Oh my God! I was just ignorant but truely, I don't jump into doing things without consulting people with better knowledge of it. Infact this is what and all I need to hear but more ideas if necessary, are welcomed. Thanks to you all. Can't mention names but you all sound like gurus in this section and wonderful |
dsunmade: I think what he means is remove the engine thermostat and connect the radiator fans such that they work always.Yes, exactly. This is what he meant. His explanation is that the thermostat help heat up their car engine over there by switching off so that the engine does not freeze because of snow, that in Nigeria where we constantly have hot weather, the fan needs to be constantly working.. I appropriate you all. If there is any further thing to inform me about, let me know please. Thanks alot |
Advice me please! I was told by a roadside rewire man that the thermostat controlling my car fan can be disconnected because of our hot whether. He said the weather abroad is cold and fan needs to go off so that the car doesn't freeze with snow. Is it proper to disconnect it? Pls advice me. Thanks |
@ Ba aliyah. you are wonderful, am really really enjoying the ride. thanks for the advice. |

Yes people over exaggerate this honda ball joint thing. I hv not owned a car before but now that I want to buy my first car and honda civic is my choice, people want to make me have a rethink about the product. I don't knw much about car maintenance, so how can I handle this honda ball joint maintenance as a novice? Somebody help |
everyday: funnyFunny? No scary |
Thanks. I hv already read a lot of owners reviews on it including Edmunds and kkb but I believe more in what you are telling me than foreign reviews because I do think they are not too real and the conditions over there are different but you and I share something common. Wheather, bad roads etc. Thanks for your education and time. I love everything abt this car but I just cannot go beyond 700k for now. I pray I get one with that amount. Enjoy your day. |
I understand some auto mechanics in Naija normally complains about some specific vehicles (engines) eg. Golf 3 has an engine they call normal engine while the same golf3 has another type that they always warn people not to buy or even go close to. Pls is the Iv-tech engine what mechanics can easily handle without complaints? Thanks and God bless you. |
Thanks man, I appreciate. |
@ ba-aliyah. I appreciate you alot but does the road noise affect the performance of the car? Also do you have the idea of the cost in Cotonou? The agent am going through said it cost 700k including custom duty but one other person said I need up to 800k. Help pls, thanks |
I have been following threads on Nairaland for a very long time now, especially on car talk but hardly find where anyone mentioned honda Civic 1999 model. I honestly have a plan of buying the 1999 honda Civic auto before the end of November, can anyone advice me whether to or not to go for it? Please Ikenna, Car Doctor and other car enthusiast |
