Let me say this. Sanchez football has improved since last season (maybe it is the peak of his career). But, if u compare his total career (even at his age) to that of hazard, hazard is beta.

The truth is that engineers can't do without a good knowledge of applied mathematics which is even the simpler part of mathematics . But when it comes to MATHEMATICS, guys that course is too broad....infact, it is the mother of all other applied and natural sciences . Talking about real and abstract maths, the likes of real analysis, complex analysis, algebra , topography , etc.....most if not all Engineering students can't cope with it because engineers only apply mathematical knowledge. During my NYSC, I served with a mathematics graduate and met a masters student of mathematics. Both of them opened my eye to the content of mathematics. Even some so called maths graduated are scared of some areas of maths like functional , real and complex analysis, algebra etc and will prefer to settle for modelling, ODE, Mechanics , etc. which are those areas we engineers deals with and think that that is all to maths. The only think I have against algebra and the likes is that they told me it just for aesthetics.....no real life application.....[/b]but any day anytime a good mathematics students should know mathematics more than a good engineering student[b]. Just that the impact of the engineers are more felt in the society.

young man....re-read yours post well...and read mine slowly......I can't claim to be better at engineering than an engineer just because I did fluid or soil mechanics as an elective course.....you need to be taught by your lecturers as you said.....we mathematicians are self-taught....we solve,learn,master and cram so many spaces,their properties,lemmas and theorems.....I bet in your whole life as engineering student,the only thing you crammed in mathematics is the almighty formula.....

U re still not getting it. U insinuated that engineers just can't comprehend d kind of maths u solve. I said yes but that's because they ve not bn taught. Same way mathematics students here are diing childs play. How many of una don do better research n bring una own series and theorems. Abi na crime to se Adebola series, Chukwudi theorem, Abdul series ,Etebong theorem.
Now u c d point. Sm1 can easily say u re doing nothing cos u only solve and deal on stuffs done by mathematicians of old. Get ur own series, theorems, proofs or never try compare urself to engineers who use these knowledge of science to better lives everyday.

as long we all made the cut-off mark for the course,I was right to say we were equally qualified. Every school has a maximum number of students to be admitted into a particular course. If the sch exceed such number,it will have NUC to contend with. Even our VC those days attested to the fact. He even apologised!!!

still not equally qualified. If the cut off mark is 60.would u say sm1 who scores 65 and sm1 who scores 79 are equally qualified? A big no. The best qualified get it n d others-despite scoring above d cut off - get other depts

who told u that? I read mathematics in Uniben although it wasn't what I applied for. Over 99percent of my course mates including me initially applied for medicine and surgery but because of a large number of equally qualified applicants,we were transferred to mathematics. It takes great amount of courage to request mathematics as first choice course of study.

My brother;large number of equally qualified? No no. Its actually this way.. ... .due to large number of applicants, the best qualified got it n d others(though brilliant as well) were transfered to other depts.

Thats not d point my brother so lets not delve into that. Its just like saying a 400lvl mathematics student who can't research n develop his own series or theorems. Now u see my point. How many mathematicians in hw schools even dream of doing such. They only solve what they are taught(early researches by other great mathematicians). So same way d best engineers design n have great ideas, d best mathematicians do d best research n come up with evergreen theorems. So stop acting like all students of mathematics turn out great n productive.

Am not doubting the fact that you can do those topics I mentioned but one thing I know is that most Engineering students can't do it and even when they attempt it its more of cramming.

Probably not referring to the brilliant Engineering students. Who crams laplace or fourier series? Likewise d average mathematics student will also cram to pass but not d very good ones.
Bottom line is that an intelligent maths or engineering student will both do well when thought same topics n areas in maths so stop acting like ur kind of maths is too tough for engineering students to comprehend .

Engineering students can never know maths than mathematics students because they only do few math courses...
They think its about those little Algebra,Vectors and Real Analysis.
They should come and do maths like Line integral, Differential equations, Laplace transform e.t.c they will confess that Jesus is lord.
Math no be beans, Am now doing statistics as my major I can't kill myself plus statistics has more job advantage than mathematics in a country like Nigeria.

This happened at Ejiyere street,off ojabugbe street,okumagba layout, warri.
It was supposed to be a happy Sunday for the residents of this building today, but it turned a black one as the building went up in flames.
Lots of properties got damaged as concerned neighbors rallied round to save the day before the arrival of the Delta state fire service.
Thank God everyone was safe in the end and my sincere condolence to the families affected by this ugly incident. It is well.
