Every day we hear new things. Facebook user and massage therapist, Christy Glo, wrote on her Facebook page today that she communicates with ghosts on a daily basis. According to her, different ghosts appear to her to guide her daily. Christy says the ghosts tell her which evil customer to avoid and that even when she goes to an evil person's house, the ghost of the day would give her maximum protection. Christy says she is a Christian. Some of her commenters said they too also see ghost. One of them even narrated his experience with a ghost. The Kaduna state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) says the scripts recently released by Kaduna State governor, were those of messengers and carpenters that the governor forcefully converted to teachers on his assumption of office.



In an interview with newsmen in Zaria today, the NUT Zaria chapter chairman, Yahaya Abbas, said this was discovered following investigations by members of the union. According to him

'We were disturbed when we saw those scripts. This was why we investigated. You may recall that el-Rufa’i has directed the conversion of all redundant staff in the local education authorities to teachers. Among those converted were messengers, carpenters, labourers, security personnel among others. We were made to write the exam in question with those people. Our investigation revealed that candidate number EKUB 0059 displayed by el-Rufa’i was a carpenter in Kubau local government before he was forcefully taken to class. Candidate number EKUB 2839 was a messenger in the same local government. If you remember all attempts to draw the attention of the government on the implication of their action fell on deaf ears. Again, those that marked this exam are the illiterates, because even these candidates with their limited knowledge have answered some of the questions correctly but they were marked wrong.”
Last month, the state government conducted a competency test for teachers in the state. Out of the 37 teachers that sat for the primary 4 based questions, 21, 780 of the teachers failed woefully. The state government's resolve to sack the unqualified teachers have been faced with serious opposition.



Last week, the state governor released some of the scripts of the teachers after they staged a protest in the state, demanding that the planned sack should be aborted.

The atmosphere in Zimbabwe is reportedly tense after the military took over, detained President Robert Mugabe and his wife, then declared that the former vice president will be the interim president in what is being referred to as a 'bloodless transition' of power.

On the streets of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, military vehicles were seen blocking the roads outside the parliament as citizens went about their businesses quietly. Armed soldiers in armored personnel carriers stationed themselves at key points in Harare, while Zimbabweans formed long lines at banks in order to draw money amid uncertainty following the so-called 'bloodless transition' of power.

The military's action came after former vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa, 75, a veteran of Zimbabwe's 1970s liberation wars, was sacked by Mugabe earlier this month. The dismissal left Mugabe's wife Grace, 52, in prime position to succeed her husband as the next president - a succession strongly opposed by senior ranks in the military.

Just yesterday, the head of the armed forces Constantino Chiwenga, openly threatened to intervene in politics if Mugabe did not stop removing veterans from government. And true to his words, action was taken today. Deposed vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa, 75, has now returned from exile to take control.

Senator Ali Ndume this morning arrived the Senate chamber to assume duties as Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District after serving his mandatory six months suspension. The Senate suspended Ndume in Marchafter he called for an investigation into the allegations of corruption leveled against Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Dino Melaye.

A Federal High Court in Abuja last week, ordered that Ndume is recalled back to the Senate as his suspension was illegal.

51-year-old Jadesola Agbalade forwarded a child pornography clip which showed a child being raped, a Dublin court has heard.

She pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly distributing child pornography on July 20, 2016. Garda Enda Ledwith told Karl Finnegan BL, prosecuting, that he arrested a man in Dublin Airport in July 2017 in relation to credit card fraud.

That man’s phone was investigated and the child pornography clip was discovered. The court heard the clip showed a child between the ages of two and five being raped by a man.

Upon further investigation, gardaí discovered it is an international clip that has been in circulation since about 2014. Gardaí traced the phone number from which the clip was sent back to Agbalade.

When they called the number, Agbalade answered and agreed to meet them at Blanchardstown shopping centre. She handed over her phone to gardaí and admitted to receiving the child pornography clip and sending it on.

As well as the male recipient identified by gardaí, she told gardaí she sent the clip to a female friend who has three young children in a bid to warn her “not to leave her children with her boyfriend”.

That lady has never been identified. Agbalade has no previous convictions. Gda Ledwith agreed with Michael Bowman SC, defending, that Agbalade “didn’t understand the enormity of the situation” when she was interviewed.

She told gardaí, “I didn’t know it wasn’t right. I’m sorry.” Mr Bowman told the court it was a “remarkably unusual” case. Mr Bowman said Agbalade has one teenage child still living with her and two adult sons who are in university.

He said she is a single mother who came to Ireland in 2001. He submitted the stigma of a conviction would be punishment enough for Agbalade. “She will now be a sex offender and as a mother, that is a significant stigma in the community,” he said.

Agbalade “comes to the court absolutely aghast at what she has allowed herself to become involved in,” he added. Judge Karen O’Connor ordered a probation report and remanded Agbalade on continuing bail. via: Irish Times.
