exactly, very useless manager,we should try to get pochettino who's an attacking player who would turn rashford to erikssen, would dramaticlly improve lukaku ball control to that of berbatov...after all he wasn't afraid to play against city...

or better still we buy arsene Wenger since he's perfect for managing funds and plays very entertaining football...or y don't we get klopp who his attack is so sharp that even when his team is leadin by 5 goals, there's still hope for a comeback...

mourinho must go..he's too defensive abeg..how can he not attack with Herrera blind darmian rashford et al

Am struggling to get your point o, so Mourinho did not have the chance to buy his type of players right? Something is definitely wrong in here, I don't get it! Someone spent over 300m buying and the excuse now is he didn't have chance to get his targets.

Wow!
I am not making excuses for him.. He's bought a lot and should deliver and in all honesty 2 trophies first year, 2nd in December this year, through to next round in UCL is delivering but we could do more. I am saying we have overspent on dross from moyes down. Miki in Mourinho's current squad is showing to be one. Lukaku is heading that way. Bailly now is becoming a crock. Maybe just maybe this were not the number 1 names on Mourinho's list. That Lukaku transfer somehow tells me so. It was too sudden. We might have gotten the number 1 names for the same or a little above the price of these if our transfer panel was up to scratch.

Mou only complained about not getting Perisic and for me, that's not enough for us not to be close to City...Darmian, Blind, Herrera and all the other average players are still here because the manager wants them...When Pep released Sagna, Clichy, Kolarov and Zabaleta, he hadn't gotten their replacements (A big mistake) thus it affected the price clubs quoted for players they were after. Mou should work with Ed to release or sanction their sales if he thinks they aren't good enough...
Thank God you brought this up. How would Mourinho release players when he's been given a limited budget in an inflated market and he can only fix a few areas of the pitch with it. A manager cannot let go of players if he won't be getting replacements. Mourinho is probably showing this frustration because obviously Ed isn't working along his agenda. You can't sell out up to 6 players for small sums for that matter amd expect to get in 3 or 4 and challenge for a season. Look at City's bench. Good enough to walk into our first team. Is it Gundogan or Bernado Silva or Aguero at times that won't make this our avergage team?

Nobody is blaming City and Pep because they are achieving.. its because people make it look like Pep just came and city became an instant hit. Dude had to buy and it's paying off so why is Mourinho asking to buy to get to his target now a crime?

Please tell me what is a lie? That Martial wasn't a first team player?
Someone opined (he wasn't sure) Martial only played the playoffs and I only informed him that Martial was part of the team that reached the Quarter finals losing to Juventus, also pointing out that he was highly rated and that was why we accepted the inclusion of all those Balon d'or clauses in his contract...Please disprove the points highlighted and stop being overly aggressive...
I am not being overly aggressive. It's just sad that you want to make a case for Martial over Mbappe when the evidence points to the fact Martial was infact an unknown buy to Many United fans as well as the English press. In fact, Martial was so unknown and underrated a song was made for him.. Incase you need the lyrics. Here it is

Tony Martial came from France,

English press said he had no chance,

50 million down the drain,

As Tony martial scores again!

Na Na Na…

You can argue this if you want but Martial was money spent on an unknown signing. That you even use him playing first team in a squad that got to the quaters of the UCL says all about how you rate players. As for the Balon d'or clause, no dispute the club valued his talent enough to include that but would you compare his value and popularity in france to what Mpabbe was? Why people questioned Martial's talent, no one questioned Mbappe because it was clear to see this was a true, consistent talent. Why do i even think all those clauses were Monaco's way of stripping us of every cash they could get knowing we were more money than sense under LVG

I did not call for the sack of mourinho, people here won't let us to rest after every draw or loss or a one goal difference win or after a win in which Chelsea, Liverpool or even city scored more goals against some opponents than us. The last time Liverpool beat Brighton 4-1 somebody here said "is this not the same Brighton that we beat only 1-0"? So to satisfy the
United "pep fan boys" who see mourinho as a lucifer and destroyer of talents, who dared to ask Mkhi to track back and who has destroyed united by lifting them from Europa league also-rans to winners and then to UCL contenders in 18 months, the board need to sack mourinho and bring a sexy manager who will turn Damian, Blind, Herrera and co to Messi, the noise these few days has been so loud.
My suggestion is, is it not better we stopped buying quality players and bring a manager who by playing tiki taka and producing entertaining draws will turn Mata to a spanish national team captain and Herrera to be named for world cup or for Darmian and blind to qualify their countries to would cup. My brother Sacking Mourinho is an urgent thing that needs to happen, we fans are tired if his pack the bus football versus Burnley, and being 14 points behind city that has garnered 58 out of 60 points and for losing to city who have not beaten us at old Trafford since 1913.

#MourinhoOut. If you argue this point Mourinho is your god.
You still didn't answer me. I hate Mourinho's football philosophy with a passion. I prefer to force a reaction than wait for one. But my question is considering where we were and were we are now in European football, who is the prime replacement candidate for sacking Mourinho? I need names.

Like i said sometime ago, why not only buy only supremely talented players and groom battle ready home grown talents henceforth, average players like Blind, Herrera and Damian are killing us. Then too old players like Ibrahimovic and Carrick should retire na, for the love of God.
This i guess was the idea in the first season. With Ibrahimovic, miki, bailly we achieved some stability. Now second season we were to add real talented players and keep the blinds, Herrera as squad options which we seem to have done but not done properly. We needed to sell out at least 4 players from our current squad that looks bloated on paper and get up to 5 players in.. at least 3 of which are real world class talent. We are united, we should act and appear on the pitch as it. I know Mourinho has not done enough on his part but the board also hasn't done enough too. He wouldn't use the press to communicate to the board if something wasn't wrong in the background.

Whose fault that we invested in average players? The coaches ask for players and the club set about purchasing them...Mourinho in his time here has gotten just about all the players he asked for bar Perisic according to available information so what exactly is the fuss about lack of investment? He got Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Bailly, Lukaku, Lindelof, Matic, Ibra (On a free but very high wages)...Pray tell, how many coaches are opportuned to get all of such quality in barely 3 windows? That's more than 300m worth of talent and you want us to sit back and go with his narrative that it's because we're not spending enough? Or just so we're not tagged naive or Mou haters? Hell no, we have spent hugely and that's not taking into context the huge outlay on transfer during the Van Gaal and Moyes Era...
And to correct an impression, I think all top coaches spend heavily thus I'm not one of those who refer to Mou as a cheque book manager but in this instances after spending over 300m on players, your least excuse should be investment related...
The only thing City has over us is a better bench (And you can quite comfortably argue for or against this) and a coach who is more expressive in his approach.
Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist. Its one thing to spend and another to spend on your set targets. I may not have seen Mourinho's list but i can tell you listening to him say things like "There's a different price for big clubs, big clubs based on their history and there's a different price for other clubs" it was obvious the Man is growing frustrated with the fact he probably didn't get the actual players he set out for in the market. If United had gone for Mendy or Walker or Jesus, Sane, i am sure they would have cost us nothing less than 50 mil each for defenders and more than 80 for attackers. City can pay those or even less because they don't have our history but we have to realize this is the realities of the market so we pay what we have to pay for the best players the manager wants. We Penny pinch and end up paying the amount we could have bought those guys for actual average players. Rival fans can call us any name they want but if we were top of the league with City's point gap todayand have spent a true fortune on quality players to get there then i honestly don't care. But trying to be frugal because of Moyes and LVG and keeping to 3-4 players per window with a budget not above £150 per window, we can only get what we have now. Few mid-quality players bought by Mourinho and not enough to replace or upgrade if they don't deliver

This is not in defense of Mourinho but in finding out what truly the Mourinho out brigade want for the team.

Martial was a first team player for Monaco when they destroyed Arsenal and unluckily lost out to Juventus he was already well known and highly rated...If Martial had remained in Monaco for another season, he'd have been quite easily a 100m player...
Now this is one is a lie. Can you in all honesty compare Martial and Mbappe's breakthrough season? Can you? This is a player that was linked to all the top clubs in the world almost every week for months and now you want to compare with Martial who everyone was questioning the transfer and the sum involved for a relatively unknown player. What is it I'm reading here, what exactly is lack of investment after spending so much over the past couple of seasons or do you not know that investment should go hand in hand with on and off the pitch improvement? Granted we're doing very well off the pitch but on the pitch, the quality of our football is poor and we've not posed the trophies that should match our huge outlays on transfers...Must it be PSG-level investment for us to accept we have been spending heavily on transfers?
One begins to wonder what would have been the case if we had Mou in the dugout in those years where the Glazers were tight fisted, I am talking about the years when fans got disillusioned and started a protest...Fergie managed to keep us winning and challenging for titles with little investment but look what we have now, a coach still complaining after spending so much on players... This investment line is just about the most ridiculous excuse for our underperformance yet...
Has Arsenal, Liverpool not invested in their squad over several years.. tell me what that has gotten them. In fact the Arsenal case is quite obvious and is exactly what investing quality players over squad players can do for you. Was it not when Ozil and Sanchez came in they started winning something again. Saying investment line is ridiculous is naivety of the highest order. We've bought too many average joes since Ferguson. Only with Mourinho have we been getting some players with signs of quality in them. What you are failing to get from my argument because of your Mourinho hatred is that we have spent well but spent on average players. You can only motivate average players the best as you can, they'll still be average. Whether you agree or not, the manager deals with the players everyday and from experience can tell he doesn't have a good enough squad. He has cried out now and the board better listens. Y'all can keep calling him chequebook and whatever narratives makes you exonerate our average squad and put all the blame on Mourinho.

Lemme quickly do. I am amazed you'd even compare Fergies time to now when Liverpool can pay up to 75 mil for a defender. Are you really serious? United and Arsenal were the only teams digging it out for years. We bought players for record sums all through that time, mixing it with talent and youth. The competition among teams wasn't as fierce. The need to outspend Rivals for top quality talent wasn't there. We invested more in our youth team because at the time we could have afford to see young players we bought cheap or came through the academy fail and keep trying. Do you think anyone will have the patience we had with Rashford if he keeps running endlessly as he is doing today or Martial who cuts this frustrated figure when he is responsible for his own mess everytime. Do you think we have the time to waste when City, Chelsea and now Liverpool are going all out for talents out there? Are you so distant from the realities of present day football? Wake up man. This is 2017. If fergie was here, bro he'd spend that money but being a man who saw the future like he always has, he knew it'll tarnish his reputation for bringing through youth if he stayed further and began to rely exclusively on chequebook. Football was going rotten and fergie wasn't gonna be a part of it.

I may not like Mourinho's football too much but this quote from redcafe couldn't be farther from the truth.

You can only sell players if you have been promised competent replacements. Who just sells without a hope of new recruits? Jose can only sell when he gets money to buy.

Does it look like our board is even serious about taking this club to the next level? You will put United in the top 3 clubs in Europe considering their history, tradition, etc.

Now let’s do the math....

Real Madrid have Ramos, Bale, Ronaldo, Kroos, Modric, Marcelo

Barcelona have Messi, Pique, Suárez, Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta

Bayern have Robben, Lewandowski, Neuer, Boateng, Hummels, Vidal, David Alaba, Thiago.

Juventus have Buffon, Chiellini, Higuain, Dybala, Sandro, Bazargli

PSG have Dani Alves, Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe, Verratti, Thiago Silva

United have only De Gea & Pogba. Is this what you call investment? We are really expected to compete with this lot with only 2 recognised world class players? In terms of player investment, we are the worst “big team” in Europe.
There's just a lack of investment in our team and as much as i hate Mourinho's football, i have to say he's tried so well to bring the best out of a truly average squad. While Pep and City have the funds to even correct transfer Pep's gaffes, we are still shoehorning Mata into the right wing because we don't have solid options. Against Leicester city and Burnley, our imbalance was clear as daylight as we kept using the left. Ibrahimovic for all his previous success is now only half what he was. He's now too old and that injury may have probably ended his career for us. We need quality players in this team, not just because we aim to win the league, but because we need to stand toe to toe with some of the biggest sides in football. Let's not kid ourselves, if we were to face Madrid, Barca or Bayern today, we might receive a football lesson. We will only come out victorious because anything can happen with the underdog but it's a shame we should be underdogs almost all the time. Mourinho wanted 4 players in the summer (a number i suspect the club pegged for transfers) yet he got 3..We made a mess of the Morata deal which is disgraceful to us, we massively overpaid for Lukaku in a Rooney swap that should have cost us even less than 60 mil. Only Matic deal looked to be without any issue. The perisic one was even more disgraceful. Haggling over prices city would pay without batting an eyelid. The guy was already showing signs of wanting to leave. The club preseason photo said all about that, but we were still toying around with paltry sums that a supposed big club should play. Let's not even talk of what Woodward was doing in the US while clubs were making moves for their players. We've been a mess for some time transfer wise starting from the Moyes time. It's time we got our acts together and invest in this team... Walker and Mendy are players for their positions. Valencia and Young aren't, Martial and Rashford are inconsistent kids. Maybe City is doing it with kids but we shouldn't yet. We may have won one or two tinpot trophies last season but even then towards the end of the season, the lack of true talent was obvious. Our rebuilding job has been slow and our transfer policy to rectify deficiencies has been erratic. We have to as a matter of urgency take Mourinho's complaints seriously. All this stupid arguments for kids and stars will do us no good. We have seen how poor we were with kids under LVG, how Assnal have been with them now we are seeing what we can achieve with a more matured squad. We need more world class players to play with the inconsistent kids we currently have. I feel Mourinho's football will improve with quality players in the squad. He'd probably be more confident sending out attacking players to attack instead of sending out the Rashford types who runs like a headless chicken or Martial types who keep loosing balls to the opposition and causing needless counters. I'd be more confident seeing players like Insigne, Douglas Costa, Dybala, Greizmann, Bale despite his injuries or James Rodriguez in my attack than the current crop of inexperienced dross we have.

I just noticed that every match we lost this season apart from the UEFA super cup against Madrid, Pogba was not on the pitch. Even the Basel match where we dominated and conceded in the 90th minute Pogba was substituted like 20 minutes before then. Since mourihno took over we had been woeful away from home to top 6 teams. That trend was supposed to continue at Arsenal but there was a difference Pogba was playing. Yes we were dominated even more than the city game but we had a player who deliver good balls to our forwards. Not saying Pogba is god or anything cos even sometimes his performance is below par,but he's certainly our most important player this season. I am very certain that if he started against City being that we were at home, that match would have ended differently.
I have been telling some racist socalled united fans this recently. Stats don't lie. Pogba is undoubtedly our most important player and possibly the most all round Midfielder to ever play the game. Anytime he's off the team, the midfield just collapses. We start resorting to long balls to no one because the midfielders can't hold the ball under pressure so they send it back to the defenders.. who have mastered the art of lobbing balls to nobody. Only pogba is able to use his physicality and technique at the same time to create space for others and send the balls to them. There is a reason we are forcing the Captain arm band on him because in a few years the Carrick's, Valencia's and co will be history.. Only Pogba of the current class of stars measures with them and possibly above based on what we know he can deliver.
