kokaneprodigy: yes Barca has the best defence, I don't expect sense from you. Because Barca had a solid attack doesn't mean they don't have a solid defense.. They are even adding more to it in quality talent like Yeri Mina. This is barca stats for ter stegen. Tell me if barca defence was poor shouldn't he be making more saves? Why is he close to the bottom of the saves table and why is having the highest clean sheets in the league? I don't need to school you on different ways teams defend on and off the ball to know barca have a sturdy defense.

BushWickBill: Sir, you just dey realize say the press na collection of doofus monkeys? No one will see their kick and follow, long ball style of play the entirety of the second half.
You raised an interesting point here akin to the chicken and egg dilemma. In as much as the aim of any sport is to outscore your opponent(s), I think that having a sharp attack is not enough to win titles. You have to have an adequate balance of defense, midfield and attack. In fact for me a title winning side in any competition starts from the midfield.
Mohammed Salah will soon realize how useless liverfool is and ask for a transfer despite scoring so many goals because they only have a great attack. They have two cardboard cutouts as goalkeepers, a motley crew of tin foil defenders and largely rubbish and uncreative midfielders (Can,Henderson)
Leave the media and their romance with Liverpool. Nitwit pundits like Souness, Carragher and Redknapp with stupid bias for their old club can't be bold enough to call them out for their Disneyland defending but always have a plan of attack against United. They were not so critical of Jose till he became United boss. They used to hail his defensive approach as a masterclass till he got here. Now it is negative football No wonder the likes of Lampard, Ferdinand, Neville see things better. People who still remember what it takes to win something. Ever noticed the idiots in the press are formerly of teams who can't remember how it is to win anything anymore? From Souness to Redknapp to Keown.. None of them remembers when last their old teams won something great so they are all full of bitterness now. |

Liverpool resorted to the same football they call Mourinho negative for just to get a goal and it never came. The same Liverpool that Einsteins on TV said was the second best team in England when the Premier League table showed otherwise. Let them keep hyping teams that can attack endlessly and defend like beginners. Those teams never succeed or succeed but for a short time. That's why the most defensive small sides remain in the cups and premier league longer. Teams with the best defense win titles and maintain their dominance for years and that's why i am not worried about United. |

nezzar: It's a loss for them and a gain for us
The workload on him was too much and he was fed up. A big gain. To be a Mourinho player is to look at yourself and criticize yourself and strive to be better.. Not shifting the buck to another player. The man doesn't have time for softies who can't help themselves. Every time Lukaku talks of wanting to be better and we are seeing it with every match.. His link up is better than it has ever been. What about Shaw for all the Mourinho hanging out to dry, dude did not go about sulking and blaming Mourinho for his poor form. Is it Martial or Lingard who we are now calling Messi Lingard? All around the team there is an improvement to everybody's game. Even when we ended sixth, no one was looking for who to blame for the poor season. We got rid of Mikitaryan for this same mental fragility issues Arsenal Players have. It's only in Arsenal you hear things like Sanchez divided the dressing room, Sanchez caused our dip in form. Oya we are waiting as their form rises again,we will see were the new Sanchezless form takes them. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by joeace2020(m): 10:02am On Jan 27, 2018 |
nezzar: Most arsenal faithfuls said he was the reason behind their dip in form The rot at Arsenal is from top to bottom. They blame something or someone for their season not going as planned season after season. If it's not metasacker looking like a lost puppy in defense, it's calamity cech, if its not that, it's Ramsey, it's Wilshire who can't stay fit, if it's not that it's Wenger, if it's not Wenger its the board. Sanchez has been their most performing player season out of season, playing out of his skin and trying to drag a team of unmotivated players. The lad loved Arsenal and dragged them every match. Rather than look inwards to themselves and desire to be better, the ninnies turned on him and caused whatever dressing room problems they were having. Imagine that Egyptian Pvssy called Elneny taking shots.. I couldn't stop laughing. You'll see eventually how Arsenal's season will pan out then the question would be was it really Sanchez that caused their dip in form? And in reality what is Arsenal's top form? Top 4 every year, winning the FA cup which they got dumped from without Snachez or finishing second in a supposed one horse race for them and celebrating it. |

"And it looks like it is difficult for people to say ‘well done, you did it in a fantastic way’. He had one and a half feet in another club but they went there and they did it. It looks like it’s hard as well to give credit when we win matches; there is always an 'if' and when a player does fantastically well there is always a negative thing to say, but the reality is that we sell [newspapers] and without Manchester United the industry would be in trouble, so that’s also part of being in such a club."

He is the little teenager grinning behind a phone when he is able to annoy as much people. He trolls harder and harder when there's no attention and we should ignore no matter how far he goes. If the mods knew their jobs they'll ban him for 40,50 years and any new moniker he opens. Please let's all. ignore the annoying fly and focus on relevant posters. We've always had people like this from the very first United thread, they come and after a while fizzle out..this little noise maker will disappear eventually like hundreds way worse than him that came before.

If Van Dijk said he signed for Liverpool because they are the 2nd most successful team in british football history he will be right and still be mouthing off the sort of goobledygook you are trying to pass off as a robust and witty rejoinder.
United is a far bigger team than City but not recently. Since 2012/13 United have finished lower than the Citizens in every ensuing season and will likely do so again this term. The media was awash with Sanchez and Pep's reunion and even Wenger hinted at it.
City had no problem meeting Arsenal's 25-35M valuation of the player (where parent club comes in) but were not going to upset their wage structure (where agent and player come in not parent club ) like United did to lure the player.
Even after United "showed him the money" he went to ask City if they would match it and City said NO. A renowned Arsenal fan even came here to post that the player may be unmotivated because he is not going to his first-choice club.
This is not an affront on the player or United: Conte said United signing him showed that even Chelsea cannot compete financially again (or as before). In other words, if he could get the board to offer Alexis the same money United did, perhaps, he too may have convinced the player to come over. The keyword here being MONEY just in case it passed you by. Lol.. all the grammar to show you are super intelligent.. Yet not one atom of sense was displayed. Imagine saying United is a far bigger team than City but not recently. There's a difference between bigger and better. Better, i would agree but Bigger? Eruditor: I thought writing epistles was exclusively my thing?
Everyone who spends huge sums is not necessarily trying to win the league. Smaller clubs or big waning clubs need huge investment to compete. It is has been a fact since time immemorial. Enter Liverpool, Everton and AC Milan to the mix.
When the City Sheikh project began, it was not realistic to win the league in a flash: other teams with more history and pedigree (like United, Arsenal and Chelsea) were still in the mix and competing for the facilities needed i.e best players, so Sheikh had to dangle $$$ to lure such players. Enter Robinho and co.
At that point in time, the only reason a Robinho would have left RM to City over Chelsea was the MONEY. City had no lofty "ambitions". Everyone in world football knew this (except a few asinine dingbats). City finished 10th (Hughes) season Robinho signed, 5th, 3rd and 1st (Mancini, who should have been fired after finishing 5th if title-winning was their ambition, right?)
Sheikh, shook money infront of players who would have gone elsewhere and they came to City instead. Parent clubs got handsome recompense - all was right with the world. Subsequently - and almost inevitably - success came, and we have City of today.
Today, City do not believe they must overcompensate players to get them (they believe players will buy into the direction the team is heading to - some others want to play for the manager). For e.g, Gabriel was courted by your club, Barca and Real but he chose City for only 27M GBP (same money others tendered). His reason is online.
United used to be the team that got english, sometimes world talents because they knew they would win titles, play for perhaps the greatest british manager and earn well but you knew players were not coming as. . . mercenaries.
You are a United fan and this is probably going to rub you the wrong way, but that is not the case anymore. United dangled money at Pogba and his agent (to snatch him from Madrid), Lukaku (from Chelsea) and now Alexis from City - the evidence is online for all and sundry to read.
That is the exact claim I made for Alexis that generated all these hoopla and with it, the carcasses of used-to-be loud mouths now laying dead with tails between their legs.
I did not insult Alexis (I think he is a top 3/4 talent in the league), or United for getting him. I simply stated exactly what transpired: If United and City matched offers, Alexis would not have come to United. The proof is in the pudding. United gave a humongous offer and he went back to City to ask them to match it and City said no (no longer desperados like '08) and pulled out of signing him. Writing epistles was exclusively your thing? Do you actually listen to yourself or you just enjoy being a know-it-all narcissist? Well there's obviously no need with back and forths with opening statements like that. It's people like you who would say you thought commenting on a public forum is exclusively your thing.. Afterall, how dare other humans interact with you and question your most revered intellect? Have it as you've said. City was spending sums buying players because they only appeal they had was money, united is now the new City. Their history of winning trophies is a bloody mirage and being a fly in the wall during contract negotiations, you have exclusive info on what motivated the players united bought for huge sums. I am sure you were also there when Ronaldo and Bale moved to Madrid for huge sums. What saddens me in all of this is the lack of obvious awareness that players don't price themselves but their parent clubs do but then again.. Let's not talk about. You are privy to all first-hand football information. We will all grovel at your feet as you dish them out from your throne of intelligence. |
