The triumph of evil is for a moment. With the reported attempt of sponsored assassination against the Personal Assistant to the former Governor of Osun State Teju Aregbesola, elder Brother to Senator Ajibola Basiru by the name Alhaji Simple and the PA to Osun State House of Assembly Speaker who is said to bear Dammy, it is ripe to say that our State is now a den of terror.

All anti establishment Comrades in both PDP and APC as well as in the Osun Civil Societies are seriously admonished to activate strict vigilance more than ever before at this period while not losing focus on the battle to rescue our State from organized bandits.

Soldiers of good conscience are enjoined never to look back. There is no retreat and no surrendering. How many people will they attack? Their agents will know that we own this State together

Really APC has destroyed in Osun State. the next Congress in the month of June in Osun State will be bloody as well.

The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Hon Mascot Uzor Kalu has shed light on last weekend's byelection in the federal constituency, regretting that his opponents wanted to win at all costs and resorted to thuggery and brigandage.

According to him, "Our opponents flooded the city with thugs numbering over 20, 000. Traders were threatened with text messages to keep away or lose their lives."

He disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday that "we were winning in more than 400 polling units and they kept using thugs to harass the INEC officials and scare our voters."

It reads:

The March  27, 2021 Aba North  and Aba South Federal Constituency by-election  is over, and Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP)  has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC), we  appeal to our members to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith while appreciating them for making the Party stronger in Abia. 

While the opposition wanted the election at all cost , we chose life over blood shed and therefore won lives and lost the polls. To us, that was a greater victory . 

The level of  thuggery, violence and rigging that occurred in the election calls for a deeper review of  our electoral laws .  Every country is peculiar to it's people , all Nigerian  should support the electoral laws that is being amended  as it would assist us in getting our democracy strengthened. The electoral laws as it is renders the security agencies with arms weak in the face of violence at the polls  and therefore needs a revisit . Granted that the armless police should be inside the polling units, the armed should be within fifty meters away from the units.

My campaign officers  and our Party agents were kidnapped , even the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) , Prof Joseph  Iloh was manhandled by thugs  at  the Aba polytechnics. 

We campaigned vigorously and Aba people were expectant of improvement from what late Ossy Prestige of blessed memory did . My only concern is that Aba people lost.  They lost a quality representation and chance to have added infrastructures in Aba . 

We were winning in more than 400 polling units and they kept using thugs to harass the INEC officials and scare our voters . Our voters ran for their lives . In a city with over 497,000 voting strength, less than 15,000 votes were recorded in the entire election. 

I commend the INEC and  security agents who were overwhelmed and I congratulate them  for their services and the risk they took to protect the citizens. 


I also thank the  National Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Committee,  His Excellency,  Gov.Mai Mala Buni , Aba North and South Party Chairmen and all our party faithfuls for their support in the election.


Even though we have enough evidence to reclaim our mandate , we won't be going to the court . This is to allow the declared winner to concentrate and provide good representation and infrastructure to the good people of Aba.



Once again I thank the Aba people for coming out en masse to vote for the APC and I congratulate the winner , Chimaobi Ebisike and the PDP,  not because they won but because it's gentleman to do so.

Mr Olateju Adunni, the Personal Assistant to Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was late yesterday attacked by some hoodlums.

An elder brother to the Senator Representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Dr Ajibola Basiru, simply known as Simple, whose real name could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report, was also attacked by the thugs who shot and unleashed machete cuts on their victims.

The hoodlums, according to eye witnesses, were led by a notorious thug, Asiri Eniba.

Osun Defender gathered that the victims were attacked at a restaurant in Oroki Estate, Osogbo, around 10:30pm, where the lawmaker representing Osogbo Constituency at the State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon Taofeek Badmus was marking his birthday.

The Personal Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon Timothy Owoeye, Dammy, popularly known Pentagon was also attacked by the hoodlums.

Dammy was reportedly rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for medical attention, according to sources.

The condition of Aregbesola’s PA could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report.

While it could not be confirmed if  he violated the coronavirus guidelines and regulations in respect of the number of  attendees or not,  trouble reportedly began at about  10:30pm when uninvited visitors surfaced.

Aregbesola’s Personal Assistant, Olateju Adunni , Ajibola Basiru’s elder brother popularly called ‘Simple’ and   Speaker  Timothy Owoeye’s Personal Assistant, Damilola alias ‘Pentagon’  , and others were said to have sustained serious injuries in the disturbance recorded  at the birthday get together.

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Thursday, declared that presidential aspirants who are above 60 years of age would not be allowed to rule the country.
Fayemi, who is also the governor of Ekiti state, called on the youth to launch themselves into the Nigerian political terrain in the 2023 general elections and dictate who becomes president and governors of the 36 states.
The governor, who spoke in Abuja at the National Youth Summit and Conference organised by the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), was represented by his Special Adviser on Federal Matters, Hon. Makinde Araoye.
Fayemi, who chaired the occasion, called on the youth to take charge in 2023, said aside from political offices, their energy and wisdom would also be useful in other aspects of the country’s economy.
He said: “We have 2022 and 2023 elections around the corner, and in the new dispensations that are coming up, what is our role? Are we going to be blocking the Toll gates? Are we going to be burning the national flag? Are we going to be tweeting #Endsars#; or are we going to grab the mantle of power that we have now to dictate who the next president of Nigeria will be; and who the next governors in Nigeria will be?
“One thing I can tell you is that we the Nigerian youths are not going to allow anyone above the age of 60 years to run for president. Nigerians have suffered enough. Enough is enough. It is not by saying, we have to go into action and we have to mobilise.’’
The Chairman, Governing Board of NYC, Dr Yakub Shedam, in his address, said with proper government’s direction, the Nigerian youths would curb banditry.
Shedam also called on the federal government to include members of the group in its programmes and politics, saying that NYC is apolitical, rather, a movement to actualize a one-Nigeria for the youth that devoid of religious and ethnicity biases.
Also, the NYC President, Comrade Blessing Akinlosotu, who stated that the Nigerian youths formed 65-70 percent of the country’s population, said: “How has this great numerical strength being translated into good governance /
leadership and economic prosperity?’’.
On the summit, he said: “This National Youth Summit is a very strategic and important one as its resolutions will be presented to the Federal Government, National Assembly, and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to be worked on for proper implementation for the betterment of the
Nigerian youths ’’.
