N’Delta Group Shut Agip’s Facilities
Two oilfields run by Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited, a unit of Italian oil major, Eni, were shut down this week in the Niger Delta region by local communities over disputes with the company, protesters said on Wednesday.
Oil production in the Niger-Delta has often been disrupted by locals frustrated at the lack of development in their communities.
A spokesman for Eni was quoted by Reuters as saying the company had no immediate comment.
One group represented by the Agrisaba Oil and Gas Committee said it had shut down an oil facility in the Nembe 5 region following disputes over the provision of jobs for locals.
“The community has, therefore, decided that the facility be shut down until such a time that all these knotty issues have been resolved,” it said in a statement.

Libel: Court Adjourns Tinubu’s Suit Against AIT Till June 30
Justice Iyabo Akinkugbe of an Ikeja High Court yesterday adjourned hearing in the libel suit instituted by former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State against DAAR Communication Plc to June 30 to enable the counsel to the plaintiff respond to the counter-claim filed by the defendant.
Tinubu had dragged Daar Communication, owners of African Independent Television, AIT to court claiming N150 billion damages for allegedly peddling false accusations about his personality in the documentary titled “Lion of Bourdilion”. He claimed that the documentary was politically sponsored to tarnish his reputation in the eyes of the populace.
At yesterday’s proceedings, counsel to DAAR, Jeffery Kadiri, informed the court that the defendant had filed a counter-claim which had been served on the claimant.
Responding, Tinubu’s counsel, Mr. Ayodele Adesanmi, said the process was served on the claimant only two days ago, adding that he needed some time to study and respond to it.
Adesanmi, therefore, asked the court for an adjournment and the judge acceded to his request.
In the counter-claim, the broadcast outfit also denied each and every allegation of facts as contained in the claimant’s amended statement of claim.

Sources said the lightening broke down the wall of the house, and that the remains of the victims have been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

11 Die In Illorin Auto Crash
No fewer than 11 persons were confirmed dead yesterday when a Toyota Hiace bus collided with a trailer in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The head-on collision occurred at the point adjoining the farm of the late
General Abdulkareem Adisa at Oko Olowo.
Eleven people were
confirmed dead inside the bus with registration number
GA 52 XA, while eight others were seriously injured. The trailer
was marked XA 939 GZA.
The single lane Ilorin/Mokwa Road is one of the busiest roads in
the country as it remains the shortest link between the North and the South-West. The administration of former president, Olusegun
Obasanjo, had reduced travellers’ burden on the road by partially dualising the Ilorin/Ibadan end
of it.
The road is plied daily by heavily loaded trailers and commercial
buses on trade missions. The road has countless
winding points, which make over taking dangerous.
Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in
Kwara State, Mary Wakawa, said the crash occurred at about 2a.m.

UN Decries Boko Haram Insurgents’ Sexual Abuse Of Captives
United Nations (UN) Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Ms Zainab Bangura, yesterday decried reported rape and forced marriages of female captives of Boko Haram insurgents.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bangura lamented in a statement signed by her Office’s Advocacy and Women’s Rights Specialist, Ms Letitia Anderson, that one-year after the Chibok girls’ abduction many were still in captivity.
“Over a year since the extremist group, Boko Haram, abducted 276 teenage girls in Chibok, Borno State in Nigeria, many still remain in captivity.
“I am appalled by reports that hundreds of the recently released female captives were repeatedly raped by Boko Haram militias and compelled to ‘marry’ their captors.
“These latest revelations suggest that Boko Haram is not only destroying existing family and community structures but is bent on controlling their future composition.
“In order to give rise to a new generation raised in their own image, they are waging war on women’s physical, sexual and reproductive autonomy and rights,’’ Bangura stated.

Jonathan is expected to hand over state affairs to incoming President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on May 29 at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Fuel Scarcity Affects Academic Activities At Unilorin
The ever busy campus of the University of Ilorin which was usually beehive of academic activities has lately recorded low turnout of students to lectures due to the prevailing fuel scarcity.
Even as the institution begins its end of session examinations this month, most lecture rooms do not attract the usual large number of students owing to the hike in transportation cost and the low turnout of the campus shuttles to convey the students to the university. At the university bus terminus, a commercial driver who identified himself as Sanni, described the situation as “man’s inhumanity to fellow man”, saying most petroleum stations in Ilorin started hoarding the product even before the scarcity became a national issue.
“I spent over N5,000 to purchase 30 litres of fuel. The queue was so long that I had to pay my way to get the fuel early enough,” he said. Another driver at the university’s motor park who does not want his name in print described the situation as ‘battle of the fittest where only the strong comes out victorious’.

Support Northern Christian As Speaker, Cleric Tells Buhari
A Borno State-born pastor, Kallamu Musa Ali-Dikwa, has advised President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to support the emergence of a Northern Christian as next Speaker of the House of Representatives, for fairness and equity.
Pastor Dikwa, who had revealed that outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan had bribed officials of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, with billions of naira in the build-up to the presidential elections for support, said it would be in the interest of the incoming administration to have somebody from the North East head the House of Representatives.
Dikwa reminded the President-elect that some of them were called names and even persecuted for canvassing votes for him.
Dikwa, who was detained by State Security Services, SSS, to back down on his statement against President Goodluck Jonathan’s alleged bribe to CAN, in a three-page letter told the President-elect that the Christian community in the North East were watching with keen interest the plots by the leadership of All Progressives Congress to scheme out and marginalise Northern Christians in a yet-to-be announced power sharing arrangement of the party.

Aregbesola Prays For Chibok Girls
Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, on Wednesday, offered prayers to God to give deliverance to the schoolgirls that were abducted in Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram insurgents, in April, last year.
The governor, who spoke at the Children’s Day celebration on Wednesday, with the theme, “Violence against children: Addressing the challenges?” in Osogbo township stadium, supplicated for the return of the kidnapped students and succour to their family.
Aregbesola noted that it was regrettable that violence against children had increased globally and that children have become easy targets of kidnap-for-ransom.
Represented at the event by his deputy, Mrs Grace Titi Laoye Tomori, the governor submitted that the nation was still distraught by the tragedy of the Chibok girls kidnapped by terrorists in their school hostel, which the government was still groping to find solution.

Army Sacks 200 Cowardly Soldiers
THE Nigerian Army has sacked 200 soldiers from the force, following claims that the soldiers fled from the battlefront while Boko Haram advanced.
According to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa service, the soldiers were sacked this week after allegations that they fled Mubi in Adamawa State in November 2014, while Boko Haram took the town.
A military source had told TheCable that as many as 4,000 soldiers were to be dismissed from the force, with the military hoping to “rid the force of cowardice in all its rank and file.”
The recently-dismissed soldiers insisted they were being unfairly targeted, saying they were dismissed without appearing before a court martial.
They added that their failure to fight was because they lacked the weapons to match Boko Haram’s firepower.
Earlier, one of the soldiers to be dismissed had told TheCable that they were to be dismissed without trial.

Microsoft boosts iOS and Android compatibility with Windows 10

Microsoft has announced it will release new software called Phone Companion for Windows 10, as well as new and mobile apps that will give Android and iPhone owners a better experience when they use their phones with both the new desktop OS (currently in a beta release phase) and the company’s cloud services.
Although the Phone Companion software is not available yet, Microsoft’s screenshots suggests its main function is to tell you which mobile app to install on your Android phone or iPhone. And, again based on Microsoft’s screenshots, most of these mobile apps are available today. The two exceptions are the Xbox Music and the Cortana digital personal assistant apps for Android and iPhone.
Microsoft Phone Companion
The Cortana digital personal assistant is similar to Apple’s Siri and Google Now services, which can respond to spoken commands and questions (read our hands on for more details). Cortana is currently only available for Windows Phone 8 and in the beta release (Insider Preview Edition) of Windows 10. Microsoft already has OneDrive, OneNote, Skype, Outlook, and Microsoft Office apps for Android and iPhone. All are free. Note that the OneDrive app can be used to automatically backup phone photos.
Microsoft Phone Companion
The soon-to-be-released apps will let you see photos taken your phone in Microsoft’s Windows 10 PC Photos app. You can, however, get most of this benefit now by turning on automatic backup of photos from your Android phone or iPhone, and then heading to your browser to view the phones on OneDrive.com.
Microsoft also highlights ability to store digital music files in OneDrive and then listen to the music for free on your phone. You can do this today using Google Play Music All Access or Amazon Cloud Drive. However, both of these services require recurring annual fees. It remains to be seen what Microsoft delivers for free and whether there will be paid tiers beyond increased storage options for OneDrive, either as a standalone service or as part of an annual Office 365 subscription.
A third feature is the ability to synchronize OneNote notes between a PC and an Android phone or iPhone. You can essentially do this today as well, by synchronizing both OneNote for Windows and OneNote for either Android or iPhone with OneNote Online. OneNote Online is one of several Office components that Microsoft offers web-based versions for within OneDrive or OneNote.com. Note that the OneNote PC software became free for everyone in 2014. So, you do not have to buy Microsoft Office or have an Office 365 subscription to try this multi-way synchronization right now.
Microsoft Phone Companion
Next up is the ability to synchronize Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). This again can be done today using the free mobile apps and Microsoft’s own OneDrive file synchronization support for Windows 7 and 8.1.
Finally, Microsoft highlights the ability to use it Cortana digital assistant, which started as a service exclusive to Windows Phone users and, more recently, as a service that Windows 10 beta-testers can try out. iPhone users already have access to both Apple’s own Siri service as well as Google Now (built into Google’s iOS search app). Cortana will have the most value to Windows 10 users who use and, thereby, train Cortana about what information they find useful. Google Now does this today for Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad) users. It learns about what information you might find interesting every time you use Google Search while logged in to your Google account.
Here’s Microsoft’s release schedule for the new apps:

June: Phone Companion app for Windows 10 PC
End of June: Cortana for Android
End of June or sometime in July: Xbox Music app for Android and iPhone with beta OneDrive music playback
“Later this year:” Cortana for iPhone

Last week, Microsoft unveiled Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10122. Windows 10 is expected to land sometime this summer — late July, if AMD’s CEO was correct.

Politics / Tambuwal Hands Over To Ihedioha As Acting Speaker by joehotnaija(m): 9:01am On May 27, 2015
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, bowed out on Tuesday after handing over the leadership of the legislature to his deputy, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha, who will round off the tenure of the House on June 5.

Tambuwal, who is the Governor-elect for Sokoto State, will be inaugurated on May 29 as governor.

His decision to transfer power to Ihedioha ahead of the May 29 handover date was to avoid a possible constitutional crisis of taking oath of office for two separate offices.

While he will be inaugurated as governor on May 29, his current tenure as a member of the House will end on June 6.

Tambuwal, who spoke with journalists soon after Tuesday’s sitting of the House, disclosed that the members agreed at an executive session that Ihedioha should preside over the affairs of the House till June 6.

“My stay here in the House would have effectively come to an end on May 29 after I would have been inaugurated as governor.

“We have to avoid any possible issues on this, since the constitution is silent on what happens when a sitting Speaker has to move to another office,” he added.

According to him, the 1999 Constitution does not envisage a situation where the Speaker will leave one office for another, while the oath taken for the current one is subsisting.

However, he noted that under the Standing Orders of the House, a Speaker Pro-tempore was required to be elected by members to run the House for any period the substantive Speaker would not be available.

But, he explained that the extant case was different because he would not return to the House anymore.

“At our executive session, a member came up with an ingenious way of dealing with the matter on hand, which members accepted.

“He came up with the idea that the portion of the House rules in question should be suspended to enable the deputy speaker to continue to preside over the House instead of electing a new Speaker,” Tambuwal added.

Tambuwal stated that the other alternative would have been to shut down the House before June 6, but said he was not in support of such a move.

“I won’t shut down the House. The House can sit tomorrow ( today), Thursday and possibly the other sitting days of next week,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the contestants for the speakership of the 8th Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Monguno, on Tuesday voluntarily withdrew from the race.

Monguno, who is from Borno State, said that he was stepping down to back the candidature of House Minority Leader, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, one of the frontline contenders.

Monguno added that he would instead join Gbajabiamila for the position of deputy speaker.

Part of a statement he issued in Abuja, read, “After broad consultations and thoughtful consideration, I have decided not to run for the office of the Speaker in the 8th Assembly.

“Instead, I give my full endorsement to my friend and colleague, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who I believe has the requisite qualification to lead the 8th Assembly in the onerous task of addressing the important and pressing needs of the citizens of this nation.

“I will instead be running for the Deputy Speaker position on a joint ticket with Hon. Gbajabiamila.”

El-Rufai Vows To Go After Predecessor

Author: joseph sunday | 14:44 | No comments |
Kaduna State Governor-elect, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, has vowed to probe the outgoing administration of Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero after finding he will be inheriting depleted state reserves.
El-Rufai Vows To Go After Predecessor
Ek-Rufai and Ramallan Yero
El-Rufai,speaking on Tuesday shortly after receiving the report of the All Progressives Congress Transition Committee in Kaduna said he wouldn’t shield anybody working for the previous administration from probe, including the governor, after taking over government on May 29.
El-Rufai said money stolen from the state’s treasury would be accounted for by the outgoing government of Yero.
The former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said the Peoples Democratic Party in the state has mismanaged every aspect of Kaduna welfare.
The governor-elect told the Punch, “This report is the beginning we are trying to understand the government and see what has been left behind and we will see some more.
“I have said this and I will say it again; no one will take away the resources of this state without consequences.
“We are not going to let it happen. There would be full accountability for every penny that accrue to this state and any one that has taken the money for this state will he asked politely to return it and if he doesn’t, we will take actions that are not necessarily polite.
“I am determined to do this. This state has gone through trauma. Development has suffered. Resources have not been applied efficiently and effectively and we are not going to draw a line and say the past is the past. The past will be the future.”

El-Rufai said results at the just concluded elections proves that no sitting government in Nigeria can rule forever.
The governor-elect asked to be judged while in office as from May 29, saying the people of the state have the right to vote him out in 2019 if he fails to performance.
He said, “Here in Kaduna, my partner and I (Deputy Governor-elect) will work as hard as we can to deliver true development and progress in the lives of our people and if we fail in four years, we will be voted out and others will be voted in. So, it is a good thing and that is how it should be.”
Meanwhile Chairman, APC Kaduna Transition Committee, Malam Balarabe Abbas-Lawal, while submitting the report to the governor-elect, said the out-going PDP administration in the state was un-cooperative.
“Our report is unfortunately an interim report as critical information required by the various sub-committees have not been provided despite several informal and formal attempts to persuade the outgoing government to accede to our requests,” he said.
The former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), won the April 11 Kaduna gubernatorial election by a landslide victory, pulling a total of 1,117,635 votes to defeat the incumbent governor and the Peoples Democratic candidate, Muhktar Yero, who scored 485,833 to come second.
Mr El-Rufai won in 17 local government areas, while his PDP challenger clinched six local government areas.

The Federal Government has approved N500 million for each of the four Federal Colleges of Education upgraded to Universities of Education as administrative and running costs. Mr. Olebara said Mr. Shekarau made the announcement when he met with provosts and governing councils of the new universities of education on May 23, in Abuja.
He said the minister assured the provosts and members of the governing councils that they would be retained.
Mr. Shekarau said the Federal Government had directed TETFund to disburse the approved sum to each of the institutions.
“The old laws establishing the colleges of education will be repelled in due course and the appropriate legislatures will regularise the universities of education,’’ the minister said.
Mr. Shekarau said the ministry made concerted efforts to get the Federal Executive Council, FEC, to approve the upgrading because of the need to promote teacher education.
He expressed optimism that the upgrade would attract more Nigerians into the teaching profession with a view to producing first class brains as teachers.
The minister said, “The National Universities Commission and the National Commission for Colleges of Education will supervise the transition of these institutions to their new status.
“Government will appoint Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors for the new institutions.
“The provosts will become the Deputy Vice-Chancellors in the interim as the Federal Government has directed that no Vice-Chancellor will serve in his or her zone of origin.’’
The Federal Executive Council on May 22 approved the upgrade of the four Federal Colleges of Education to Universities of Education.

Obasanjo Dumps PDP, Wishes To Remain An Elder Statesman

Nigeria’s former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday announced his decision to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that he wishes to remain an elder statesman.

Following his announcement, Obasanjo asked that his PDP membership ID card be torn by the Chairman of his ward 11 Ita-Eko, Sumonu Oladunjoye.

Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, he further maintained that he isn’t prepared to join another political party, as he wishes to remain an elder statesman.

Chief  Obasanjo, had recently been vocal about the  forthcoming presidential elections, as well as the candidate he will support.

At the launch of his new book ‘My Watch’ in the United Kingdom, Obasanjo responded to questions on reports that he had endorsed the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, maintaining that his wish is to see Nigeria headed by a strong president.

“Well, whatever you get in the paper and in the press, please yourself,” he said to guests at the event, who wanted to confirm the reported endorsement.

“What I said, I maintain that I will say it again and I will do it. When the time comes for me to vote, I will consider the track record of all the candidates that are contesting and I will assess; based on my own assessment for who I believe have the best track record to perform the job of the Nigerian President, then he will have my vote.

He added, “If anybody should know what the job of the Nigerian President requires, I should know.”

Obasanjo, who is also a retired Army General, added that, “Nigeria has a population of 180 million and you wouldn’t have anybody other than one person or two persons that can run the affairs of Nigeria? What the hell are we talking about?

“For me, there are millions who can run the affairs of Nigeria who are not even coming out. So why should you die on behalf of one who is probably performing as a mediocre? With all due respect.

“Nigeria, if you love it, you would look for the best for Nigeria and I don’t believe that at this point in time we have the best for Nigeria,” he said.

He recently fell out with the incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP, making him to make statements, which to many could at best be from the opposition.

Forcing Elections Postponement

Obasanjo further accused the President of forcing the elections postponement on the INEC, a situation he said was designed to make him win by all means possible.

The former president, who was the nation’s military leader from 13 February 1976 to 1 October 1979 and a democratically elected president from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007, further expressed pessimism on the possibilities of achieving success in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram by the Nigerian military and other allied forces.

He urged the leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Party (APC) to ensure that the nation’s democracy remains intact.

Presidency Faults Obasanjo’s Claims

The Presidency has however faulted these comments through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati made Government’s position known on his website.

Dr. Abati said that the former president’s comments are odious and repugnant.

According to Dr. Abati, it is obvious that Chief Obasanjo has willfully chosen to close his eyes to the present administration’s good works and intentions, and that for reasons best known to him, Chief Obasanjo has set his mind on regime change by fair or foul means.

The President’s Spokesman said “For the record, President Jonathan has no such intention and will continue to give the greatest possible support to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant federal agencies to ensure that the rescheduled elections are successfully conducted”

Dr. Abati went on to say, “It is not President Jonathan who remains faithful to his oath of office, who is trying to plunge Nigeria into crisis, but Chief Obasanjo, who is scheming to plunge the country into chaos in pursuit of a selfish and highly egocentric agenda”

The President’s spokesman alleged that Chief Obasanjo’s plot with others within and outside the country to thwart the general elections and foist an unconstitutional interim national government, which he hopes to heap on the nation is well known to the Federal Government.

Dr. Abati added that as President Jonathan has also assured the nation, the rescheduling of the general elections was in the best interest of the nation and was never driven by any ulterior motive on the part of government as Chief Obasanjo and others have alleged.

Education / Neco Nov/dec 2014 Result Released by joehotnaija(m): 8:02am On Feb 05, 2015
Minna—National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the Nov/Dec 2014 SSCE results with remarkable departure from the past results recorded in the past years.
Registrar/ Chief Executive of the Council, Professor Promise Okpala who announced the result in Minna yesterday said 52.94% of the candidates had Credit in English and 55.37% in Mathematics which is a tremendous improvement from the past years.
The Registrar said, out of 63,445 that registered for the examinations, 61,386 eventually sat for the examinations with 30.57% recording Credits and above.
A breakdown of results recorded in the core subjects shows that out of 53, 848 who sat for Biology 26,947 obtained pass with Credit which represents 50.04%. Also, out of 28,250 Candidates who sat for Chemistry,14,858 passed with Credit representing 51.62%, while 28,222 sat for Physics with 57 pass at Credit level which represents 0.20%.
Similarly, 1,753 sat for Further Mathematics while 395 passed at Credit level representing22.53%, Agricultural Science had 41,080 Candidates and had 12,006 pass at Credit level representing 29,22%.
Professor Okpala however decried the continuous involvement of Candidates in Examination malpractices despite the stringent measures taken to stop the ugly trend pointing out that 620 cases of malpractices were recorded which is still an increase in the ugly incidence.
“It is important to note that there have been improvements in NECO SSCE results over the past four years. A comparative analysis of the results in English language and Mathematics examinations and those who had five Credits and above including English language and Mathematics from 2011 to 2014 depicts this trend.” http://hotnaijainfo..com/2015/02/neco-releases-novdec-2014-result.html?m=1

Fashion / What Not To Wear To A Wedding by joehotnaija(m): 10:04pm On Jan 24, 2015
Groovy Friday: What Not To Wear To A Wedding

The weekend is almost here, and I’m sure we are getting ready to unwind and have fun.

Most of us would be attending wedding ceremonies this weekend, right? I think I hear ‘Yes’. So, let’s have a chat on outfits that shouldn’t be worn to weddings.

Fashion in its ever evolving nature has ruled out some of the things we took as norms with regards to wedding guest outfits. Previously, the rule was that only a bride should wear white on her wedding day, but that has changed. Now brides even dress their bridesmaids in white and sometimes ask their guests to dress in white too. (Remember Solange’s wedding). But I still know some people frown against this.

However colours aside, there are some outfits that are just not cool to be worn to weddings. I asked a few people and this is the list we came up with:

Ladies:

 A very short dress
A very tight dress
A very tight and short dress
A super sparkly dress
Anything too loud or garish
A dress that exposes too much cleavage
Men

Jeans trousers
Sagging trousers
Shorts
A hooded shirt
A t-shirt
A tuxedo (only meant for the groom)
The overall idea when picking an outfit for a wedding is that what you wear should not outshine the bride or groom because its their 5day not yours. Also, don’t dress too casual or look out of place.

Dearest fashionistas, I’d love to know what you think. What are the outfits you shouldn’t wear to a wedding? What is the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen anyone wear to a wedding?

And, if you were a bride, would you like anyone to wear a white dress to your wedding?

Let’s discuss!

Sports / Chelsea Latest Mouriho Speaks by joehotnaija(m): 9:28pm On Jan 24, 2015
Jose Mourinho’s words following the home FA Cup exit to Bradford were a mix of praise for the League One side’s performance and criticism of his own side’s display.

Despite opening up a two-goal advantage in Saturday afternoon’s tie, the Blues suffered our first exit to lhttp://hotnaijainfo..com/2015/01/how-to-overcome-inferiority-complex.html?m=1ower division opposition in this competition since 2008, and with the side from Yorkshire running out 4-2 winners, the Chelsea manager went into the away dressing room after the final whistle to congratulate them all individually…

‘I find among my bad feelings about the game and the result, space to feel happy for Bradford,’ said Mourinho when it was time to talk to the media.

‘But I also feel ashamed and the players should feel exactly the same as I feel. By one side this is the beauty of football, because in not many sports is it possible for the best players to lose against a team or players with completely different potential.

‘By another side this is the beauty of the FA Cup because it happens in this more than in other countries, but this is only one part of my feelings and analysis. For the other part I repeat the words I used yesterday in the case that we lose, that it is a disgrace – a sports disgrace.’

Mourinho agreed it was one of the worst results of his career…
‘I know that in the history of this competition this happens to every team now and again. For me it is the first time, for Chelsea it doesn’t happen a lot, and it is unacceptable to lose against a team from a lower league.

‘I don’t know what the media are going to do in relation to their work but if I was them I would be very critical of Chelsea, the Chelsea manager and the Chelsea players but not just that, because Bradford don’t deserve that we forgot them and just focus on the negative Chelsea. We should also focus on them because they deserve it after such an impressive result.’

He pointed out that his team selection was basically the same as the one that defeated Watford 3-0 at the Bridge in the previous round. Andre Schurrle was ruled out this morning due to pain in his back…
‘What I did is normal. The players who played are not a team of kids and the selection was more than good enough.

‘The only player who comes from youth football, Andreas Christensen, did his job very well and we didn’t lose because of him. The other players are ones who have to be ready to play for Chelsea, they have to be ready to play any game. If they can’t play against a team from the Championship or League One or League Two, what do we do?’

Mourinho said he would have a better feel for how this defeat will affect the rest of the campaign in the days ahead as the focus shifts to taking on Liverpool…
‘I always said that I don’t choose competitions and we go match after match. The most important competition now is the Capital One Cup because it is the next game. Obviously the Premier League is in front of the cups but the way we prepare in a serious and a professional way, I can’t say we don’t care about the FA Cup. We lose and we care.

‘The players who were not involved directly in this game – Matic, Ivanovic, Diego Costa - I don’t think they can be affected by it. We lost at home against a lower division team and in an ideal word it will affect us in a positive not a negative way, like we have to win the next match and let’s go for it - but I don’t know. I have to feel it tomorrow and after tomorrow.’

Education / How To Overcome Infirioty Complex Among Your Equals by joehotnaija(m): 9:18pm On Jan 24, 2015
How To Overcome Your Inferiority Complex

We all fall in the trap of comparison wherein we inevitably compare ourselves with others.  This comparison does more harm to us than good. This does not mean we stop looking up to others. But there is a difference between learning from others and simply comparing yourself with them and then feeling, ‘Oh! Wish I was like her!’

This comparison is the main cause of inferiority complex. We compare ourselves with our neighbors, colleagues, batch mates, celebrities, siblings and with strangers too!

It happened with me several times that often while traveling I spotted fashionable women around. I looked at their dresses, their style and matching accessories and then glanced at my attire which was usually a comfy, simple dress. In the name of accessories, I generally wore a wrist watch and my make up comprised of a light color lipstick. That’s all. So each time I came across a hip girl on street, I was ready to sulk and to term myself a ‘dodo’. But this was long ago.

Over time, with some self conscious efforts and with company of some wise, supportive friends, I have overcome my inferiority complex of not being able to dress up in style. Also I realized that beauty lies in simplicity. In the process, I have learnt several lessons and am ready to share them here.

Determine your specific inferiority

It is better to be specific than generally feeling low. Narrow it down to a specific type first. Do you feel inferior to rich people, educated people, good looking people, famous people? First find out your category of inferiority. I had the weird complex with people who had a trendy, contemporary dressing style!

Once you are done with finding your category, lean it further with names. List down the names of people. I felt inferior with particularly two friends of mine. So come up with the names. Once you have the names, you need to know why you feel inferior to them. Do they make you feel low? If yes, dump them right now and move on. If no, then ask yourself ‘who says I am not as good as that Xyz’? You have the answer and that is the solution.

Your Thinking Matters

Eleanor Roosevelt said, ‘no one can make you feel inferior without your permission’ and she said it so right. It is us who feel inferior and if we change our thinking, every thing about us changes.

There is a difference in being inferior and feeling inferior. Being inferior is simply a game of relativity. But not everyone feels inferior.

If we lay more emphasis on what others think about us, we attract more problems in life. This is our life and only our opinion should matter. Finding faults in ourselves based on whether others find us good enough or not is not going to help anybody. It becomes dangerous when we may actually be better than others but somehow feel worse than them.

Chuck that habit of taking others’ judgements about you seriously and then feeling low.

Love Thyself

The one thumb rule for a happy life is learning to love oneself. I am totally in love myself so much so that many of my friends call me a narcissist. No doubt, earlier I was not too confident of my dressing sense but slowly, I overcame that guilt as well. And now, I love myself just the way I am.

We would never even find the need of comparing ourselves with others if we are satisfied with our ‘self’. Loving oneself is the first step to achieve confidence and that sets the path for high self esteem.

Stop wanting to be some one else. Just be yourself and create your own identity. Someone probably sometime told you that you were not good enough and you have been carrying that luggage even today! Drop it right now. I threw it off and I am much lighter and better and happier.

Seek Positive Company

It is very important to be in company of people who are very positive in nature. If you are surrounded by people who spend half of their time in analyzing others and judging them, probably you would get influenced too.

Be with people who like others the way they are. Seek positive company. In a good company and with people who gladly accept you as you are, you would grow up to be more confident of yourselves.

Finally, again, your confidence should not depend on others. It should exude from within.

In the end, I would like to quote the following lines:

Do what thy manhood bids thee do, from none but self expect applause;

He noblest lives and noblest dies who makes and keeps his self-made laws.

Education / 9 Lies We Tell Ourselves That Kill Our Chances Of Success Success Advice by joehotnaija(m): 8:10pm On Jan 24, 2015
You know something? We’re lying to ourselves. We’re joking all the time. We don’t dare to face the truth.

Why? For a variety of reasons. Some of us are always making up excuses. Some of us are not disciplined enough to take on the hard work. The rest of us are afraid of success.

You may be thinking, “Hey! I’m no liar!” but the thing is, the lies are subtle.

Most, if not all of us are guilty of lying to ourselves from time to time.

Here are some of the things we say to ourselves, check it out.

1. “I don’t know what to do.”

Do you really?

Look, there’s honestly no excuse here. The answer to almost anything can be found with Google today.

Sure, maybe you don’t know the exact, technical answer you think you need for something, but the bigger question is whether you started to TRY your hand at the first solution you found.

The answers need not be perfect. Just give it a whirl. You will know what to do eventually.

2. “I’m too busy.”

To do what you know you have to do, which is to put in the work.

Straight up, busy is bullshit. Everybody is busy today!

If you really want something, you will make time for it no matter what.

So unless you know deep down you’ve really tried to fit the work in your schedule, you’re only lying to yourself.

3. “I’ve done all I could.”

If you know there’s another one or two possibilities to what you know you can do to give you better results, then do it.

Don’t say you’ve done it all just because you finished the main tasks. It’s the other tiny things that actually makes the difference in the results.

4. “I’m too tired.”

Or, are you just lazy?

Unless you’re a hundred years old or suffering from energy-sapping sickness, this is no excuse.

There’s no harm in losing a couple of hours of sleep or staying up late a little bit more to work. This is what separates the truly successful and the rest of the world.

If anything, do yourself a favour and adjust your lifestyle so that you can get ample rest to maximize your productivity.

5. “I can’t do it alone. I require guidance. I need a mentor!”

Come on man.

For whatever great feat there has been done out there, somebody did it on their own first! It also takes a single person with a single idea within to invent or create something!

Getting help and being mentored is great for reducing the learning curve, but how would you know how capable you really are if you don’t give yourself a chance to fail?

Run into the dark. You’ll be surprised with what you’re capable of.

6. “I’m broke.”

This lie comes in two forms.

The first is that we think we need to spend on the latest equipment, course or whatever before we start on our venture.

No, you don’t. Just because something is new and expensive doesn’t mean you will get a lot out of it. You can easily try your hand at starting now with free tools online or simply borrowing from others.

The second is that we think we lack money when we really don’t.

“I’m broke” is what the guy who drinks, smokes and parties all the time said. That’s a true story I see in some of my friends.

Unless your bank account reads zero and you’re homeless, you’re not broke. You just need to stop spending on crap and start investing in yourself properly.

And quite frankly, you’ve only yourself to blame if you don’t want to get a job when you know you can.

7. “I’m not as good as others.”

This is pure self-sabotage. It is a lie that only reflects your lack of confidence and sadly, it becomes true for you when it paralyzes you into inaction.

See now, it’s not about being as good as others. It’s about always doing your best and learning to be an effective communicator to your prospects with your art, craft and passion. How good or bad others are really don’t matter at all.

Don’t put others on a pedestal. Work on creating your own pedestal and lift yourself up.

Besides, even if others are more talented than you, it’s useless if they don’t have the right attitude and that’s what matters most.

8. “I don’t know where to start.”

You don’t know? Or you just don’t dare to?

It’s too easy to start today, so there’s really no excuses.

Learn by using Google.

Try your hand at it and carry out the first step.

Get feedback by sharing it with your friends on social media.

How can you not know where to start?

9. “I’m not good enough.”

The worst lie of all. When you say this, you’re telling yourself something that doesn’t exist at all.

Again, it’s not about trying to be good. It’s about trying and giving it your best shot.

And you do that over and over again until you become the best version of yourself.

Please don’t ever lie to yourself like that. It’s unhealthy and doesn’t make sense at all.

You can’t ever know for certain until you try, start and give yourself a chance. Nobody starts something being the best anyway.

What are some of the lies you to yourself sometimes? Please share them in the comments below so we can learn from one another.http://hotnaijainfo..com/2015/01/9-lies-we-tell-ourselves-that-kill-our.html?m=1

Education / 10 Reasons Why You Failed by joehotnaija(m): 5:09am On Jan 23, 2015
If you’re searching for the secrets to success, they aren’t hard to find. There are thousands of books, seminars, podcasts, articles, interviews, videos, and courses all dedicated to teaching you how to succeed. And yet even with all of this incredible information available at little to no cost, so many of us continue to live in mediocrity and will never taste success.

The reality is that you can have all the right knowledge, but if you hold on to the wrong beliefs or behaviors, you are more likely to meet with failure than you are with success. Failure is not always a bad thing, as long as you are learning from the mistakes and are correcting your behaviors and actions to reach success. Fortunately there are signs that serve as warnings that you may be on the path to constant failure. By acknowledging these signs, and making changes when necessary, you increase your odds of success dramatically.

Listed below are 10 signs that you’re addicted to constant failure:

How To Stop Failing By Changing Your Behaviors

1. You’re addicted to the approval of others

When it’s time to make an important decision, instead of trusting your logic and intuition, you consult with the people around you first. You value the opinions of others more than you value your own. This emotional addiction to the approval of others stems from your lack of self-confidence, and your desire to please everyone.

Successful people are very particular about whose advice they ask for. They make sure to only consider the opinion of someone who has a track record of success with the issue at hand. They don’t concern themselves with the opinions of anyone and everyone, especially when it comes to issues that those people have little or no experience with. At the end of the day, they do what they feel is right – not what other people convince them to do.

2. You entertain yourself instead of educating yourself

You work a full time job and you might even have a decent career, but you haven’t opened a book since college, and the only extra training you’ve taken was required by your employer. The thought of going to networking events in your industry, reading books, listening to podcasts, or going to seminars to learn new skills and get new ideas is completely foreign to you.

Instead of spending your spare time investing in yourself and your ability to provide more value to the marketplace, you distract yourself with entertainment that adds no real value to your life or your productivity. You watch television often, you always know who won the game, and you can be found in nightclubs regularly.

3. You blame others for your circumstances

You’re not satisfied with where you are in life, but you have a perfect explanation for it. Essentially, none of it is your fault. You blame your boss, your coworkers, your parents, your educators, your childhood, even the economy for your lack of success.

You refuse to take 100% responsibility for your results. You refuse to acknowledge that YOU are in control of your life, and you get to steer yourself in whatever direction you choose.

4. You’re afraid of making mistakes

You’re afraid of failure, so you do whatever you can do avoid making mistakes. You forget that in the real world failure is not good or bad, it is simply feedback. But instead of learning from the valuable feedback that failure provides, you try to avoid it entirely. When you make a mistake, you cover it up and hope no one notices. You also put off making decisions because you’re afraid of making the wrong one. It takes you a long time to finally make a decision, and you change your mind often.

5. You stay in relationships that obviously aren’t working

You have a tendency to date people who bring you more problems than pleasure. You often tolerate behaviors that you know are unacceptable, and because you tolerate them they continue. Maybe you carry unresolved issues from previous relationships into your current one. Maybe you struggle with a low self-image so the standard you have for others isn’t very high. Whatever the case is, you must understand that your choice of spouse has a major impact on your life and success. If the person you’re with now is inhibiting your happiness and success, cut them lose and raise your standards.

6. You’re addicted to drama

Your life is a lot like an episode from a reality TV show. You are rarely on good terms with all of the people around you. You gossip about others often, and surprise surprise, they gossip about you too. The people you spend time with are known for arguing with each other, flirting with each other’s spouses, lying, and generally just causing problems between each other regularly. Instead of disassociating yourself from these types of people, you jump right in and add fuel to the fire. Heck, maybe you’re even the star of the show.

7. You spend time with people who are going nowhere

Jim Rohn, who was considered to be America’s Foremost Business Philosopher, once said that you become the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Unfortunately you spend most of your time with people who do not support or encourage your success. The people around you have no ambitions, no goals, and no concrete plans to improve their life. They seem to think that success is something that happens to other people, but not to them. You sometimes share an ambitious idea with these people, but they are quick to crush it.

Successful people know that the attitudes of the people around them are contagious, so they intentionally surround themselves with people who will encourage them and push them to higher levels. They know that they can’t afford to adopt the beliefs, thoughts, and habits of mediocre people if they are going to continue succeeding.

8. You’re careless with money

You often run out of money before you run out of month. You’re living paycheck to paycheck and you invest nothing for the future. You carry a balance on your credit cards, you take vacations you can’t afford, and you often buy expensive things impulsively. You spend money trying to look successful, but your balance sheet tells a different story. You hardly have any savings. You certainly don’t have a retirement plan. You don’t have any assets that make money for you, and your spending habits are your biggest liability.

You sometimes come close to acknowledging the truth about your situation, but instead of facing it and changing it, you let it continue. Thinking about your finances gives you a headache, and you prefer to avoid the subject entirely.

9. You have dreams (great) but no set goals (not so great)

You often imagine a more desirable version of your life, but instead of working towards making that vision a reality, you settle for your present circumstances. You complain often, but change little. You say you want certain things, but you do nothing to obtain them. You wish for your life to get better, but you make no commitment to improve yourself or your circumstances.

Successful people are driven by clear, specific goals. Their goals are what guide their decisions and their daily activities, and they rarely let a day pass by without doing something to bring them closer to achieving them. Their dreams aren’t something they sleep with at night; their dreams are something they wake up and chase.

10. You think successful people got lucky

The final sign that you’re addicted to failure is you believe that people who are successful got lucky – that they had some sort of advantage that you don’t have. You believe their parents helped them, or they went to the right school, or grew up in the right neighbourhood, or got in at the right time, or knew the right person, etc.

You think success is something that people stumble upon – a “right place at the right time” sort of situation. But the reality is people succeed by being the right person in the right place at the right time. In other words, they work relentlessly to prepare themselves for specific opportunities, and when those opportunities present themselves, they seize them. They don’t sit around waiting for the life they want to fall into their lap. They also typically don’t buy lottery tickets.

Romance / 10 Signs Your Partner Is Cheating On You by joehotnaija(m): 8:48am On Jan 22, 2015
Must Read! 10 Signs Your Partner Is Cheating On You
By MoonArticles at 10:34 PM  Relationship Tips  No comments

Recent studies show that over 50% of men and 50% of women cheat at some point in their relationship. With such alarming numbers, one may wonder if his/her mate is cheating. If you have a “gut” feeling that something is going on, chances are high that you could be correct. Here are the top ten signs to look for that might mean your partner is cheating:

1. S/He takes the cell phone everywhere. Taking the phone everywhere, including the bathroom, is a red flag. Doing so can help the cheating partner hide text messages or make secret calls. If your partner is attached at the hip to the cell phone there might be cause for alarm.

2. S/He always has a reason you cannot hang out or visit their living space. Not being able to visit, announced or otherwise, could mean there is something to hide. In the early stages of a relationship, this boundary is expected. But as time progresses and the boundary remains high, cheating might be the reason.

3. S/He no longer initiates or seems interested in sex. A sudden decrease in interest in being intimate could mean that someone else is satisfying your partner.

4. S/He falls off the map suddenly and frequently. You’re texting or messaging and all of a sudden your partner falls off the map. When asked, s/he does not give a clear or reasonable explanation.

5. Working late… a lot! Suddenly, when you ask to make plans the excuse is always “I have to work late.” Perhaps the excuse is legitimate on occasion, but when this excuse becomes habitual it could be a red flag for cheating activities.

6. Always ready to run an errand. When a partner always volunteers to run an errand or looks for insignificant reasons to get out of the house, cheating could be the culprit.
7. S/He gets upset if you touch his/her phone. You pick up his phone to check the time or date and your partner overreacts. This response could be an indication that there is something in the phone to hide.

8. Sudden increased interest in appearance. A new wardrobe and a new perfume or cologne could be signs on interest in someone else.

9. S/He keeps you a clandestine secret. S/he has met your friends but not the reverse. Being kept a secret could be a sign that there is something to hide from you.

10. S/He avoids contact with you on social media. You are not allowed to follow him/her on Instagram or you cannot be his/her friend on Facebook are big, red warning signs that your partner could have a secret relationship.

Indeed, accusations of cheating and infidelity are serious. These are just a few things to look for that could possibly indicate fidelity. With more than half of both genders engaging in cheating behaviors, the likelihood that your intuition is right is pretty high.

Look At What Patience Jonathan Said About God And PDP
On the 17th of January 2015, Patience Jonathan, The First Lady of Nigeria was in Anambra State for a political campaign rally for her Husband, President Goodluck Jonathan.

Typical of her, she had to leave some amusing quotes for us.

According to Writer @Stanleyazuakola on Twitter, the first lady said some not so attractive things about PDP and God.

Here’s what she said below;

“Nigeria women, apart from God in heaven, our God on earth is the PDP”

5 Beauty Habits You Should Be Doing Every Night

Your skin can do serious work for you while you sleep-you just have to give it a little help along the way. Try one or all of these treatments to wake up looking refreshed and gorgeous.

1. Remove all your makeup. Lipstick, mascara, powder…. everything. This ensures that your pores will be clean and your eyes free of leftover gunk.

2. Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase. Their texture prevents wrinkles and fine lines because it causes less friction between your skin and the pillowcase.

3. Once you remove your makeup, use a facial cleanser to remove any dead skin, dirt and sweat. Pick a facial cleanser that right for your skin type.

4. Apply a good Moisturizer. It a myth that only people with dry skin need moisturizer. In fact, even people with oily skin can benefit from a regular moisturizer, though they may be able to skip a day without noticing too much change in the way their skin looks.

5. Wear your hair up but not too tight. It’s a good idea to keep your hair out of your face while you’re sleeping to keep its natural oils from wreaking havoc on your complexion.

SL Fabz, what else do you ensure you do to your skin/face before going to bed every night

Warren Buffett began investing at the ripe young age of 11 and by the age of 13 he was into his own business as a paper-boy, selling his own horse racing tip sheets. Nowadays, Buffett is the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, a multinational Corporation with a net worth of $162 Billion in revenues, as of 2012. But the better part of him, apart from his money and businesses, is his ethics and moral values. The Best Quotes By Warren Buffett

1. Value Your Reputation

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you thing about that, you’ll do things differently.  ~ Warren Buffett

2. Work For a Better Future

Someone’s sitting under the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago. ~ Warren Buffett

3. Bring Value

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get. ~ Warren Buffett

You value any brand because of its services, it’s the same thing which is applicable to you when you provide your own service. Your brand’s value is determined by the service you offer.

5. Patience Is The Key

NO matter how great the talents or efforts, some things just take time. You can’t produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant. ~ Warren Buffett

Apart from the talent and all the persistent efforts you make, what matters the most is patience. You need to have patience to achieve success in any endeavour you take.

6. Take Calculated Risks

Risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing. ~ Warren Buffett

You must take risk but it should be a calculated risk. Calculated risks are the risks which you take after considering a lot and you know exactly what you’re doing. It is better to take calculated risks rather than running from facing risks.

7. Do What You Love

There comes the time when you ought to start doing what you want. Take a job that you love. You will jump out of bed in the morning. I think you are out of your mind if you keep taking jobs that you don’t like because you think it will look good on your resume. Isn’t that a little like saving up sex for your old age? ~ Warren Buffett

Simply, do what you love. Most of the people are just ruining their lives by living on other’s interest. Follow your passion; find that job in which you find leisure. The day when you don’t feel your work as a job anymore that is the day you’ll taste the satisfaction of a success.

8. Know Your Competition

In the business world, the rear-view mirror is always clearer than the windshield. ~Warren Buffett

Knowing your competition is always better than knowing yourself. To keep a track on your competition is a must for any business. Successful businessmen always see how their competitors have performed in the past and measure where they may need to head in the future if they want to take edge over others.

9. One Step At A Time

I don’t look to jump over 7-foot bars: I look around for 1-foot bars that I can step over. ~ Warren Buffett

10. Learn To Say “No”

The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything. ~ Warren Buffett

You have to pick the your ventures carefully and start saying “no” to the nuisance ideas around you, by doing this you would definitely become a winner. Too many eggs in the basket can burden the load.

11. Honesty Is A Rare Policy

Honesty is a very expensive gift, don’t expect it from cheap people. ~ Warren Buffett

Don’t expect everyone around you to be straight forward with you. Stay close to those who are loyal, honest and true. Keep safe people around you.

12. Take Control

You’ve gotta keep control of your time and you can’t unless you say no. You can’t let people set your agenda in life. ~ Warren Buffett

You are the master of your life and you should never give the steering wheel of  life to any other. You must take control and sail your self, don’t get carried away by the tides. Time is your most valuable asset, so use your time very wisely http://hotnaijainfo..com/2015/01/make-it-big-in-business.html?m=1
