The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has expressed appreciation for the support he received during the governorship primaries of the party.

Adeleke garnered 1569 votes to defeat his closest rival, Akin Ogunbiyi who polled 1562 votes.

In a message he personally signed, Adeleke affirmed that there was no winner and no vanquished, urging party unity and solidarity among the contestants and their supporters.


The full statement reads: “I send very big congratulations to everyone in the Osun PDP family. We have once again blazed the trail by demonstrating to all undemocratic forces how powerful the will of the PEOPLE can be. We have proved that PDP is a party of true democrats determined to take Osun people from poverty to prosperity.

Osun State chairman of the Peoples Democratic party, Hon Soji Adagunodo has congratulated the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly , Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory in yesterday's governorship primaries of the party.

Adagunodo gave the congratulations in a Press statement personally signed by him.

The party chairman described the victory of Senator Adeleke as divine and urged him to be magnanimous in victory and reach out to his co-aspirants in a conciliatory manner.

Adagunodo also called on all party members to rally round the party candidate and begin to work in earnest for the success of the party in the September 22nd governorship election.

You will now reappear another time in another thread still repeating these same issues.i just analyzed the 2014 guber polls and the recent osun west rerun.adeleke wkn with about 31,000 votes,27,000 of which were from ede land.in the remaining 8 lgas he won,it was marginal showing how strong apc is.apc won only in ejigbo lga.same thing will happen on 17 september,i see him winning ede land by 30,000 difference while struggling in other osun west lgas.
In 2014,omisore won ife areas with almost 30,000 votd difference.the apc won osogbo and olorunda with almost 50,000 gap.over 60 percent of apc votes were from the central zone.i see the same thing happening.up apc,up oyetola

From what am seeing in the federal allocations,osun has been collecting less than 1 billion naira monthly.i stand to be corrected please.this is due to loan deductions.aregbesola overreached himself by investing massively in the infrastructure/education right from his first term since the state allocation was huge as of then.the fall in oil prices dealt the state a huge blow.he forgot that he was no longer in lagos where he had huge capital funds as works commissioner.so how can he pay full salary with less than a billion naira?
