Natural fibres Potentials Reinforcement For polymers (Synthetic or Natural)

Coconut fibre known as coir is a nature fibre extracted from the husk of coconut and used in products such as floor mats, door mats, brushes, mattresses etc. Coir is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut. The individual fibre cells are narrow and hollow, with thick walls made of cellulose. They are pale when immature, but later become hardened and yellowed as a layer of lignin is deposited on their walls. Each cell is about 1mm long and 10 to 20µm in diameter.

The two varieties of coir are brown and white. Brown coir harvested from fully ripened coconuts is thick, strong and has high abrasion resistance. Mature brown coir fibres contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibres such as flax and cotton, so are stronger but less flexible. White coir fibres harvested from coconuts before they are ripe are white or light brown in color and are smoother and finer, but also weaker, coconut coir, either brown or white is high in sodium and potassium content (Hunt, Robert, Ricciard, Zac, 2011).

Fillers as composites acts as modification to various properties of polymers. These fillers are much stiffer and stronger than the polymer and usually increases its modulus and strength and also subsequently affects many other mechanical properties of polymers which includes thermal expansion, transparency thermal stability and so on. They can also extend their properties to fine retardants, electrical and magnetic property modifiers, surface property modifiers and processing aids.

Coir which is thick and coarse, resistant to abrasion and salt water has been strongly proven by many studies to exhibit certain of these properties of filler as it has played a very significant and important role as composites in polymers and therefore, has been considered as a traditional filler. In this case, some transactions that are very complex are operated using parallel changeover and in other remaining existing system in application, direct changeover is used. The researcher recommend the-parallel changeover to avoid drastic problems that may arise due to failure of a new developed system.

Having taken into consideration all the available data gotten for the purpose of this research work, we were able to develop an online insurance registration which will replace the existing system of insurance registration. This system will run on the internet and can be easily accessed from any point once connected to the internet.

Software Testing - This defines the test requirement, which the software should meet and it is progressively integrated into complete package. The process of test plan is concerned with providing that a package produces correct and expected result for all possible input data. Module Testing

In this design, we have many modules which when triggered up at certain events perform a specific function. So, module testing involves testing of each of the modules in software to verify that they meet their respective objective module testing were carried out ensure that information properly flows into and out of the program module under test.

The Integration Test

So far, the various modules have been tested and each proved efficiency as an entity (i.e. module). Though sometimes, the modules can perform their respective functions but when put together, they can function together. So this test therefore checks that when the modules are integrated their can combine to perform their respective functions. Hence, integration testing was done to entire program structure to uncover errors associated with interfacing. These errors were debugged to produce desired result. The essence of integration testing is to ascertain that these modules do not lose their efficiency and reliability. The integration involved the main form which serves as coordinator and driver for other modules.

This is the stage of the system development process. The system implementation specifies clearly the tools used to develop the software and the steps taken to achieve the specified goals. Implementation ensures the acceptability of the software by the intending users. It starts from the point when the system design has been completed to the point when the new system is in place and ready for us.

Main Menu Implementation

The user of this software package navigates the whole program using the main menus. In this process, the user is expected to make his/her choice by clicking any of the sub-menu items. The moment he or she picks a submenu by clicking on it, the sub-system operation is executed. When he or she is done with the operation, he exits the sub-system and goes back to the main menu.

Determination Of Ferric Reducing Power

This was done using the method reported by Rusak et al. (2008). 1ml of the extract was mixed with 3.8mls of the ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP) reagent and allowed to stand at room temperature for 4 minutes. A standard antioxidant solution of (BHT) was prepared and diluted to concentration of 700pm of Fe2+. The same volume (0.2mls) of the standard solution was treated the same way as the sample extract and the absorbance of the standard and sample extract were read in a spectrophotometer at 600nm. The blank was used to balance the spectrophotometer to zero. The formula below was used to calculate the reducing power.
