raumdeuter: You wrote several lines without making sense. Its when people lack the logi and just swallow the bumkum spewed by the likes of Neville. That makes it ridiculous
These are the pertinent questions
1. When did the first team travel on Friday to Burnley to get to Burnley settle down and train for the midday game on Saturday
2. When did the reserve team finish their game
3. How realistic was it to get a player after the youth game on Friday to join the senior traveling squad the same Friday? When the first team has probably travelled to Burnley before the youth game ended
4. To achieve what exactly?
This is how logical people arrange their thought process not just gobbling everything the media throws at you Yea Dayo is more reasonable than any media outlet. The bastion of Knowledge won't tell us why City has such a small squad after squandering almost have a billion pounds in 2 seasons. He won't tell us why City first team and second team set up have no communication whatsoever in looking to promote a youngster for the senior game days prior so as to avoid all the conundrum this is generating. Do they not parade themselves as having the best Academy in the land. What does this say of that Academy. I sure as hell ain't taking my kids there. Okay so i agree with you it would be difficult to draft in a player who played a game same day but what of days before that? Didn't Guardiola know his squad was depleted before the Burnley match? why didn't he invite an extra kid or two to train with the first team like Mourinho did with about 4 kids before the yeovil game? All clubs do this, so why can't Guardiola do this? |

Not enough players means what, how many players are in the injury room Ogbeni make i hear...When United's squad was beaten black and blue with injuries under Van Gaal, we turned to kids. LVG gave debuts to so many kids because of injuries, By May of last year under Mourinho, United had 7 first team players on hospital bed with four displaying crutches like a crippled peoples home in the Europa league final but the bench was always complete.. but Pep has so many injuries no one can be called up from the best Academy in the land because "they don't have players". It was his way of protesting to the league the kinda tackles his team got in the last 6-8weeks Wow! Another one. This one reads Guardiola's mind. So in protest of players being brutalized (because he's the first manager to have his team targeted) he decides to name 6 players on the bench as a protest. Maybe refrees will be more meaner when they see poor Pep has lost almost half the team he assembled with half a billion pounds. Poor old Pep.

sinizia: I've never seen a slave to another human like that guy. I never knew supporting or liking another human will lead to hypocrisy on a whole new inexplicable level, till I read the posts of that guy. It's shocking. How can one drop common sense about football knowledge coz of a fellow human? I pray Pep is paying him for this kind of disgraceful thinking and defense, If not, then it's a damn shame.
Maybe, I'd become a total idiot just to win a dumb argument by insinuating it's because Roma wanted to sign Mahrez that made Man City willing to shell out 60m which they deemed is his true worth, to buy him. Maybe because Madrid, Arsenal and PSG were interested in Mbappe that's why Man City would have spent over 100m to bring Mbappe if he had chosen City.
The same dumb analogy can be said about City who knew about Barca and Madrid interest in Jesus and still went for him.
The same dumb analogy can be said about City who knew about Bayern and PSG interest in Sanchez and yet were ready to move mountains to get him.
Same as Robinho, Berbatov (City tried to hijack a deal that Fergie had been been fighting all summer to seal) and the rest. It shows how backward, worshipping a human can lead to that once a club is interested in any player, every other clubs should back off because his idol, Pep is the alpha & omega of football. Every knee must bow down in obeisance whenever he indicates interest in any player. Pep can go for players other clubs are interested in, but if Pep is interested in a player, any club that gets him is fighting a god and very desperate.
If there's one thing I've learned in this whole IQ-reducing debate from him, it's that hypocrisy leads to incurable amnesia. If not tell me why a Barca fan whose club's desperation and hijacking of deal led to one of the most disgusting and shocking football malpractice of all time. He won't remember of the Neymar deal because of his hypocrisy. Neymar deal was hijacked by Barca, who knew Neymar had already had medical with Madrid as a 14-year-old. Neymar even PASSED a Madrid medical prior to signing for Barca, but Barca went behind to pump more money to Neymar and his father to hijack a deal Madrid was interested in from the beginning. The greatest desperation and hijacking of all time.
A deal so shady, nobody truly knows how much Neymar was paid except for the dumb figures they churned out to deceive the gullibles. A deal so shrouded in betrayal, secrecy with every element of fraud oozing from it, that Barcelona were taken to court, their president then shamefully dismissed/resigned and Santos wailed bitterly at how despicable Barca went about the whole deal to deny them of their fair cut in the transfer.
Yet, a Barcelona fan with a full grown iroko tree in his eyes will try to remove a branch from mine. Sanchez earns 500k a week, a figure nobody is sure of, a figure that other sites have reported as 350k a week, a figure that includes both image rights and other clauses, but ask him to bring out that of KDB's, he'll give you the basic 290k a week KDB earns while hypocritically leaving out the rest for his devilish reasons. Ask him how the sites were right in their assessment of Sanchez's salary to 600k a week, he'll start telling you about "dindinrin reasoning" and calculating mathematics nobody sent him to do, while still not being able to tell you how much KDB earns as image right, his signing-on fees, that of his agent, and other juicy bonuses/clauses in his contract.
This is a butthurt Pep stan who can't stomach the painment of losing Sanchez that he's clearly ignored the fact that Messi earned an unbelievable £80m just to sign a contract which is not included in basic salary or image rights or other bonuses. A deal if the total value over the duration of his contract is calculated well, will bring down Seun's servers. Yet he'll have the gall to come on here and spew his usual hypocritical claptrap. A Barca fan lecturing us on desperation after committing the worst crime in football during Neymar deal? I've seen it all. School those upbarca Mofugs who can't stop sniffing Pep's arse.. Imagine questioning another club's acquisition of an established European quality player when the dodgy deal for a prodigy only some few years back is well and truly documented. Last last Neymar go end up for Madrid. The same people they paid heaven and earth to snatch him from. Let's not even go to the remaining parts of the post. We know the team that spent over 250 million on two players (We haven't brought in the agent fees, wages, image rights and all and knowing barca fully well some stupid money must have exchanged hands) while their son at city is spending that on defense alone. All peas in a pod. |

Eruditor: THE IRONY. Why am I just seeing this now?
I am responsible for my post not your understanding of it. In any case (and since it was lost on you) the joke there was that united would've become interested and even paid over the price if City had bid for the player.
Objection. Relevance: I never cared for City until Pep signed.
I remember saying "it is allowed" in my best MI Abaga impression. Your sister (whom I was conversing with saw it). Redundant ^^^.
LOL. My post is in Antartica and yours is in Kaffeklubben Island. If City wanted Messi for half of Sheikh Mansour's worth, it is not the point. The act of desperation will be the Glazers selling everything they own (after both teams have agreed terms) to now offer Barca say 500M above that. Stick to the narrative please. If your conjecture about City and VVD was true, City only needed to offer Southampton 90M and the selling club would have put a stop the Liverpool sale. Ed Woodward knows what I'm talmbout.
The conjecture per word ratio of this paragraph is a world record. But let me go along with it for personal amusement: Sanchez had a year left and the selling club set a value that City accepted. Imagine, say PSG coming now to offer AFC 90M to get the player. That will be the despacito desperado.
The emboldened is the only thing I agree with. I see how you are trying to justify your club's spending at the same time. Smart. Only problem is, City already said they were not going to pay anyone above KDB. Which put paid to the would've(s) you wrote above.

Pheww. Finally.

JK Rowling will be proud. But..but 500-600k per week for a player with 6 months left is the nadir of desperation.
You sure do know how to sneak these in.
But..but..you said they were in United's position beginning of the season when Wenger even asked for Raheem. I see how Pep gave him a younger player with 3 years left on his contract for an older one with 6 months left for 2.5 times the wages. I see it.
Ditto what I said earlier. But just incase: Selling club sets price. Buyers agree or not. Desperados come in after and offer 20M more than the seller even asked for. It is the game so it is allowed but it smacks of desperation.
City paid the player's buyout clause. Period. Gary Neville, a United legend, (albeit I know your manager has been deriding a few of them lately like he would soon do SAF and you would come here to rationalise it). But yea, he asked United to hijack it. What he meant was offer ATB 90M and the player *coughs* "a little bit more" *coughs* than City to get him. A spade is a spade, not a farming tool. It is desperation, call it by its real name. Wow! This is the strangest thing i will see on a forum ever? what's with the italics and coughs, that despacito and whatever? Geez!! it's a forum not a book writing contest |

raumdeuter: See the complete lack of logic by you and Gary Neville. This is why I encourage people to use their sense or keep quiet
Man City senior team played a midday game today vs Burnley Saturday. That means they would have travelled to Burnley on Friday
Less than 20hrs earlier, Man City youth team played a game vs Swansea on Friday at 2PM to like 4PM
So tell me how a player was supposed to play for the reserves, complete the game, rest and join the senior team on their trip to Burnley for their midday game Saturday
And all these stress on a youth tem player to achieve what exactly?
City had 6 players on their bench, the max sub they can use is 3. So tell me what point it makes to take a player who finished a game at 4PM on a trip to Burnley to sit on the bench I knew you wouldn't resist an argument. Dayo i am not ready for your amalanomics. If it was someone else i would engage but with your reputation for looking for the easiest way out i can't burn few hours from the years God gave me on earth on back and forths with you. There are 20 premier league teams and whether rain or sunshine, whether the senior or youth team play a game a day after the other, they ALWAYS field 7 players on the bench. Always! But Pep gets a pass because as big as City under 23 is, all of the 16 players for the city EDS must have played a day before. I am sure Wilson, Anderson and Woods would have told Pep they don't think they could step up having sat through an under 23 game hours before and having their next game on the 16th. Keep at your amala turning. You are becoming a professional at it. Your baba cannot give one of these youngsters to be with the first team for a game, get the dressing room experience and interact with first teamers instead claim City don't have enough players but here you are saying what point does it make to take a player who finished a game at 4pm on a trip to Burnley to sit on the bench? From the EDS bench to the senior team bench in a premier league match. That's one hell of an upgrade for any young player even if just to go and watch. He loves youth players but looked through all of City and found none to complete a youthful looking bench instead goes bleating no players. No one would have even said anything were it not for the shameful no player statements after. Burnley has 8 players out injured, still names a complete bench, Spendiola has 7 out and says all the players he has left are injured, he should have thrown more money at Mahrez to complete the bench...keep deceiving yourself. |

I am only saying we shouldn't begin to praise him cos he might feel he is playing at a top level and might just stagnate like others before him English players). He needs to be a tad daring with his passes, you saw how a pass from Pogba led to our second goal, we need him to attempt such passes. He still needs to improve on long range passing generally but i was impressed by his attacking mentality once he gets the ball. Unlike Herrera who'll be looking for an easy sideways pass, Mctominay only resorted to that when a forward pass would be too risky but he attempted many forward passes and i loved seeing that from a United midfielder. I'll try and find his forward pass stats. |

hinohsend: I think it's hilarious you're comparing Lingard and Rashford to Zichenko and co, plus in very sure Zichenko has gotten more minutes than Mctominay in all competitions this season.
Pep in the past promoted guys like Busquet, Pedro, Thiago and a couple of players who didn't achieve plenty success, he also improved and played frequently prospects like Coman and Kimmich while in Germany. He promoted 22 players to the first team while he was at Barca so I understand where the youth developer tag came from.
I agree he was wrong for naming 6 players and deserves some stick, it's just odd seeing Man U fans act like City are one big club bullying and buying everyone while United are some kind of Alaves. Nobody is claiming the holy ground here. The negative perception of Mourinho with youth players and the reverse for Pep should be toned down as it is becoming obvious both love to spend and spend but Mourinho is struggling and trying to improve, pep is flying and a youth player couldn't even complete the bench today instead complains he doesn't have enough players. |

After all the millions sunk into the academy not one product was good enough to complete the bench today instead spendiola is quick to send a message to the board that since they have excess millions to spend like water then they must open the chequebook without fail whenever he needs it. If any idiot comes to defend him for this, you will have to explain to me why Pep cannot give one extra youth player the only chance he may get in his footballing career to experience first team football while Mourinho gives McTominay 90 minutes football today and Rashford has appeared in every united game bar vs Tottenham this season. You will explain wht Mourinho is the chequebook one who never develops talent and Pep has taken Sane and Sterling who are have already been experiencing top level football for years to another level.
