Nairaland General › Re: Have You Ever Fought For Your Life? by Joeyjones(m): 4:17pm On Jan 08 |
fadre5: April 8th 2025 precisely. I was on my way from Lagos to ogbomoso and the driver was on top speed. I was sitting at the front sit in between the driver and an alfa.
Suddenly the vehicle tyre from behind bursted. I saw death in the eyes as the vehicle fell and flipped while tumbling down a hillside. I was just saying "I can't die now" repeatedly as the car was summersaulting down the hill until it came to stop after flips.
Luckily, I was the only person in the vehicle without injuries as the driver died few minutes after the car paused. Two other persons died including an immigration officer. The other occupants had various degrees of severe injuries. Before rescue came, I was the one pulling out people stuck in the car.
When people came there everyone was like "egbon, were you also on this vehicle?"
E be God, I was just struggling back and forth with eyes closed, damn! It was chaotic. Imagine coming out of this alive and scratch free 🤔
Thank God for life Were you and the driver on seat belt? |

Every inverter room should have smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. The batteries especially can easily catch fire. The same happened in my compound, but we were able to take the batteries out of the room, and it blew up outside with some damage, but it did not reach the gas cylinder inside. |

Image123: Find out the number with access to electricity as well, we will be in front in Africa. This is what i mean by having the numbers. Look for highest deaths and births, highest number of billionaires and poor, highest number of christians and muslims. We will be there. We have the numbers. Yeah we are actually number 3 in terms of highest number of users with electricity in Africa which is poor for our population, but for us to be number 1 for users with no electricity access means it is more than a numbers problem and when you compare users with electricity in terms of percentage we are not even in the top 10. |

IjeBos: I had an issue with an A72 I bought for my mom. The charging port wouldn't work. Got her a new phone but decided to fix it myself for a backup. Purchased another charging port/circuit to replace it and it still wouldn't work. Turns out that one was defective as well. Replaced the charging port again and it's been working since. Maybe the one it was replaced with was defective. I doubt because I ordered one from aliexpress and some phone engineers also used one from another working phone and non worked. |
Phones › Re: This Happened To My Samsung A16 (Photos) by Joeyjones(m): 10:38am On May 21, 2025 |
IjeBos: Depends on what the output voltage of the laptop Charger is. If it is 5V or a PD charger there is no "excess voltage". And laptop charges are generally built better.
Too many variables to decide. Were you using a surge protector with the charger?
It could be a surge which damaged the charger which sent too high voltage to the phone, caused by the fluctuating electricity. Or it could be an issue with the phone battery. I would take the charger out of service until you can figure out what caused what. Your phone at a minimum needs a new battery and charging circuit, not sure other circuits/components weren't damaged.
And I reread your post. What compelled you to test the charger in an undamaged device? You are lucky you don't have 2 broken phones. I had a somewhat similar experience except it was a cable that fell into water and after it dried up it was still working, although once in a while it would disconnect. I used it for months until one day it spoilt 2 of my phones, a redmi and Samsung. Changed the Redmi charging port with no issues but the Samsung even after changing the charging port it still doesn't work. Would you know what got damaged in the Samsung? Already tested another battery and wireless charging still works. |

I blame the EU for this, forcing phone manufacturers to exclude chargers from the phone package because of the "environment". Now you are left to buy chargers that might not be as good as the original. |

chin37: Well I'll try. The bybit virtual MasterCard is just a way for you to spend your crypto currencies in a bybit account. USDT, USDC and I think XRP are part of the ones supported. They are no creation or maintenance fees for the card. The card is primarily linked to your bybit crypto account so as along as there is crypto in that account you can make transactions with the card. Depositing money in the account is usually done via P2P and the rates are fair, even better than the ones offered by most FinTechs. To apply for the card you'll need a bybit account and perform a proof of address and identity verification - I used my bank statement and Passport for this. The whole process took less than an hour to complete.
For the pros: - you get 10% cashback on purchases made with the card. - you can link the card to your local PayPal account. - little or no transaction fees For the cons: well, I haven't really had any since have been using the card for a month. The ones I can think of are - you are capped to 5,000 usd transaction for a day - you can't receive money with card since the card is not exactly attached to a bank account.
I have used the card on PayPal and made all my purchases on AliExpress with it. It's just unbelievable that it works this smoothly. Do you know if you can received refunds if it is used on Aliexpress |

CaptainFM1: Where have you been? Argghhhhhh!
We all fu****kn know your above statement is true. What we are saying is you will be paying data with your blood running "smart" directly on the TV. I've tried as many smart TV as you can think of, and I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't worth it especially if you are looking at getting the juicy stuffs from IPTV.
LG operates with Webos, Hisense on Vidaa, and even the Hisense that operates Androids limits what you can do with the smartness of the TV. For example, I'm replying you right from my smart box. My whatsapp, facebook, tiktoks are all right on smart box. You don't get all those capability on smart TV.
Let me keep it simple for you....Android smart box is exactly your android phone. So basically everything and anything you can do on your phone can be done via your smart box. Smart TV dont offer you that flexibility, plus smart TV suck your data like vampires. Trust me, I have two smart TV's at home, and I had to ignore the smartness in them and go for TV boxes. I have tried both worlds, TV boxes are the way to go.
I've been using them for over 8years now. And if you just manage to configure Kodi, you will even be able to view channels from heavens....Just kidding, but truth is, With Kodi, that's the beginning and end of entertainment. You can never get kodi on your Smart TV. Only smart boxes and your mobile phones will give you that!
What you never try, you never know. If you need repositories for Kodi, I can give you some amazing super repo. Where your Smart Tv will be scoring 2/10, smart boxes will be scoring 9/10.....and this is just based on pure usage and available functionalities. Which super repo do you use that works well? Though I'm new to Kodi I was not able to install Super repo but I installed The Crew Repo. Not all add-ons work. |

It's annoying how most Nigerian ISPs(fibre incl) can't even stream 1080p full hd without buffering. In other countries, people are streaming 4k comfortably and even 8k. And they mostly don't offer truly unlimited plans(it always has a hidden FUP). The ISPs have dealt with us so badly that people on this thread are talking about watching videos in 480p, a video quality that was released in the 80s 💀. Anything lower than 720p is trash to me. Hopefully one day our ISPs get better. |
