Foreign Affairs / Bible Wielding Trump And Our Hypocrisy by Johnpo: 12:19pm On Jun 07, 2020 |
BIBLE WIELDING TRUMP AND OUR HYPOCRISY!! For over a week now, Media has been awashed with various opinions over Mr. Trump's religious campaign, holding a Bible graciously in front of the St. John Episcopal Church in W.DC. American people have reacted differently with some doubting whether Mr. Trump really knows what is in the Bible! America, like most countries in the World, have their religious idiocy embedded in the Constitution and are flagrantly pompous in professing to others how religious and morally upright they are. How ironic? Mr. Trump, as a successful businessman didn't do so by being the hallmark of morality to his competitors and others, but by using any bullish tactics and intrics known and unknown to achieve his goal. He knows how to bait on people's greed, beliefs, vulnerability, and psychology to have his way and this, he has been doing all his life. Hence, when he ventured into politics, he had all he needed in his arsenals to pull through the storm on Eagle's wings by leveraging on the average white man's pseudo Supperiority Mentality and wielding a religious card as a man that wants to bring God back to the godless America by 'MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN' to garner minorities votes. Yeah, he succeeded in style. Praise God somebody! It is not surprising seeing most of my country men and women painting a venerable picture of Trump as a righteous man and dragging the former president, Mr. Barrack Obama, through the inglorious mud of disdain and devilhood: an antichrist, illuminati etc. To them, Mr. Trump is a God sent and represented God in all his actions and inactions. How weird a thought? No wonder in Africa and particularly Nigeria, continues to wallow in abject poverty and gaining popularity only in bad governance and corruption; churning out poor leadership and leaders in all spheres of our political lives. Nigeria prided itself as the most Religious Country and of course, the dividends of our religiousness lies in our backwardness! A moment a politician identifies with our religion and ethnic ties, he becomes a canonized saint, sent by a God of our religious affiliations to save and serve us even when the track records of this our supposed saint is blurry and anti-people, we throw conscience and reason into the wind and make bed with our delusion: she(he) is a good Christian, she(he) is a good Muslim and this is all that is needed to become a leader in Nigeria. No substance, no objectivity and yet in our amnesiac follies, we complained and continue to complain about why we are where we are and then again, the next four or three years, the mistakes is repeated again and again! Our lord is a forgiving God! Indeed, and very forgetful! Mr. Trump knows that November is just a few months away and amidst all that is happening politically in America, he has a lot to contend with if his second term ambition must be successful. What did he do? He pulled the ancient's card of gullibility; went to Church to purportedly pray for America and/or maybe for the departed soul of George Floyd and part of the World bearing the mark of the Cross went wild in religious hysteria: He is a righteous man, a good Christian and he is going to stop gay marriage in the world! Gay marriage is actually the greatest problem facing Africa; the number one causes of corruption, bad governance and why kids are thrown on the streets in the name of Almagiri system of Education. No wonder Mr. Trump has a great followership in Nigeria, where religion is the only thing that qualifies one as a leader and when one is rigged into office or uses thugs, kill to gain political power, she/he then proceeded to Church or Mosque to pray, lying prostrate on the the altar, in thanksgiving, appreciating God for his or her Victory! God given Victory(ies)! Our hypocrisy stinks beyond Heavens and Americans, like Nigerians, shall elect Mr. Trump for a second in office to do God's will! 2 Likes |
Politics / Ain't Not Breathing For Blacks by Johnpo: 4:06pm On Jun 05, 2020 |
AIN'T NO BREATHING FOR BLACKS....I can't breathe!! Melanin is allergic to breathe As you can't be black and breath the air Though free but its chokes your being And send you 6 under the gallow I can't breathe even in my native home Surrounded by people of same colour and culture For a moment I rise to excellence I am reminded 'You're not not from here, you're are odidung, settler' 'Hence whatever things you aspire for belongs to us The owner of the land, amana isoñ, Oyo ifi.' I can't breathe Where I am only a brother during a farming season As I am expected to participate in bush clearing for cultivation And to excuse the gang when the harvest is due and the merry made I can't breathe As every progress I made attracts the wrath and envy Of the land owners, Eyo Ifi, amana isoñ As I am expected to wallow in mediocrity to please their egos As every good things of life, of a right belongs to Eyo Ifi and not Odidung, settlers. I can't breathe As those I once called brothers, family Rise in frenzy hate and jealousy to raise the dust Of a forgotten ancestry where the borns and cords of childhood interred To mock and subjugate and bury the ties of the past and our common humanity For it is easy to tag me Odidung, settler, in order to deprive me of a right of being As insisting on such right would earn their distorted history 'You're from the Bo and not Bia, you're the ow and yo' I can't breathe As my sisters and brothers are deprived jobs on merit Though their meritorious contributions stared us in the face They're told 'You're not from here, go to your your State.' Ask Cross River State and others, they'll tell you! I can't breathe As Ośu cast system dehumanised us And create a life time of social barrier and deprivation among my people As we a bound slaves to the indigent Deserving of nothing good but shame and generational indignities I can't breathe As I am not from a majority tribe and my name Not traced to a 7th Century culture as it is only those With such lineage that are entitled to a prominent appointments In Government and even social gatherings I can't breathe As my country men and women are gunned down daily By men empowered by Government and paid for with our common patrimony As trumped up charges are the only evidence to silence us forever Even as those paid to protect us are killing in numbers, we can't breathe! I can't breathe Cos it seems Nature has conspired against us Or else why would blackness attracts so much negativity? Why would black people kill each other with no remorse? Why would our leaders loot our countries dry instead of Developing it with our vast rich resources? I can't breathe Even in Africa our lungs and larynx have been ripped apart Asphyxiated by poor leadership and ethnic/religious bigotry As we gasp for breath on daily basis and we can only imagine What our ancestors faced in the plantations across US and Europe Still even in the 21st century, their descendants are still bearing the New Jim Crow's axes begging for breath. I can't breathe As you rise in solidarity with the Floyd's Mantra Know that American people have risen in one voice for Humanity As no party or religious sentiments are prioritised but sense of humanity And also know that Floyd has been given justice even in a land far away But we are yet to have justice in Africa and worst still, in Nigeria! Ain't no breathing for blacks! Johnpo 2020. |

This is an adult for crying out loud: that she is Chime's daughter makes no penny difference. The karmic effect of smoking is meant for her and not her Dad and siblings. Lets grow a bit pls. |
