Nigeria President Buhari has approved free business name registration with the CAC for 250,000 businesses across the nation.

It was announced on Tuesday evening by the Media aide to the President of Nigeria, Bashir Ahmad.

The registration for 250k MSMEs nationwide; according to the CAC, 6,606 names in each of the 34 states, Abuja will have 7,906, Lagos 9,084 & Kano 8,406,” he tweeted.

Many Nigerians feel bamboozled, having believed that a man who at the time of election seemed to be of high moral standing and military discipline would make things better if he got into power.

The federal government has commenced the process to restart international flights.

Sani Aliyu, National Coordinator, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, disclosed this on Thursday during the daily briefing, that approvals have been given for aviation authorities to commence the process for the resumption of international flights.

Aliyu said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and other aviation agencies, as well as airlines, are to come up with a safe process through which international airlines can commence operations.

The PTF Coordinator said when international flight operations resume, passengers will have to arrive three hours before flights, to ensure that there is no crowding of the airports.

“For international travel, we have made recommendations to the aviation industry to commence the process for reopening international airports provided all existing international and local COVID-19 protocols are in place.

“We have modified the protocol for passenger arrivals at the airports. Domestic passengers arriving at the airports are advised to arrive one hour before their flights and three hours before international flights when this restarts,” Aliyu stated.

His statement comes after President Muhammadu Buhari approved the extension of the second phase of the eased lockdown for another four weeks.

The PTF had met with Buhari on Wednesday, and briefed him on the progress made so far in containing the spread of COVID-19, as well as making recommendations on how to retain the current phase of the response, with minor changes to address economic, socio-political, and health concerns.

The major changes being proposed are aimed at achieving the gradual re-opening of international air flights within established parameters, re-opening of rail transportation within established parameters, and the granting of permissions to exit classes to resume ahead of examinations.

Under the revised guidelines of the eased lockdown, which will be maintained in the next four weeks, the current nationwide curfew from 10.00pm to 6.00am still stands.

Also, meetings for government officials and parastatals will continue to hold virtually.

While the ban on entertainment centers will be maintained, restrictions on recreational parks have been lifted for non-contact physical activities.

Passengers for domestic flights can now arrive at least an hour and a half before flight.

At least 10 soldiers including a newly married senior officer, who fought to repel a Boko Haram attack, were killed by members of the terror group last week, security sources told SaharaReporters.

The newly married officer, a lieutenant, was identified as Babakaka Shehu Ngorgi of the 202 Battalion in Bama, Borno State.
A captain and major were among the victims killed, too.

“In the last one week, Boko Haram fighters have killed and wounded several Nigerian soldiers in the city of Baga, Magumeri, Baga to Cross Kauwa highway and Maiduguri-Damboa  highway,” the source added.

Senator Ali Ndume vehemently condemns FG BH amnesty.
Senator Ali Ndume, the lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has criticized the Federal Government’s amnesty for repentant Boko Haram terrorists.

Ndume’s statement came after a repentant Boko Haram member who was reintegrated into the society killed his father, stole his wealth and disappeared.

According to the outspoken senator, most of the Boko Haram members who were reintegrated into the society had returned back to their old ways.

He consequently called the Federal Government to cancel the programme.

Ndume who spoke during an interview on a BBC Hausa programme in Kaduna asked the rationale behind the investment of huge resources on repentant insurgents.

According to him, rather than train Boko Haram terrorists who would not appreciate it, it was better to use the funds for vocational and skill acquisition programmes for Boko Haram victims in IDP camps.

“They are like Kharajites. Many among those released have since run away. They will never repent. The government should know what to do about them, but not reintroducing someone to you, who has killed your parents or your relations.

“Not that he even apologised to you; he apologised to the government. His thinking was that government has failed and that is why they are being pampered. This government’s programme is unacceptable to our people. The right thing is to stop it forthwith.

“If there is sincerity of purpose, those in the Internally Displaced Persons’ camps should be trained in various trades and vocations, so that they can start life again.”

Another Nigerian lawyer and author Modupe Odele has lamented how she got rejected by the United States for being from a corrupt country.
Modupe Odele, who calls herself an international lawyer took to the streets of Twitter to narrate her experience, noting that she asked why she was rejected and was directly told it is because the document she submitted was coming from Nigeria.

The Federal Government has revealed Why Npower beneficiaries have not been paid.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, made this known in a statement, saying it did not pay 14,020 NPower Enrollees in the concluded batches of Npower programme because the affected beneficiaries’ account details were found to be already existing in other ministries, departments, and agencies. The government which noted that the actions of the enrollees were against the established rule of the N-Power programme, regretted that the development affected some real and eligible beneficiaries.
