The amount of radiofrequency energy a cell phone user is exposed to depends on the technology of the phone, the distance between the phone’s antenna and the user, the extent and type of use, and the user’s distance from cell phone towers.


Studies thus far have not shown a consistent link between cell phone use and cancers of the brain, nerves, or other tissues of the head or neck. More research is needed because cell phone technology and how people use cell phones have been changing rapidly. Mobile phones and cancer So far, the scientific evidence shows it is unlikely that mobile phones could increase the risk of cancer. But we do not know enough to completely rule out a risk. In 2011, the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified mobile phones for the first time in their 'gold-standard' rating system. What does the evidence say? Looking at all the evidence together suggests that mobile phones do not increase the risk of brain tumours, or any other type of cancer. The largest study so far on mobile phones and cancer is part of the Million Women Study and included around 790,000 women. It found no link between use of mobile phones and brain cancer in general or 18 other types of cancer. The researchers found no link between mobile phone use and risk of the two most common types of brain tumour (glioma and meningioma), but did see a raised risk of one rare type of brain tumour (acoustic neuroma) for women who had used mobile phones for at least five years. The scientists who ran this study think this result could be down to chance, because they investigated many different types of cancer. They also think that if there truly was an increased risk of acoustic neuroma with mobile phone use, this would cause a rise in rates of the disease in the general population. There has been no such rise over the last decade, when long-term use of mobile phones increased substantially. So for now there is some uncertainty over whether mobile phones might increase the risk of this rare type of tumour. There is a health risk... So far, the only health issue firmly associated with mobile phones is an increased risk of car accidents! People who use mobile phones while driving, even with a hands-free kit, are easily distracted and are four times more likely to be involved in an accident. Taking precautions Mobile phones are a recent invention. So far, studies have indicated that using these phones for about 10 years is safe. But we cannot be completely sure about their long- term effects. There have not been enough studies looking at how mobile phones could affect the health of children. Research is underway to fill both of these gaps in our knowledge. Until we get a conclusive answer, the Government recommends that people take precautions. this is a complaint message from a sad experience and a bitter heart MTN customer. unfortunately i use a windows mobile phone and i subscribe to mtn blackberry bbc monthly bis. so i change my phone apn to blackberry.net . at first it work fine, but since last week monday it stopped to connect. initially i thought it was network problem but i later learnt that it was deliberate act by mtn to blocked non blackberry users,


i have two question, one is why is “empty hen” fond of giving something with one hand and then takes 20 with the other hand?

two, what is so special about blackberry phones that only blackberry users can enjoy such benefits? considering the fact blackberry is losing it and people are now going android and others.. umm?

i suspect this initially before opt in, my regret is i would've opt into Aitel bis as it has been working well on any device.

i cannot browse since last week monday and my balance says i am in fair usage and expires next month. my opinion is how can this be rectify because i need to finish my subscription on my device before i work away. so i urge your company to rectify this problem as money is not growing on trees. aitel would've been my option if this was forseen. i will be looking forward to your future policy that will favor the common man.

let me share my experience with mtn blackberry theft. i did mtn blackberry subscription hoping that it was 3gigs cap. luckily i use window mobile which have the application were you can set traffic tracker. that count all your data usage daily by daily and stored them. when i subscribe this plan i set it to track it so that i will able to monitor my usage. currently my data usage is 250MB on the terrif tracker for the blackberry although my brother use my sim one day on laptop to browse for some few hours ok let say he used 100mb that day, but the blackberry status is saying you are on a fair usage and your data plan will expire 2nd august 2013. but i cannot browse any more with the blackberry subscription on phone. but when i change apn to web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net and use my free 10MB it browse well.
