcome of measures put in place by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council to maximise the potential of the non-oil sector through investments, capacity development, innovation and formidable partnerships. The General Manager, San Carlos Farm, Mr. Obiorah Ugwo, while speaking during a facility tour at Liberty Estate, Independent Layout, Enugu, on Tuesday by officials of NEPC, said there were huge potential for the country through the exportation of agricultural products. The 150-hectare farm is a joint venture between the Enugu State Government and Mexican farming conglomerate, San Carlos. Approved by the Enugu State Government in 2012, the JV, which is estimated to cost the sum of $29m (N4.9bn), was established for commercial production of pineapple for both local consumption and export purposes. Ugwo said owing to the potential of the agricultural sector as a huge foreign exchange earner, the company has decided to venture into integrated farming through the introduction of banana and livestock, particularly cattle rearing. He said, “This is a joint venture and initially, it was planned to cost about $29m and we are still operating on that even though the Naira has been unstable and the government has kept faith with their own side of the bargain and that is why the project has gone this far. “As at December 2014, we did the test export to Italy and as at now, we have about four orders to be serviced and it depends on how we harvest from our fields. “We have orders from Poland, Germany, two from Italy and we have so many that we are even rejecting because we cannot service them. “On the export angle, the experience was tough because it was tough learning on the job and by now, we have got all the certification that we need courtesy of Nigerian Export Promotion Council.” He said there was the need for the government to address some of the challenges facing the exports of the product to other countries. The Head, Public Relations, NEPC, Mr Joe Itah, said the agency would continue to promote non- oil exports owing to the challenges faced by oil in the international market. He said, “We have a responsibility of promoting non oil exports anchored on our cardinal point of market information and trade facilitation. “It is through the efforts of NEPC that people would be able to see the processes that our products go through to meet the standards. “We are also bringing synergy, and it is only in NEPC taking the lead in terms of showing them the standards to meet that we can boost non oil exports and increase inclusive growth by adding value to lives, create jobs and reduce the level of crime through youth restiveness.”

RomanceA Cheating Husband Wanted To Divorce His Wife. The Wife’s Response Will Amaze You by jocelyncherish(op): 3:29pm On Aug 27, 2015
Try and read this story to the end.
When I got home that night as my wife
served dinner, I held her hand and said,
I have got something to tell you. She sat
down and ate quietly. Again, I observed
the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn’t
know how to open my mouth. But I had
to let her know what I was thinking. I
want a divorce. I raised the topic
calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed
by my words, instead she asked me
softly, ‘Why?’ I avoided her question.
This made her angry. She threw away
the fork she was using and shouted at
me, ‘You are not a man !’
That night, we didn’t talk to each other.
She was weeping. I knew she wanted to
find out what had happened to our
marriage. But I could hardly give her a
satisfactory answer; she had lost my
heart to Ruth.
I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied
her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted
a divorce agreement, which stated that
she could own our house, our car, and 30
percent stake of my company. She
glanced at it and then tore it into pieces.
The woman who had spent ten years of
her life with me had become a stranger.
I felt sorry for her wasted time,
resources and energy but I could not take
back what I had said for I loved Ruth so
dearly.
Finally she cried loudly in front of me,
which was what I had expected to see. To
me her cry was actually a kind of
release. The idea of divorce, which I had
obsessed over for several weeks, seemed
to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late
and found her writing something at the
table. I didn’t have supper but went
straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast
because I was tired after an eventful day
with Ruth. When I woke up, she was still
there at the table writing. I just did not
care so I turned over and was asleep
again.
In the morning she presented her
divorce conditions: She didn’t want
anything from me, but needed a month’s
notice before the divorce.
She requested that in that one month we
both struggle to live as normal a life as
possible. Her reasons were simple: Our
son had his exams in a month’s time and
she didn’t want to disrupt him with our
broken marriage.
This was agreeable to me. But she had
something more, she asked me to recall
how I had carried her into out bridal
room on our wedding day. She requested
that every day for the month’s duration I
carry her out of our bedroom to the
front door ever morning.
I thought she was going crazy. Just to
make our last days together bearable I
accepted her odd request. I told Ruth
about my wife’s divorce conditions.
She laughed loudly and thought it was
absurd. No matter what tricks she
applies, she has to face the divorce, she
said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn’t had any body
contact since my divorce intention was
explicitly expressed. So when I carried
her out on the first day, we both
appeared clumsy.
Our son clapped behind us, ‘Daddy is
holding mommy in his arms.’
His words brought me a sense of pain.
From the bedroom to the sitting room,
then to the door, I walked over 30 feet
with her in my arms.
She closed her eyes and said softly;
‘Don’t tell our son about the divorce.’
I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put
her down outside the door. She went to
wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to
the office.
On the second day, we were more at
ease. She leaned on my chest. I could
smell the fragrance of her blouse. I
realized that I hadn’t looked at this
woman carefully for a long time. I
realized she was not young any more.
There were fine wrinkles on her face
and her hair was turning to gray!
Our marriage had taken its toll on her.
For a minute, I wondered what I had
done to her. On the fourth day, when I
lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy
returning. This was the woman who had
given ten years of her life to me. On the
fifth and sixth day, I realized that our
sense of intimacy was growing again.

CrimeTroops Flee As Boko Haram Retakes Borno Town by jocelyncherish(op): 1:15pm On Apr 25, 2015
Troops flee as Boko Haram retakes Borno town
APRIL 25, 2015 : AFP

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have forced
hundreds of soldiers to flee Marte, a border town
along the shores of Lake Chad, a local official and
witnesses said.
“The terrorists, numbering over 2,000, appeared
from various directions on Thursday and engaged
the soldiers in Kirenowa town and adjoining
communities in Marte,” said Imamu Habeeb, a
local community leader.
“They fought with soldiers over the night and the
fight continued today (Friday), forcing hundreds
of soldiers to flee,” he added from Borno State
capital, Maiduguri.
Local fighter Shehu Dan Baiwa said the more than
2,000 fighters had been armed with bombs and
tanks.
“They used the weapons without restraint and
succeeded in killing several people,” he said.
This is the third time Boko Haram has seized
control of Marte in restive Borno State, a key
battleground of their six-year insurgency, which
has killed more than 13,000 and left 1.5 million
persons homeless.
The city is among several retaken in recent weeks
by Nigeria’s military, which has launched an
offensive against the Islamists as part of a
regional operation supported by Chad, Cameroon
and Niger.
But Boko Haram have been fighting back, and
unconfirmed reports said the soldiers were forced
to retreat from Boko Haram’s Sambisa Forest
stronghold this week after a landmine blast killed
one soldier and three vigilantes.
A senior local politician confirmed, on condition of
anonymity, that the insurgents had retaken
Marte.
“We lost many (people) because some of our
people that fled to Chad and Cameroon have
returned after troops recovered the town recently,”
he added.
A senior military official confirmed the attack on
Marte, but refused to say whether Boko Haram
had retaken the town, describing the army’s
retreat as “strategic"

RomanceHow Can I Maintain Two Relationships? by jocelyncherish(op): 10:04am On Aug 01, 2014
Hello Nl'ders.

A friend of mine approached me with this question.
I couldn't advice her well... I will need ur wise contributions.

She has a boyfriend. He so over-bearing. They quarrel like lots of the time and also fight sometimes. But she just can't leave him cos he is kinda rich which by implication means the guy spends very well on her and show her care n love on days when they are not fighting or quarreling.

There is however another guy who is head over heels in love with her. The guy is so nice to the extend that when she quarrels with her boyfriend, it is this guy she runs to. she told me that the guy is so cool and not a girlfriend beater and that he recently asked her out. She also said the guy is not too rich and that he can't take care of her basic needs. She concluded by saying she wants to keep the two relationships.

The question now is, How can she do that?
is it possible to do that?
wat are the advantages and disadvantages?
